Great product.
- Pros: Systems specs are prefect for what I was looking for.
The hard drive space is good for anything you'll need. None of the newer games can play on this, but I would recommend this laptop for those who use Photoshop or produce music.
2GB ram is great for Vista. I tweaked my Vista to run smoother and faster. Check up on Vista tweaking sites if you want to run 2GB with Vista.
Graphics card play Titan Quest, but a little chuggy.
DVD burner is quick and easy to use with my programs.
15.4" Wide screen is pleasing to the eyes. The glossy screen is hard to read where direct sunlight is shown, so I use mine at night or in a dark room.
Wireless works exceedingly well in any occasion.
- Cons: The led lights are a bit bright when it is charging at night. Though if your room is messy, you can find your lappy much easier.
First day was getting the drivers to work with everything. The webcam drivers are still a little messed up, but I don't use it that much for it to matter. Besides you can purchase a better quality portable webcam for under $10 these days.
The battery can get pretty hot. Remember to ventilate it and never allow it to be under anything to block the fan from cooling the heat down.
- Other Thoughts: I played American McGee's GRIMM on this and I had to turn all the settings down to play. That game is still enjoyable nonetheless.
Get this if you are on a budget like I was. Worth your monies to the max. ;]
uber laptop
- Pros: this thing is uber. it multitasks like a pro and handles everything i throw at it pretty well. i do website and graphic design and its taken everything i've thrown at it well. the only thing i'm weary about is rendering. other than that, the duel core pwns. the speakers are good, and battery life is nothing to complain about. amazing screen size, clarity, and resloution. the integrated graphics card also has a few nice options. the cd drive works great too. i already have burned over 50 cds for various bands and it works perfectly.
- Cons: for this price, there should be none. my only gripe is the outside shell. its shiny and such. if you're like me and don't like finger prints then it might bother you.
- Other Thoughts: this laptop is a champ. the 2 gbs of ram really helps with vista. run pcdecrapifier and ccleaner when you first get it. it will make it run so much faster. this thing runs pretty cool too. under full load it can get a little hot but put it on a glass surface and it will be fine.
Excellent Deal
- Pros: I have bought 10 of these laptops for customers and they have all worked flawlessly. Newegg’s price with shipping is still the cheapest I can find and shipping is excellent, I get it from the Tennessee warehouse usually the next day. I will not sell a laptop with less than 2GB of Ram when Vista is installed regardless of the version; it is nice not to have to worry about that. Most of these have gone to kids as high school graduation presents and a few for business use, and they have been performing like a charm. Easy setup, enough processor and memory for general everyday use.
- Cons: If you use the McAfee make sure you update it before doing anything else, I have had a few blue screens and it was the result of McAfee, once it was updated there were no more problems.
- Other Thoughts: Bloatware is on most new computers and I can’t say that there is any more or less on this laptop, it is to be expected anymore. Every one of these laptops were factory new, and flawless in appearance.
