Model 5363 combines a Comcast and Time Warner Cable (TWC) certified 343 Mbps DOCSIS 3.0 8x4 Cable Modem with a very high-performance 1900 Mbps 802.11ac WiFi Router with 4 GigE LAN ports. The 5363 is certified for money-saving own-your-cable-modem programs by Comcast and TWC. The 5363's wireless networking features are the best in the industry and include 3x3 internal antennas for both a "1300 Mbps" 802.11ac/a radio operating at 5 GHz and a "600 Mbps" 802.11n/g/b radio operating at 2.4 GHZ. Speed and range are supercharged by wireless beamforming for both 2.4 and 5 GHz radios. Beamforming focuses Model 5363's wireless energy on each wireless device. 11ac beamforming is used when connecting to 802.11ac clients. Broadcom AnyBeam is used when connecting to ANY other 2.4 or 5.0GHz wireless client even if that smarphone, computer, tablet, smart TV or other WiFi compatible device doesn't have beamforming technology. Wireless performance is also boosted by Broadcom TurboQAM technology to increase maximum wireless-N data rates at 2.4 GHz to 600 Mbps, 33% over competitors without this feature. Beamforming, dual wireless radios, and 3x3 antennas for both radios provide a significant advantage, especially in locations with interference from nearby wireless networks. Model 5363 is certified by Comcast, TWC, and CableLabs to support DOCSIS 3.0 and IPv6, operating at 343 Mbps downstream, 123 Mbps upstream. DOCSIS 2.0 and 1.1 are also supported. Advanced router features include: wireless security with highest grade protection, , advanced firewall, parental controls, up to 16 guest networks (SSIDs), VPN tunneling, static and dynamic IP routing. Additional wireless LAN features include: 802.11e Quality of Service, WMM admission control, WDS for extending wireless range using repeaters, and WPS for easy wireless setup. The modem/router combination is a compact 8.2 X 7.4 X 2 inches. Model 5363 has a two year warranty from Zoom Telephonics, a Boston-based company founded in 1977.

I have followed all instructions in their manual (DMZ, port triggering and plug and play - UPnP) but still would not stay connected. It always drops. In the long term I will save money by no longer renting from the cable company. Customer service was very helpful where the user manual fell short. Cons: User manual is not well written. Most examples and much of the wording was incorrect or incoherent. Customer service is not 24-hour. Other Thoughts: Great choice if you have multiple hard-wired and WI-Fi devices and do not want the extra hassle of connecting a separate router. Did you find this review helpful?
