Pros: Whether you have a TPLINK Router or another brand, this thing works great! I have some dead Wi-Fi zones in my house near my master bedroom and get a weak signal. I connected this to my Wifi, near my router, then moved it into my bedroom. It provides awesome extended coverage and it allows me to hardwire my Roku3 for near flawless Netflix streaming.

I've had it connect for a few weeks now with no issues and no need to reboot. The only thing I did immediately was update the firmware. Great product.

I would definitely recommend for extending existing Wifi. I am on Comcast/Xfinity 100mbps.

Ok I need more range in my house, it's a 3 bedroom split level and the router is in the basement. The main level works fine, but when trying to use the Streaming Box in the upstairs bedroom, we get lag when trying to watch shows.

TP-Link RE355 came to my rescue. I plugged it into the main level right above the basement router, so only on floor in between. After testing the changes made, we had lift off!! Meaning once more we could enjoy streaming video in the upstairs levels.

Its really hard to tell how much slower or faster than other levels, but I am guessing its a bit slower. It was very easy to setup. At first the leds got to me at night, but TP-Link thought of everything. The leds can be set to turn off at distinct times(when it's bedtime).

Pros -
Quick Easy setup.
Works and stays working.
Price for quality of product.
Takes up very little space, because it's on the wall.

Cons -
Kinda hard to use in power strip unless at top.
Hard to justify buying a more expensive one , when this one works:-)

I have had many range extenders that don't really hold connections, this one does the job. Times are a changing and TP-Link is making some great wifi products.

Greetings, I've had the opportunity to review a Wi-Fi extender by TP-LINK, and concur with many of the reviews; the product does function as intended. I reside in a 1300 sq ft apartment and discovered my Wi-Fi signal needed to be extended;

I have an Apple Extreme router early model (2003, 802. 11n) and while I have had great success with his router, it was time to extend my network. The RE355 performed like a champ with an early model running 802. 11n band router, it was very easy to configure, and it extended the range through some challenging areas my router was not able to. I could increase the signal in some dead spots and penetrated my steel entrance door.

I do acknowledge that interference from other devices can hinder a signal, but I was impressed with the RE355 performance. I also have to acknowledge; I did not obtain speeds stated on the box. However, I am dealing with old technology and can agree I may be able to achieve faster speeds from today's latest network band. So, I will be updating my review as I will be reviewing another product from TP-LINK and will be submitting an update.

My evaluation and configuration conducted using solely my iPad mini and the TP-LINK tether app. The configuration took less than a minute and was very easy. The tether app is a very resourceful tool in configuring the extender, but it can also be configured using a web browser.

The extender came with very easy to read instructions and provided easy step by step process. My only concern is the size was a bit larger than I expected and the absence of a USB port, which would allow more diversity in the use of devices.

Lastly, the TP-LINK RE355 performs well and in my opinion, a worthy device to add to your arsenal of network devices.
