5 out of 5 eggsTP-LINK ARCHER C50 DUAL BAND ROUTER

Pros: PROS: functions as described, superior optimal network range, stable consistent signal, fast and easy setup, tether app very resourceful, customer service top notch, well made, excellent 2 year warranty, 24/7 tech support,

Cons: CONS: None

Other Thoughts: “This is a review of a free product received from TP-LINK as part of the review program.”
Greetings, I've had the opportunity to evaluate a wireless dual band router, the Archer C50.

When I opened the box for the first time, I noticed how well-made and nice it looked, it has a black shiny finish, two sturdy antennas, and a small foot print.

My previous router was an Apple Extreme base station, which worked fine but was more challenging to set up when I first purchased it. I was experiencing Internet speed of 48 Mbps on a 802.11n network band.

When I tested the C50, I was very impressed, it provided quick & hassle-free configuration with easy to read instructions. Once I configured my network, I immediately performed a speed test and experienced my speed had increased from 48 Mbps to 65 Mbps, I was impressed by the increase considering my network capabilities, I believed the connection was limited.

I performed my configuration solely using my iPad mini and the TP-LINK tether app, which is a very resourceful tool. Simply unplug your cable modem and plug the C50 router in. Follow the included step by step instructions and the configuration will be a breeze. After the router has booted up by the display of lights in front your ready to configure using the tether app or web browser.

I utilized the app, just open, refresh, and it will locate the router. Once located, click the name and it will proceed to the next step, name your network, setup your password.

I found the C50 provided excellent coverage, and even increased the network signal through some dead zones I had in my home.

I appreciate the ability to set up guest networks while keeping my network secure, and the diversity of limiting content to other devices. There is a configuration for parents who have small children, the parental control's configuration is an excellent way to monitor Internet traffic preventing unwanted exposure to children, and young teens.

On the back of the router provides four clearly marked Ethernet ports for other devices (computer, flat-screen TV, or game console). A USB 2.0 port for a printer or external hard drive, and one port for the Internet. The router provides an excellent feature to turn the unit on or off via a button, and a WPS reset to start over if needed.

I've had no issues whatsoever, no rebooting, a consistent signal, and no dropped networks. This unit is backwards compatible with 802.11n band too.

The TP-LINK C50 wireless dual band router has proven a worthy competitor to high-price routers that offer the same features at an affordable price.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good!

Pros: Where 'normal' N600 routers failed, this one does the job.

Cons: None found.

Other Thoughts: Longish house, wife's computer at the other end from the router.
AT&T's N600 gateway hardly did the job, wife's computer had one to max. three of five bars.
Now full signal strength!
