1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: None

Cons: DOA - Problem is I didn't get around to using it until a year after I purchased it. Now I can't replace it because it's too late.

I never even got a chance to try my new setup.

Other Thoughts: I should have tested it sooner.

1 out of 5 eggsPoE Injector was DOA

Pros: Any Pros TBD when I get a working device.

Cons: PoE Injector was DOA. The green power LED does not light up and no power is available from the Power+DataOut port.

Other Thoughts: Requested an RMA from Rosewill.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine.

Pros: Small, comes with a "wall-wart" that provides the proper voltage for the PoE. Has a power indicator.

Cons: None, really.

Other Thoughts: Could have a way to mount to the wall. Foam tape, holes to hang it from, a bracket, maybe? Not enough of an irritant to require removing an egg.

2 out of 5 eggsDidn't work with CISCO VOIP Phone

Pros: Compact and inexpensive

Cons: Wouldn't work with my CISCO VOIP Phone at work. It Powered it up and showed ethernet activity - but the phone went into an update and reboot loop (trying to upgrade firmward, failing, rebooting).

Back on corporate jack - phone is fine; back on this; reboot loop

Other Thoughts: The CISCO VOIP Phones at work are PoE and our cubicles have two 1Gb switch ports. The CISCO VOIP has integral 100bt switch. So for two machines (deskside, laptop docking station) one has to be plugged through the VOIP Phone.

I bought this so that one Cube port-->Netgear 5 portswitch ->{POE/CISCO VOIP; one of the machines} Thus both computers running 1GB on their ports and phone can diddle at 100bt

So there was some incompatability amongst the triplet of {Rosewill POE; Netgear 5 port ; Cisco VOIP}

Could some of the responsibility be the Netgear 5 port? Maybe. Main point is that you will just have to try this to see if it works, try different switches (or whatever) and if it doesn't return it.

1 out of 5 eggsDead on Arrival

Pros: Nice box?

Cons: Power supply works, but the PoE adapter is dead. So either the device plug on the power supply isn't making contact, or something in the adapter is bad. There's no way to open the unit to check, so I guess it's RMA time. Hopefully I'll get one that works next time.

5 out of 5 eggsInexpensive, but quality

Pros: Inexpensive
They work well and seem solid

Cons: None - (Just how hard could it be to make a good POE injector?)

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend these POE injectors. They're not expensive and they work well.
