Pros: I don't have this exact computer, however I do have the slightly nicer version. This is the best computer I've owned yet. As with other reviewers, I would say remove the "crapware" through Add/Remove Programs, or format the hard drive. Also, if you order direct from Toshiba, then I would highly suggest getting the backlit keyboard. It's a great help when typing in the dark.
Cons: The battery life, which is to be expected with a laptop of this size. It's really not that awful though. 3 hours isn't too bad.

Rating: 5/5Great Laptop!
Pros: Great processor speed, RAM, video card, and very easy to use.
Cons: After the first bootup and installing some software and drivers, it took FOREVER to boot up after restarting, fixed that by removing factory software and other programs that i don't really need. Very fast bootup now.
Other Thoughts: To those that mentioned formatting the computer and reinstalling Windows and only programs that you need, how do you get a copy of the Windows 7 to reinstall on your computer? and also, how do you install a windows default driver after uninstalling the factory ones?

Rating: 5/5re: It's Okay
Pros: To the guy who wrote it's okay if the performance is slow its because you left all the factory junk on it. Take and format the computer and put on only what you need and this laptop flys. I only had this lapop for 20 minutes and i started tor erase and re-install what I wanted. i put windows 7 ultimate one and it really works good. then i installd the drivers from toshiba for the side buttons and eco pack. then whatever software that I wanted.
Cons: None after the format. Amazing how good video playback is along with games.
Other Thoughts: Deffently needs formating when you get it. The factory software and setting are set too low.

Rating: 3/5It's okay...
Pros: This laptop performs adequately. I would have prefered the sound and music keys that glow on the side to be moved to the top of the keyboard. That would have provided more real estate for the regular keyboard, which feels scrunched. I regularly hit the alt key instead of the space key because of this.
The screen is big. I am getting used to the quality of it. I felt the Dell's lcd was better on my ancient Inspiron 9100 was sharper and more crisp. I will mess with the settings to see if I can fix it.
It is pretty to look at, but I am not sure I care for the new keys. I don't get the same tactile feel that I had with the old laptop. But this could just be because I really did love the old laptop. I will get used to this one too.
And I am glad I can touch type, because trying to see the keys in dark places is difficult. Because of the shiny material, and muted white print, it makes it hard to look down and type.
Cons: It came with an abundance of software I probably will not use too much. I appreciate the effort, but it has slowed the performance of this pc, and I don't feel the speed increase I should going from a P4 laptop with 2GB RAM to a Dual core processor with 4GB of RAM. I will be looking to upgrade to 8GB of RAM soon (which I had planned on anyway.)
Picture quality of the webcam is acceptable, but works much better in good light situations. It does have an led that attempts to brighten a picture or video, but it is not sufficient in really dark rooms.
I was kind of expecting better sound quality, since Dolby is on this laptop. I need to play with the settings more probably.
As I write this review, I can't help feeling that the keys are not going to be durable for long. I am a heavy typist, and they feel kind of flimsy to touch. This may be normal for a laptop in this price range however.
Other Thoughts: Overall, it does what it is supposed to do. Setup on my WiFi was easy, and NewEgg rocks! They threw in a free Wireless router that I will keep as a backup. Win7 home premium is great, and I love the new interface. This is my first Toshiba, because I usually prefer DELL. But to get a DELL with these specs would have cost at least another grand. I hope this experience turns more positive over time, because I hope to keep this laptop a long time.

Pros: Amd Turion II 64 bit, 18.4" screen. What laptop comes with that big of a screen these days. This thing is like a Cadillac of Toshiba laptops. Has great response time for actions. 4gb of memory up to 8gb that's pretty good. Runs good with Windows 7 home premium even better with 7 ultimate. I wiped mine clean the day I got it and put Windows 7 Ultimate on.
Cons: Finding a case big enough to carry it around with you. I found one on A m a z o n for $26.99 every where else they had only one or were out of stock, or did not carry them that big.
Other Thoughts: Longer battery life would be nice, but the one it comes with gives you at least 3 hours on balanced settings.

Rating: 4/5Great laptop
Pros: Nice bright screen (mine came with a Samsung) Nice keyboard Nice design Best speakers I've heard on any laptop.
Cons: The battery only lasts about 90 minutes. The mouse refresh rate is slow with the Synaptics driver installed. To fix this problem, uninstall the Synaptics driver and use the windows default driver. Also, the speakers didn't sound too good when I first received the laptop. I uninstalled the Realtek HD Audio Driver and used the windows default driver and the sound was MUCH louder and clearer.
Other Thoughts: This is a great laptop with a few slight flaws. Hopefully a BIOS update will fix the small annoyances.
