Great laptop but...

Pros: Fast, solid machine. Excellent graphics. 64 bit Vista rocks! Using Comodo firewall since neither ZoneAlarm nor Sunbelt support 64 bit. I'm not a gamer but I use it for business and as a media center and it does an excellent job.

Cons: Atheros wireless is problematic. Turning on the switch before or after boot up and it shows as disabled. Reboot usually resolves this but it's a PITA. It also would not start from sleep without a reboot. Fixed that by setting OS to keep WLAN live when sleeping.

Other Thoughts: Overall outstanding except for the Atheros WLAN. Toshiba should have used Intel.

Pros: I purchased this laptop after about a week's search of laptops. It is not for my use, but my step son's. I spent a weekend working with it, installing Office 2007 and some other programs, and removed some that came with. It was a joy to work on this laptop and it was competitively priced with all the features it came with. I don't think you will be disappointed with it.

Cons: The glossy finish show fingerprints, but I was aware of this after reading a review.

Other Thoughts: You can purchase extended warranties through the manufacturerer at very reasonable prices. I purchased a three year accidental coverage and and extended warranty for $239.00. You can also purchase theft protection from Lojack. As always Newegg shipped it out right away. I ordered it on a Thursday afternoon and received it the next day. Thanks for the great service Newegg!
