1 out of 5 eggsNever, EVER worked

Pros: None.

Cons: Ordered one. Didn't work. Gave benefit of the doubt. Returned through newegg. Got replacement. Also didn't work.

Other Thoughts: Tried to power a ubiquiti device and it just wouldn't happen. Not the device, as we tried several different identical devices.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Customer,

Thank you for checking out our product.

We are sorry that this device didn't work out for you.

One thing to make sure is that the device you are powering is IEEE 802.3af compliant.

There are some passive PoE devices that don't use 802.3af which will not be powered by these Injectors.

Bad cables can be another factor that could cause the AP to not receive power from the Injector.

We do have a 24 hour technical support that you can call at any time or you may feel free to email me directly at

Best Regards!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks As Advertised

Pros: Pretty simple, as are most PoE injectors. Works perfectly with the SIP phone that I needed to power. Fairly small.

Cons: Would be nice to have a wall mount bracket or something like that.

Other Thoughts: Can't go wrong getting a TP-LINK PoE injector. I've got a few different models from them, and they all work perfectly fine.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine

Pros: I tested it with an industrial GigE Vision camera and didn't find any problems. Great value for your buck.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes it's job well

Pros: Small, lightweight, plug and play.

Seems to be reliable.

Cons: Not easily mounted, no provisions for wall mount. No bracket or mounting holes included.

Other Thoughts: PoE injectors are a life saver in some environments, allowing one to power PoE enabled cameras, phones, switches, splitters, etc.

This injector works fine with my network camera (TV-IP572PI).

Note that this is an active PoE injector. Make sure any devices to be used with this are 802.3af. Passive devices will not work.

It is nice that this is gigabit capable, which could help if I were running a PoE gigabit switch or a PoE all-in-one computer.

A CAT 6 cable will work better for longer distance runs since they use 23 AWG wires vs CAT 5's 24 AWG.

4 out of 5 eggsWorked with camera with no power outlet

Pros: Plug and play - works right out the box.

Quality - I have several TP-Link networking products and all function as well or better than the more expensive brands. I have confidence in TP-Link products.

Paired this with TP-LINK TL-POE10R PoE Splitter. I wanted to mount a IP camera upstairs attic and there was no outlet close enough. It was either running a 20 foot extension cord across the room or PoE and cat-5e. This injector combined with the TP-Link PoE Splitter allows you to install any ethernet device with12v, 9v, or 5v power requirement. I have an older IP Camera with a great picture, but only a 4 foot power cord.

The combination of PoE injector and splitter allowed me to place a camera where I had not power outlet. There is no lag in video even when camera is set to 1280 x 1024 so the PoE does not affect the data bandwidth. Accessed the camera from internet at remote location with good video.

For a single device this is just the ticket. If your camera or AP does not support PoE, adding a PoE splitter will solve that problem.

Cons: Price is a little high if you plan on using multiple PoE injectors. In that case, a PoE switch would be more economical.

I took off 1 egg for price for the simple fact that you can purchase a 4 port PoE switch for about $20 more. Not really a con when you only need 1 PoE connection.

Other Thoughts: If you have a switch or router that supports PoE, you won't need the splitter. If you have multiple PoE devices, it would make economical sense to use a PoE switch. I only had one device to install so a PoE switch was not necessary. Cat-5e is easy to hide so a long run (50ft) is a big improvement over long extension cord running across the room.

Pair this with a PoE AP and you can extend your network without the bandwidth limitations of wireless. A single Cat-5e or Cat-6 cable can extend your network without unsightly wires running all over the house.

I really like the wired IP camera now and it functions better than the wireless IP cameras. I have 4 wireless IP Cameras. At times, I am unable to capture motion detection because of the wireless bandwidth and limitations of the 2.4ghz signal. I also noticed my wireless cameras do not function well at max resolution when accessing from outside the LAN. I was able to access the PoE wired camera at 1280 x 1024 outside the LAN without freezing or lag in video.

This device has sold me on PoE. More reliable than wireless and much faster when paired with a gigabit router.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid PoE Injector

Pros: This injector allows you to power PoE devices, such as IP Cameras and commercial wireless access points with ease. I like to have a spare PoE injector handy, in case I need to quickly deploy a WiFi AP to relieve congestion during a meeting or event in an underserved area. I have recently had to deploy a mobile camera to deal with a property theft situation.

In any such case, this PoE injector will certainly get the job done! It has a color-changing LED on it, which will turn green if a PoE device is detected and powered up.

In my testing, this worked great for powering our Arecont Vision IP cameras as well as our Cisco 1242 wireless access points.

Doesn’t seem to get hot at all even when left on for extended periods of time, which is good if you’re going to be deploying yours long term. I left it running an IP camera over the weekend and it was not even warm to the touch on Monday.

Cons: It seems this injector may not be compatible with *every* PoE device. Your mileage may vary. While it did power up our Cisco 1242 wireless access points, our Cisco Aironet 1200 series access points didn’t seem to want to power up while they were plugged into this injector. They do work with all of our PoE switches.

Other Thoughts: All in all, I’ll be keeping this PoE injector handy for when I need portable PoE in a pinch. It’s very sleek and lightweight, so I would feel good deploying it in a mobile situation where it might be visible to the public.
