5 out of 5 eggsReliable, still going after 3+ years

Pros: Great laptop for the price. Can even play some games at lower settings. Dual core cpu was pretty powerful for the price when this came out. Screen brightness and quality are good, contrast ratio looks good. Speakers are good for laptop speakers.

Cons: Battery life is not good. Headphone jack is on the front which can be a problem for lap use. A bit heavy.

Other Thoughts: Had this laptop for over 3 years and it's still working great.

5 out of 5 eggsGood laptop

Pros: The laptop performs as expected

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I bought this laptop for my Father who is not the most tech savy, but he has found it easy to use. The battery life is more then enough for his needs and so far there are no complaints.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Bargain

Pros: Graphics card runs WoW well, 25 fps in Dalaran on full settings (- shadows). Drops in fps for areas of long view distances at that high of settings but manageable and impressive for a low end card.

This has an atheros wireless, making it perfect for linux. Everything works perfectly under arch linux, only needs a pci=msi line on kernel for suspend to work.

Runs perfectly on Windows 7 as well.

I couldn't even tell this was refurbished except for the awesome price.

Battery life is pretty good, I'm about to get about 3 hours out of it on power saving mode, roughly an hour and a half while playing games.

Cons: Vista. Exhaust port is on bottom which makes it get hot if you use it on non-solid surfaces.

Other Thoughts: Free upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 (32-bit only) is included. Went ahead and put Windows 7 RC on it, now that Windows 7 retail is out I'll put that on.

This is nice for casual gaming, say if you have desktop problems, lan party, going to friends house, etc.

5 out of 5 eggsMobile College Computer

Pros: This laptop is fast, works great, wifi ready and I have been thrilled with it so far!

Cons: The onboard graphics are nice, but not powerful enough to be a gaming laptop.

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend this laptop for any business, student or internet needs.

4 out of 5 eggsgood lap

Pros: Runs great for a vista with 2 gigs aswell most games, geting 4 gigs soon. Very nice looking laptop big and light. It was shipped fast, looks brand new.

Cons: Its 32 bit =( wish it was 64 dont really like vista for playing games it has problems playing old games and some software.

Other Thoughts: The price was not bad if the special had stayed on longer i would have got more then 1 laptop. im not a vista fan but im starting to like some things about it and it's going to make my life easyer in collage.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy!!!!

Pros: the specs on this laptop and the price its worth, i think its a great deal! good for any college student who is in college as this is a budget pc too! graphics are good for the price your getting this at. i havent tested hardcore games yet but with the other reviews i read, it can run games like WoW and Fallout 3 (might be a bit laggy tho)

also when i got my laptop, it looked like it was new :D

i think that this laptop is good for general use too (mild gaming, watching movies, doing homework, office work) so its a good laptop :D

Cons: i dont know what the name for the slot is but its jammmed with the button there...i dont really think ill use that slot but that was the only problem i had with it (a reference picture would be the 3rd to last picture and its to the right of the ethernet port) would like to know how to get it unjammed though.

also one of the bottom pannels (the hardrive pannel) was sticking out a bit so i just unscrewing it and put it back in to fix it so nothing too major and the system ran fine.

Other Thoughts: when i bought this laptop, i thought ill be getting one without the numberpad but when i got it, mine had the number pad. so i guess newegg got it mixed up >.< but regardless, i didnt mind the keypad. dont forget to put 2 gb of ram as it does make the system much better and faster! I'll need to test the battery just to see how long it will last as i think it did lasted about 1 hour and 30 mins already...but it wasnt on full charge

it does get a little hot on the bottom of the laptop but i just elevate it so its fine. i havent had problems with it yet, i just dont like my laptop too hot.

dont forget to uninstall all the bloatware

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Does everything you would expect from a sub 400 dollar computer, plus some. Very nice crisp, clear screen. Very comfortable keyboard. Can run some of the most played online games, such as CSS and WOW, don't expect much more, but then again why would you even expect that from a sub 400 dollar computer.

Cons: Doesn't qualify for the free windows 7 upgrade, so you will have to go out and purchase that yourself.

Other Thoughts: Definetly worth the money if your not expecting to be playing any new game with it. that not to say you cant play games, if you upgrade the ram to 4 gigs and then either get windows 7 or xp, you will have a much more potent rig, however it still wont earn itself the title of gaming rig. Defiantly a great buy for any student looking for a good computer for school.

4 out of 5 eggsCompaq CQ60

Pros: Very good laptop for doing just about anything except playing graphic intense game. Bought it for my wife to play around on the internet and what not. Could not beat the price.

Cons: Did not qualify for the windows 7 upgrade. Have to upgrade memory for full potential, but still a great price.

3 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: You get a decent laptop for the price. Everything is average. Not a powerhouse by any means.

Cons: It runs Microsoft Vista. And 2gb of ram.....vista allready runs like turtle droppings. . It needs at least 4gb. But i didnt have that problem. I immediatley put debian linux on it, and have had no problems. I cant get virus's like every windows user.

Other Thoughts: Put linux on this laptop and you wont regret it. Or just get a mac. Stay away from vista and windows7!!!!!
