Pros: Very easy to use, works great, wall mountable, cable is plenty long and came with an adapter to hook it up to a larger port.

5 out of 5 eggsGreg to USS Enterprise

Pros: WOW! This was the best deal I have ever found on Newegg. I plugged this thing in to the Rosewell Adapter I bought and BAM! My wife was able to hit our router through 3 count them 3 block walls at full strength. She can also see some other networks. 1 is over 400feet away. It was mind blowing. I wish I had bought a set for my computer. But this was amazing. Who knows I may even be able to talk to Captain Kirk of the Enterprise.

Cons: Nada None Nothing

Other Thoughts: I only wish I had bought me a set

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't Work

Pros: Newegg is great

Cons: No gain over stock antenna

Other Thoughts: 200 feet away from my DGL-4300 I have one bar on my phones wifi with the stock antenna, if I move to 240 feet away (far side of the swimming pool) I have no reception. I bought this antenna because I just needed a little more reception. The first one I RMA’d , had better reception with no antenna connected. The second one is not as good as the stock antenna. I did not send it back; it costs more for return shipping than what the antenna costs. I’m not buying another. What a waste.

5 out of 5 eggsPrice, performance great

Pros: Doubled strength out of the box. The main issue for me was it allowed me to move the antenna due to the approx 4' cable

Cons: Didn't see this product offering earlier

5 out of 5 eggsVery happy with Antenna

Pros: Price and Performance.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: My PC is in the back of the house and was having trouble getting a clean signal from my router. I originally bought this thinking I would hook it up to the router to enhance my signal coverage, however I recently bought the linksys e2000 which has all internal antennas so I wasn't able to do that. Instead I hooked it up directly to my usb wireless adapter on my PC and it has really done the trick. Well worth the $5 I paid on newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsre-visit

Pros: Finally it came with the SMA to TNC adapter. ^_^ the antenna is very very cheap compared to $40ish. Worth the money

magnet base is strong (i took the magnets out b/c i placed it on top of my polk audio home theater speakers and since i know there are magnets inside, i dont want it to mess things up... just to be in the safe side

Cons: little scratches here and there.. kinda beat up.. but hey... its a refurbished product so what can you expect

remember, the base is like an extension cord... and using this base = degrade is dbi due to its length

Other Thoughts: ok so the first time i ordered one, it didnt come with the SMA to TNC adapter (which i dont use) but its one of those things where i paid for it and i expect to receive what i pay for. NOW.. i ordered 2 more and it came with the adapter. anyways... I am using this antenna for my dir-655 router... A4 F/W: 1.21. It works but dont expect a HIGH gain in reception. it went up by one bar or so from windows point of view, but from the router itself, the signal percentage went down. (I had another high gain antenna, with a swirl around the middle while this antenna i believe is just one straight wire inside.) and i must say that this dlink antenna is more fine tuned. The old high gain antenna is more scattered shapped doughnut in which gets more reception, but i feel that the dlink antenna is more of a narrower doughnut and requires more accuracy. Other then that, worth the money if a person is looking to have a more stable connection instead of looking for range improvements

5 out of 5 eggsGood price and it works!

Pros: Low price, easy installation, signal boost.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have a basic Netgear wireless router on one end of my house and my PC is on the other side. My signal strength at the PC has always been low to very low and my internet connection was only .5 Mbps to 1 Mbps. I removed the small 3 inch antenna installed on the back of the PCI card and replaced it with the D-Link. It only boosted the signal by one bar but my connection speed is now 7 to 9 Mbps. I'm happy!!!

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad for $11

Pros: Cheap, well made and it does make the signal stable.

Cons: What can you expect from refurb; it was banged up a bit and not in the best cosmetic appearance. Not a huge gain in the signal.

Other Thoughts: I played with HAM radio a bit so I have some understanding of Omni directional antennas. They tend to radiate signal in all directions and this is why my signal is rather more stable then stronger in the opposite corner of the house about 50ft away through three walls. My suggestion is if you want to get better signal then get a Yagi or directional antenna and use shortest cable possible for low loss. Bear in mind they are 2.4GHz antennas and may not match up to the 5GHz router band. I am searching the web to get a formula to get a corner reflector that would actually boos the signal and make it unidirectional something like 90-120 deg. When I purchased four of those refurbs I knew they would not be for aesthetics, but for functionality or simply parts so I was not expecting miracles from the units. The bottom line is the price was great and this is the reason I got four.

1 out of 5 eggsdid not come with SMA to TNC adapter

Pros: ehh... it works

Cons: Does not come with adapter, that is the reason why I gave this rating. It suppose to come with SMA to TNC adapter (which i dont need since i use SMA connection anyways). But the fact that i purchased something and a part is missing, that always upsets me.

the range... eeh, it made a small difference, but i plugged it into the router. This router is the DI-514 (802.11b) so theres no mimo or any crazy technology. This is old school signal and it kinda made a difference, but it looks nice on the dir-655 i have (rev A4, fw: 1.21). I doubt it will make the dir-655 better, if not it might just make it worse.. but for $11, its worth the price (compared to $36).

Other Thoughts: Even though i dont use TNC (usually for the old school linksys router), it didnt come with the adapter. It said that it comes with it on the description. If i am mistaken the please correct me. The antenna feels very cheap, and the base is pretty heavy and sturdy.

on the dir-655, i already have different high gain antenna, and all it does is makes the signal stable. Instead of going from very good to good and then back to very good, it just stays on very good. It doesnt increase distance, but it gives me a constant signal. This is from my results. Don't expect a long range, IMO.

Again, mine didnt come with a SMA to TNC adapter which is dissapointing. I should have gotten a discount because of that!
