2 out of 5 eggsHot Brick

Pros: Relatively fast for its small body.

Cons: Too much heat generated. Even from web browsing.

Battery doesn't last very long as well. Acer was willing to put a 6 cell but Gateway only put a 3 cell.

Other Thoughts: It's gone, no longer mine.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Purchase Ever

Pros: => Comes with Windows XP, not Win7 Starter
=> 1024x600 res
=> Easily boot from USB drives by pressing "Esc" on startup
=> Near full size keyboard (takes a little time to get used to, but nowhere near as hard to get used to as an iPhone keyboard)
=> Built in webcam
=> Hardware switch for WiFi (on front)
=> Function keys for about everyting
=> Weighs VERY LITTLE (I carry it like a typical notepad)

Cons: => Viewing angle. There are some "sweet spots" and some "not so sweet spots"
=> Resolution. It takes a little while to get used to, but in the end it's fine
=> Wireless chipset is a Broadcom BCM4312 I believe. Linux drivers *ARE* available, but does not work with Aircrack

Other Thoughts: I love my netbook. I take it everywhere; in car rides, on the plane, even on the bus to school sometimes. It makes for a perfect network diagnostics tool.

I purchased this on Black Friday for almost 1/2 of the advertised price here. I'd still pay the money Newegg is asking for it though.

Exam 4 Test Taking ( Law School )

CHEAP

Cons: You cannot play anything other than 2 dimensional games like bejeweled on a netbook.

Other Thoughts: I was very hesitant to buy a netbook because I heavily rely on laptops for note-taking and test-taking in law school. But I'm so glad that I bought it. It weighs a fraction of what my old laptop costs and can slip into the front section of my backpack.

It is easy to type on, and I've taken some finals on it with no problems whatsoever. The network connection works fantastic, and the laptop is good looking overall.

Netbooks ARE laptop replacements contrary to all the B.S. said by companies trying to sell higher-profit margin items and consumers who over spent. They're not as suitable for HEAVY computer usage such as gaming or compiling . They don't have a DVD drive or burner for making movies. If you want a gaming computer or movie computer buy a desktop.

Laptops aren't that great for those uses anyway.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Netbook

Pros: Price: I bought it the day before thanksgiving for almost 100 dollars off of the currently listed price! go go newegg plus free shipping!
As always lightning fast shipping.
Performance: Fast for a little thing it is! WiFi picks up every where and runs smooth.
Very Little Bloat ware: only a few trial soft wares that were very easily deleted.
Head Phone Jack: rocking good sound threw head phones!
Windows Xp Is great on Net books

Cons: Battery life is really only two hours when surfing the web 8( but its only a 3 cell battery so i knew what i was getting into.
Sound through on board speakers is very poor.

Other Thoughts: Overall for the price to performance ratio is fantastic. It's a netbook after all people!
Buy it!
Camp newegg like i did for the good deal 8)

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding netbook.

Pros: Extremely portable and light. Bright screen. Surprisingly fast. Nice keyboard. Works great on wireless network.

Cons: Few cons on this one. The touchpad is a little hard to get used to at first. The case doesn't seem as rugged as other netbooks I've seen, but will be fine as long as it's not dropped.

Other Thoughts: Got it at an outstanding B.F. discount, and it's worth every penny. Outstanding netbook for the price. Highly recommended.
