Pros: Not a bad computer.Runs fast with the 1Gb ram and decent processor. Nice screen. well packaged. And Newegg of course...

Cons: This laptop runs extremely HOT...I have contacted Acer on their online support 3 times about this and they have not answered at all...Am currently having issues with the WiFi...Will not connect to my network...It was working but just stopped...Other computers on network work fine...Acer hasn't answered that email either...Online Tech support really sucks!! There are better computers out there for the $$$$

Other Thoughts: Very Disappointed in Acer..Thought they were a better company than they are...I guess seeing all those glossy pages in the computer magazines means nothing!

Pros: Very Fast, Not Lockup's or crashes so far. I dropped it down the stairs and it still works though I wouldn't recomend it. Overall Great machine for an even better price.

Cons: Cheap Feeling the screen feels flimsy and overall it just feels cheap. Gets EXTREMELY hot on the bottom and cannot actually be used as a 'laptop'

Other Thoughts: I bought this machine on a budget and for the specs you can't beat it. Though I don't like the fact it feels like it would break very easy

Pros: I think its a really good value
and it saves over 1,000 dollars
it runs really fast and the dvd burner is GREAT

Pros: Love this computer! I have waited many many years to make my 1st computer purchase. Over the years I have used many diff laptops and desktops. Recently I tried a friend's Acer and began my search to finally make the big purchase. Several people questioned my decision but I was determined that Acer was for me. Since buying the computer I have been THRILLED and every techie person in my life has been amazed at this incredible computer. I highly recommend Newegg.com!

2. Decent Specs on the memory side
3. Cheap

Cons: 1. HDD is only 4200RPM
2. RAM is only PC2700
3. Comes FAT32, easy to switch to NTFS but WHY ACER WHY?
4. No All In one card reader
5. THE BIGGEST NEGATIVER - SIS MIRAGE, DONT THINK IT WILL BE DECENT. I scored the graphics on this laptop in PCMark 01 and it scored 1,200. My $75 9800 pro will score around 20,000, 3D games are not playable on this laptop. I could not even get Generals to run.
6. Battery life - 1 1/2 hours at best, the worste I have ever seen.
7. The OS's interface seems slow, its the SIS Mirage2's bad 2D performance that makes XP feel like its running on a Pentium 3.

Other Thoughts: I do not reccomend this laptop to anyone. There are better laptops for cheaper on this sight, take a look at the Acer AS1640 WLMI. Its very nice for the buck.

SIS MIRAGE2 IS A MIRAGE ALLRIGHT, A PERFORMANCE MIRAGE. YOU WILL THINK ITS THERE BUT THEN YOU GET UP CLOSE ITS GONE.

Other Thoughts: Be careful, there is a seperate partition made for a ghosted drive and it is FAT32. But a quick format and reinstall later has fixed that little problem and all is great with the world.

Pros: NewEgg service was excellent--right on time. Product was packed well.

Cons: Wireless was not operational at startup. Would not detect a signal. Manual absolute junk. Took 2 days to get email reply from Acer. Email reply was useless as it made no attempt to resolve problem...told me to call 800 number and try new firmware in my router. Arrogant. Telephone people are helpful. Am now waiting for new board. While waiting for new board, I was advised by Acer to try to remove and replace the board as this tech had found that can often resolve the problem. Did it. Now computer won't even boot. Called tech again and it appears that charger has failed--green light blinks. Sounds like shoddy parts. New charger enroute. Probably going to end up shipping machine back to Acer.

Other Thoughts: No one is getting paid for this machine until it works. I thought NewEgg sold quality goods and as a good NewEgg customer, I am very disappointed.

Pros: Great computer for the money compare to the competitior, no dead pixels and great HD and dvd burner, fast shipmetn

Cons: I sent my rebate and I never hear back from them, When I contacted them they told me they never received the rebate. I will see what newegg can do for me in order to receive the rebate.

Pros: Great for surfing the web and e-mailing. Built in wi-fi. 100 gig hard drive.(although its in two 45 gig partitions) nice screen no dead pixels.

Cons: Not for gaming at all. Can barely play Unreal Tournament 99 edition! Sometimes feels sluggish for simple tasks. No xp pro disc. Just the recovery disc. <---Lame

Other Thoughts: Should have bought something with a little more graphics power.
