2 out of 5 eggsNot that good

Pros: First of all, I purchase this one in 2010. And it's Thanksgiving. The price is the same. And after i purchased for couple months. I found out that the wifi have the problem. and couple months later, the wifi death. It's ok for me, because the wifi death you can buy a wifi adapter for couple dollar. And couple months later, the customer's feedback shows it's too hot, so they decided to upgrade the BIOS in order to keep the heat down. At the beginning i think its a good thing, so i also upgrade the BIOS. But the most terrible thing is the power supply have some problem, when it's charging, if you move the computer , just 1cm. it will stop charging. So this is the most terrible thing in my life, and i wont suggest toshiba anymore, ANYMORE, FOREVER>

Cons: Same

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for school!!!

Pros: It has a long battery life on average on my settings. it gets 6 hours.
Its really light about 3-4 pounds which is a plus for college students such as myself.
Awesome carbon fiber-like pattern on shiny black surface.
It has the probability of a netbook but the power of a laptop, the best of both.

Cons: Fingerprints, fingerprints, FRINGERPRINTS!!!
The trackpad is a little weird.. cant explain it.
The webcam could be a little better.

Other Thoughts: It a steal at this price!!!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat performance - Reliability Issues

Pros: I wanted an ultra-portable computer w/ long battery life, for personal management and productivity usage. I have a separate desktop for my power needs. Using custom battery settings w/ slightly higher display brightness than ECO mode and longer screen-dim time, I get about 6:30 of battery life on a full charge! Windows 7 boots very quickly, general performance for internet, multimedia, and productivity apps is excellent. The HDMI port has been 100% plug and play with every HDTV I've tried so far... both sound and video transfer seamlessly. Plenty of hard drive space and memory. There's a cool feature where I can charge my USB devices even when the laptop is unplugged (it automatically stops charging if your battery life sinks below a user-defined percentage). I haven't experienced any lag on any app, even using dual-screen mode to 1080p HDTV while streaming Netflix.

Cons: My down arrow key has become kind of mushy, and no longer responds well if I press along the top edge. I'm still trying to get used to the keyboard size. It's not really that small (much better than netbooks) but my hands are kinda big, so I'm still getting used to touch-typing on it.

Other Thoughts: I think it's a great deal for what you get. Performance is more than adequate for general usage, and the 13.3" is much more useable than the small netbook screens. It's also super light at <4 lbs. As long as the down arrow key remains the only issue with this laptop, I'll be totally satisfied with the purchase (speaking of which, I hope to have that fixed soon, hopefully Toshiba customer services is good).

5 out of 5 eggsVery light and portable with great battery life

Pros: Very thin, will fit about any bags or cases and they are extrememly light for its size, performance etc... I wanted something more than a netbook but not anything super high performance, this is a perfect notebook for people that are willing to sacrifice some performance for lightweight and portability (by performance I mean 3D gaming and such...)

The battery on these laptops last a VERY LONG time specially if you are on Toshiba's preset ECO mode.

Cons: * Lacks a CD/DVD rom drive but that's same with most thin/lightweight laptops these days. Plus external drives are cheap these days anyway.

* One thing that I'm really disappointed with this laptop is the volume level. Even at the highest volume settings, I can't really hear it well since the sounds come from the bottom of the laptop plus the super low volume settings.

Other Thoughts: Before buying any laptop, you must know exactly what you are looking for. If you are going to be playing 3D games, this is not for you. If your main duties are casual web surfing, emails, word processing (i.e. ms office) and movies etc... this laptop is a perfect candidate while being very portable and lightweight.
