3 out of 5 eggsPremiertek Amp

Pros: It works and does what it says it will do.

Cons: This has nothing to do with this specific adapter, but amplifying your signal is usually not the best route to extending your range. The power adapter plug in very poorly made. You will have to fiddle with it to get it working properly. You will end up troubleshooting an issue, only to find out it is the darn cord. That cost it two eggs. However, if your set-up will be put together and then stored away in a corner somewhere where it will never get bumped then this shouldn't be a problem at all.

Other Thoughts: This is just a basic Amplifier for 2.4Ghz Wifi. It gets the job done and pushes the signal just that little bit farther. It isn't, however, a hail mary. Wifi is a give and take. Often the more power you push, the more noise there is. Also, Wifi is a two-way street. I would suggest upgrading your Wifi Adapter before you amplify your routers signal. Premiertek also offers some Adapters with quite good ratings. Check out the PL-18N Adapter. Also, remember you are most likely better off installing Higher-Gain/more directional antenna. Using an amplifier is usually only useful if you KNOW that a certain radio is having trouble broadcasting the distance and that the other radio is having no trouble. Amplify the signal falling, both signals can now transmit. If that is what you are attempting to do - this product does what your looking for...

3 out of 5 eggsspoty

Pros: installed this unit in a house with fairly dense walls. it seems to have boosted the signal for most wireless devices.

Cons: i mainly installed this to get wireless signal for 2 x-box 360's. the booster made no difference what so ever. i hooked it up to a tp-link wr1042nd. i tried changing the channel inside the router. i tried all available channels and it made no difference. with the stock antenna hooked to the router, the signal was the same.

4 out of 5 eggsIncreases Signal

Pros: Achieved Full Bars Strength & Increased Speed - Easy Hookup. . .

Cons: Power Connector Arched when Plugging In to Amp but Didn't Cause Damage. ( A bit of Safety Engineering on this Portion is a Good Idea )

Other Thoughts: This Company Makes a 1-Watt Amplifier also - Would be Nice to Have a Dual Channel Unit like this but with 2-Watts Total.
Power Light in the P/S would be good.
( Pay Attention to the Connectors Ends on the Supplied Cable - Orientation Matters )
