3 out of 5 eggsVersion dependent

Pros: I operate four of these adapters, all Version 3. These are five egg items without exception. The Version 3 adapters have my highest recommendation. Period. So why only a three star rating? Read on.

Cons: While the latest version of this product is terrific, earlier versions were designed differently and are not as great. When buying a refurbished adapter you must know what you are getting. When buying new you are assured the most recent version of the product will be shipped.

Other Thoughts: It is troubling that Newegg, with all the photos of this refurbished product it displays, fails to show us the most important photo of all. It is on the REAR , on the underside, of this adapter that the version number is shown. Newegg is careful not to offer us that view.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Joshua,

Thank you for taking the time to provide you detailed feedback.

We certainly appreciate the praise regarding our version 3 TL-WN822N model and always look to improve upon our products thanks to the feedback and support of our consumers.

Your constructive comments are certainly feasible and we will be sure to work more closely with Newegg to ensure these concerns may be addressed moving forward.

Thank you again for your support and we hope you will continue your interest in our products for your future networking needs.

Best Regards!

4 out of 5 eggs1st was DOA, 2nd is Great

Pros: Great connection with this. Very easy to install. TPLink support was fairly decent when trying to resolve the first adapter that I received when it was DOA. NewEgg was quick to resolve and send another out.

Cons: As stated the first one I received was not working. Had to contact TPLink and NewEgg in order to get a replacement.

Other Thoughts: NewEgg did a great job keeping me happy and trying resolve the DOA adapter.

Not very happy with the 3 Day UPS Shipping that I paid extra for. Took 5 days, while the second one/replacement that was sent to me was shipped using the EggSaver and it got here in the same amount of time. UPS 3 day not worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsN Wireless Adapter

Pros: Following a seamless replacement of a D.O.A. unit by the vendor I find this unit to be the best I have used. It produces a legitimate 300Mbps speed. 100% signal strength @ 60' compared to 35-59% previously,. The 'one touch' whistles and bells remain untouched as after the disk/driver load-in, Win 7 Pro 64bit immediately saw the unit and it remains loaded and error, drop-out free. The USB cord should be sufficiently long for most any location.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: As usual, Newegg does its pull/pack/ship/inv/track with aplomb. It came as no shock to me that this vendor would replace the refurbished unit I had grabbed when available at a daily 'E-Blast' price which I could not pass up as a back up for the day of the six year old Zonet's demise. This, after siting, unopened, on the shelf for months. Outstanding!

5 out of 5 eggsPainless Install, Good signal, WinXP

Pros: Installation in Win XP was painless.
Signal received much better than it's predecessor.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Item is used in an old system that is still running Win XP. All adapters I tried were USB based.
I started with a LinkSys that would not stay connected. Then a Zonet that installed once but when i redid the system would no longer install. The TP-Link blows them all away.
