5 out of 5 eggsOverall good deal

Pros: HDMI, Bluetooth, 250Gig Hard drive, and looks great...how can you go wrong with a deal like this? Most laptops with the same features will cost you quite a bit more. Granted the laptop is refurbished but it looks new, and so far works great.

Cons: True it is loaded with quite a bit of needlessware as i like to call it. A little work effort and system works great. I wish the battery life was a bit longer....2 to 2.5 hours is what i'm peaking on it...which i think could be better. overall not bad.

Other Thoughts: I think this laptop is a good deal for anyone looking for the most features AND the best price. You will be buying a machine with al imited 3 month warranty, but somtimes it is worth the risk. I like the laptop so far and most any problem I ran into it, was solved the same day. Good buy overall and recommend to anyone with a want with all the features with a price not to high dollar.

5 out of 5 eggsJust Awesome!!!

Pros: Awesome laptop for the price...

Cons: Does run very hot on the vent side, but i use it as a desktop replacement, so it wont be on my lap often. The heat does not affect the performance. About 65 C.

Other Thoughts: Was refurbished, but it was just as new. NOT A SCRATCH ON IT.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Outstanding product for the price. Lots of junk programs to be removed though. Can't tell item is refurbished, Looks brand new.

Cons: Wish it was available with XP instead of Vista, Vista sucks. I don't understand why computer companies allow Microsoft to dictate what operating software they should put on there product. Vista is just to big a memory hog.

Other Thoughts: I plan to try to get drivers and replace the operating software with Xp in the near future if at all possible. Should make a big difference in the speed of the computer.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat With Problems

Pros: Great laptop, great price.

Cons: I received this with what appears to be a bad RAM module. I've called Gateway and they've promised to mail me a new one for no additional charge.

Other Thoughts: Not a lot of bloatware, I expected far more. Overall I've been happy with it.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Good Value

Pros: Just arrived and I am happy the drivers were mostly up-to-date and that there were no technical difficulties booting the system. I've installed several programs and ran several benchmarks to test system performance. So far there haven't been any negative problems with the hard drive, integrated video, or anything else so far. Seems to be the good value buy I was hoping for.

Cons: Like stated: This came loaded with junk software, but it's fairly easy to remove for novice users. I would've preferred that Vista Home weren't pre-loaded, but I guess we're all being forced to use it.

Other Thoughts: Never bought a re-certified computer before, but I got pretty much what I expected from this system. The keyboard layout is comfortable and the webcam is convenient although I'll never use it. I plan to run this system constantly for the entire 14 days to make sure there aren't any problems with the power supply or battery. Gateway laptops has been known to ship batteries/poor power units that were later recalled. I'd recommend making sure your system performs well.

5 out of 5 eggsGateway M-1615 --- Nice

Pros: big hard drive, decent processor, 2gigs Ram, card reader, low price. This machine had everything I was looking for. So far it has done everything I have asked of it, and done it very well. Excellent glossy screen, keyboard has very good tactile feel. New Egg shipped quickly.

Cons: both memory slots taken by 2gigs of Ram, so will need to ditch 1 gig chip to upgrade, Vista sucks, but can't blame that on the computer. Lots of sample software and games on machine, took a long time to remove. Battery on the smaller side (4300 mah, seems to last 2-1/2ish hours.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this machine offers an amazing value for the money. I will probably buy several for my company.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Deal!

Pros: Excellent buy for the money! Bluetooth is a great upgrade for connecting my Blackberry. Wireless keeps a constant, strong conneciton. Battery is good for 2 hrs of surfing. Light enough to carry when I travel.

Cons: A TON of bloatware! It really bogs the machine down so I can only give it a 4 out of 5. If you're a novice, goto add/remove programs and blow all of the "junk" programs out! If you're more advanced, read below...

Other Thoughts: This is my 3rd Recertified Gateway. All of them were pre-loaded with junk programs (30-day trials, silly games, etc) that really slow it down. Goto the Gateway website, punch in your model number, download all of your drivers. In my case, I had to goto ATI for my Video Driver, had to pull the audio driver off of my hard drive. This is a unique case, my previous two Gateway's had ALL of the drivers available from the website. Once you have all of the drivers, do a full factory restore using the included CD (it only has the OS, no bloatware OR factory drivers / Vista drivers only). I like to use my Win98 CD to completely wipe all of the partitions to get a clean OS install. Once done, you'll have a GREAT running machine! Planning on installing SP1 this weekend. I will post an update if I run into any troubles that you need to know about.
