1 out of 5 eggsWarranty?!? Ha!

Pros: Using a tablet for school notes is great. I can search for notes.

Cons: The latch, LCD and motherboard died. Toshiba warranty services is refused to honor even the regular warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Tablet

Pros: Lightweight and easy to use tablet. Has everything one could want for a business tablet. Good battery life and excellent wireless capabilities make this a pleasant travel companion. Watching movies on a flight or getting work done this is great! Vista business is much better than XP tablet edition in terms of writing reconition etc. Great buy!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Would be nice if Toshiba would offer some upgrade coupon for an optical drive or if newegg would carry the drive to purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsA good starter tablet

Pros: Great tablet responsiveness, Vista's tablet support programs, reasonable battery life, a few neat bundled programs, fingerprint reader, and, of course, the price.

Cons: Fan is quite audible when running full speed, more or less stuck with Vista, not a perfect lockdown in tablet mode (interesting being precise on screen edges), no optical drive, thickness.

Other Thoughts: Toshiba's expansion slot is a nice idea, save for the fact that their expansions (which are not a standard size) are $$$. I've also had some issues with my keys and/or trackpad not being as responsive as I'd like, but that may be my model. Some fun programs that come with it though - an accelerometer utility that allows you to set a function to occur when the laptop is shook (both side to side or up and down), a bluetooth remote camera setup with a cell phone. The fingerprint reader is slow, but is nice when booting in tablet mode. Also be aware of the physical dimensions of this product, I thought a 12.1" would be much smaller than this is. Not a bad thing per se, just unexpected.

4 out of 5 eggsA decent model

Pros: Light. Cool. Good battery life: 2.5 - 4 hours on full charge. Somewhat quiet. Good system security. Excellent placement of ports and fan. Great tablet pen responsiveness. Works with DDR2/667 PC5300 ram (comes with 2x512 PC5300): I installed a 2gb stick to bring my system to 2.5gb.

Cons: No optical drive included. Flexible film keyboard connector makes installing RAM a little tricky. Too much bundled software on top of Vista on top 1gb RAM makes for a slow experience, however, taking most of the excess stuff out helped significantly.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't recommend this box to a novice user, but a tech geek could have a little fun with it. Since there's no option to downgrade to Windows XP, you're stuck with Vista if you want to keep the warranty. Thus, be sure to get a 2gb RAM stick to get decent performance, but be careful installing it as the keyboard is connected to the mainboard by a film strip connector and is easy to knock out.

4 out of 5 eggsNice graphic design/modeling tablet

Pros: Lightweight; however, it's not ultramobile, but at 5 lbs, it's still good on the go.

Good Battery in a modified Power Saver mode (reduced brightness and resolution), I get a good 3 1/2 hours of use (Photoshop CS3 on a 2560x1600px canvas), even though I prefer being plugged in.

Accuracy is very good, draws as accurately as on physical media (paper/canvas)

3D packages run on it well; I prefer Maya 8.5 and have loaded it onto this laptop

Cons: Minor annoyance in tablet mode, the rotating latch doesn't completely lock; the screen is suspended around 1/8th inch above the keyboard, allowing enough give when dynamic pressure is applied near edges to cause minor slip errors in desired strokes.

Fingerprint reader is only for those with a great deal of patience; a manual password is much quicker.

I despise clutter and useless software; I spent a good 30 minutes coring down the 'goodies' that came pre-installed.

No CD/DVD drive, please note this. I knew this purchasing it, and you may not fully realize the inconvenience it will cause if you wish to load CD media.

Other Thoughts: Overall, it is very good at what it does; big power in a small package. I would definitely recommend it to anyone I came across who was interested in a tablet. (Although I do wish it had the convenience of a cd/dvd drive)

4 out of 5 eggsmy laptop

Pros: It's a (semi-)ultraportable Tablet PC at approximately the same price as many non-tablets with similar specs. Tablet mode is useful sometimes. The pen and screen simulate pen and paper surprisingly well. Performs well and doesn't get too hot; good Core 2 Duo processor inside.

Cons: The keyboard isn't quite fullsize, though I got used to it quickly. There's no internal optical drive; booting off an external USB one seems to be impossible. Thumbprint scanner is finicky to the extent that I can type in passwords faster than using it.

Other Thoughts: Vista is both a pro (better tablet support than Windows XP Tablet Edition) and a con (many issues).

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Processor, Memory, Weight. Some very cool software installed with it (Mine makes a sound like an Etch-a-sketch when I shake it!)

Cons: No optical drive, Fan is not loud, but audible.

5 out of 5 eggsJust got it.

Pros: Solid build, good screen, overall plenty fast, finger-print reader is easy and accurate. This machine is light, very portable. Comes with tons of software, but only some of it is not trial. No technical complaints yet, reasonalbe price.

Cons: NO TABLET PEN. Don't know what happened at Toshiba, but someone forgot to include my pen. I'm ordering one from Newegg but can't comment on recognition until then. I don't expect much help from Toshiba for the pen either.

Other Thoughts: Recommend that you purchase an extra tablet pen when you purchase this, just in case. Also check out a program called "evernote" - evernote.com Good stuff for writing recognition and searches.
