The inside story. And the outside story, too.

With its durable unibody enclosure, LED-backlit display, and Multi-Touch trackpad, MacBook Pro looks beautiful. And works beautifully.

The design is not the only thing that makes the MacBook Pro a MacBook Pro. Fastest mobile processors and up to a 60 percent boost in graphics performance endow you with incredible power to do more than ever. Faster than ever. The MacBook Pro is also loaded with powerful new features, such as blazing fast Thunderbolt I/O technology, FaceTime HD camera, Multi-Touch trackpad, 802.11n wireless technology, long lasting battery and more, making a great notebook even greater.

  • newegg New processors and graphics. Pull out all the stops. The 15-inch MacBook Pro features the new 2.3GHz and 2.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processors with 6MB of shared L3 cache and Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.6GHz. And you can configure it to be even faster. Choose the 2.7GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 with 8MB of cache and Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.7GHz. And go for the new 512GB third-generation SATA solid-state drive, which is up to 4x faster than a traditional hard drive. To increase storage, upgrade to a 1TB hard drive. The new integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 processor boosts performance by up to 60 percent. That extra power gives you a smoother, more fluid experience than before. For graphics-intensive applications, the 15-inch MacBook Pro automatically switches to the new NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M discrete processor with up to 1GB of video memory. It’s also up to 60 percent faster than the previous generation, so you see more frames per second in 3D games and get greater speed and responsiveness for your HD video projects.
  • newegg Ports with possibility. The fastest, most versatile I/O in a notebook. Imagine accessing multiple streams of uncompressed HD video — from your MacBook Pro — at speeds that let you edit an HD feature film in real time. Thunderbolt technology allows you to connect the high-performance peripherals that make it possible. Ultrafast and ultraflexible, the Thunderbolt pipeline is up to 12 times faster than FireWire 800 and offers unprecedented expansion capabilities. And with this port, you can daisy-chain as many as six devices — including an Apple Thunderbolt Display and Mini DisplayPort peripherals — to create a full-fledged workstation. And it can easily connect with most devices using HDMI, VGA, DVI, or DisplayPort adapters. Two new USB 3 ports let you access a pipeline that’s up to 10 times faster than USB 2. If you have devices that use FireWire 800, there’s a port for that, too. And an SDXC card slot that supports up to 64GB cards makes it a snap to transfer all those photos to and from your MacBook Pro, so you can edit and share them on the spot.
  • newegg Multi-Touch trackpad. Be more hands-on. The Multi-Touch trackpad is the most natural way to interact with what’s on your screen, and the smooth glass surface gives you plenty of room for gestures. Pinch to zoom in and out, swipe to flip through photos, rotate to adjust an image, and much more. The buttonless design lets you click anywhere. And if you’re coming from a right-click world, you can right-click with two fingers or configure a right-click area on the trackpad. The more you use the Multi-Touch trackpad, the more you’ll wonder how you ever did without it.
  • newegg It’s very well connected. MacBook Pro automatically finds available networks and allows you to join them with a click. And the latest three-stream 802.11n wireless technology gives you the best possible performance at the greatest range. Bluetooth wireless technology is also built in, so you can use your favorite wireless accessories right out of the box.
  • newegg FaceTime HD camera. Say “hi” in high def. Get more of your friends in on the fun with crisp, widescreen HD video. The picture is so clear, it will look and feel almost like you’re in the same room. You can make 720p HD calls from your MacBook Pro to any Mac with a FaceTime HD camera. You can also make video calls to iPad, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch, and other Intel-based Mac computers.
  • newegg A long-lasting battery. Charge less. Do more. MacBook Pro delivers amazing battery life. And that’s with more powerful processors and faster graphics than ever. An energy-efficient processor architecture with an integrated video encoder, along with automatic graphics switching in the 15-inch model, helps improve battery life. So you can get up to 7 hours on a single charge.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent choice

Pros: Fast, sleek, well designed. Works really well hooked to a apple Thunderbolt Display in clamshell mode. Works just like a desktop and unhook 2 wires put it in a bag and you're off. Mountain Lion is great and integrates flawlessly with a iPhone or iPad and even with windows computers too. Fast enough to handle the 36 megapixel raw files out of my Nikon d800 in Lightroom and photoshop with ease. The trackpad is sweet to use with many useful gestures unlike windows machines that leave me wondering why they haven't done something with theirs. It has very good battery life when I do unplug it from the display. I really couldn't be happier with it.

Cons: Price

4 out of 5 eggsGood laptop

Pros: Build quality, specs, ability to dual boot OSX and Windows, via Boot Camp.

Cons: Price.

Other Thoughts: To the one star review below, what ignorance you display. No upgradeability? This laptop supports at least 16 Gb's RAM, and the HDD is a piece of cake to swap out. I put an SSD in mine. As for the rest of the hardware, I've never seen a laptop that had exchangeable CPU's and GPU's. As for the display, get the high-res antiglare screen. It's higher res than a lot of 15" machines and is very nice indeed. Sure it gets warm if you're gaming, but what discrete graphics wouldn't put out heat? So far it has been acceptable. As for the price? Let people spend their money where they want. For that price you get a powerhouse laptop with a build quality second to none, and as I mentioned before, the ability to natively boot Windows. It's almost like getting two laptops in one...

5 out of 5 eggsHeld back by the HDD

Pros: This is an excellent high powered machine. Will run all programs in OSX like butter. Gets you access to the OSX ecosystem and windows ecosystem in the same machine. The sturdiest and sleekest design you will find. If you're looking for professional grade, consider this one.

Cons: The system is sadly held back by the HDD. You will notice the CPU rarely taxed, even when running dual systems. Any hesitation in the system is caused by the underpowered HDD.

Other Thoughts: If you're goin to go to this price tier, do yourself a favor and buy a 256GB SSD and appropriate screwdriver to remove the back (as described by Ifixit). Follow their complete instructions to install your SSD. My MacBook Pro 13" base model with an SSD beats this machine in speed of typical functions.

5 out of 5 eggsSleak and reliable

Pros: Apple makes great systems. I have used this particular one which my sister owns. Works flawlessly today as the day she bought it.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Windows fanboys are not only loathsome but rude to boot. Get a life or at least a clue. Stop being so hateful to those happy with their choice of systems.

I use Linux on all my systems so none of you matter to me, rude and stupid people just annoy me.

1 out of 5 eggswhy even sell this computer?

Pros: none. its a mac. nuff said
well it has a fast i7 thats it...

Cons: what do you get for 2200? a fast i7, 650m graphics with (1GDDR5 VRAM). 8gb of ram... no upgradeability. a 5400 rpm hdd XD. so sad... a 900p moniter. very questionable cooling solutions.

Other Thoughts: newegg why do you even sell this computer? this is a tech website. while i know people who would pay 2200 for a under powered computer none of them would ever visit this site... just a thought. buy this instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152337
