Great computer
- Pros: Fast.
Discrete graphics - can play games well.
Nice looking machine.
Great build quality.
Even Vista seems fast.
- Cons: Glossy finish is fingerprinty.
- Other Thoughts: I would have preferred a matte finish. I mean--this exact machine, with a matte or even slightly testured finish, and I would have rated this 5 out of 5.
Speed wise, you can play virtually any game currently released on this laptop. For example, I tested out Left 4 Dead, and it runs great.
My only beef is that I use this for work and it is a little rcy looking. I wish it were more professional looking.
You can get these mobile AMD laptops that perform comparably with Core 2 Duo Intels, but for $200 cheaper.
I was sorried about it, but I am not any more. Great purchase, great machine.
Nice Laptop
- Pros: Very smooth operating keyboard, runs cool and very fast. It runs multi programs very well at the same time. Very good buy for the price.
- Cons: none.
Installed XP
- Pros: Installed the Vista drivers at Toshiba site for XP and used my 780G motherboard drivers for the rest was able to get them all. Their is a mod out on the web for the mobility graphics card if you want to update to the latest ATI graphics drivers in Vista. I did install XP on a spare 80G hard drive I had to keep warranty intact.
- Cons: Toshiba software add-ons, short battery life.
- Other Thoughts: I hope AMD is around for a long time, otherwise this laptop for the money would not be possible.
