Great Value
- Pros: Well built, solid keyboard, great specs for the price
- Cons: The only thing I came up with is that the touch page doesn't scroll
Excellent
- Pros: Perfect design, no obnoxious bright blue lights or anything. The price is perfect, purchased outside of newegg for $475. Battery life is great (3 hours +)
- Cons: Due to Vista being resource hungry, I purchased an extra 1gb of ram to smooth everything out. The top can scratch easily.
- Other Thoughts: I purchased this laptop to replace my old Vaio p4 from my 1st year in college (2004). This laptop does everything a college student needs. If you're looking for something cheap with great performance for everyday use, then this laptop is for you!

excellent laptop for the price
- Pros: Great design, solid case, good keyboard response, great sound system, runs much cooler than my Dell Inspiron. All of the 'plug-in' areas are on the side (easy to get to).
- Cons: 1G Memory is not enough for Vista - go the extra bit and go to 2 G. All of the 'plug-in' areas are on the side (get in the way sometimes)
- Other Thoughts: I have always had good luck with Toshibas in terms of durability. This one also is a great price for a lot of features. 2G Memory makes Vista work just fine.
Nice
- Pros: Very nice laptop. Ports are well-placed. Quality appearance. Not sure how performance is with 1GB RAM but with 2GB it is running great.
- Cons: Audio isn't as impressive as I'd read. Sound quality is merely OK and volume level is only adequate.
There is a gap beneath the F-keys through which you can see the underlying spring mechanism - looks kinda cheap and detracts from the otherwise quality appearance of the unit.
- Other Thoughts: This is the first laptop I've owned (I've used others) and I'm very happy with it so far. After all the gripes I've read about Vista since its release, I was expecting to wipe the drive and install XP and Linux in a dual-boot, but Vista has turned out (so far) to be just fine -- even better than XP -- so I'll probably keep Vista and dual-boot it with Linux.
- Pros: This notebook is so freaking awesome. Mind you, I purchased it outside of newegg for $430, so I wasn't expecting much. It ran pretty fast on the 1GB of RAM that it comes with. I got rid of all the junkware and installed an extra gig of RAM, and it really took off. No problems running Vista, and boots up and shuts down pretty fast. So much better than my VAIO, which cost way more money and keeps on dropping my internet connection. So annoying. My Toshiba on the other hand picks up wireless networks great and won't drop the connection. The screen is crisp and clear - no dead pixels. I also really like how the front cover is a shiny blue. I have no problems whatsoever and I love this computer.
- Cons: It doesn't seem very sturdy. Be careful not to drop it or bang it against something.
- Other Thoughts: I basically use this to check email, surf the net, word process, and listen to music. My needs are pretty basic, so I think this would be a great laptop for a basic needs person.
