Cons: Unit failed out of the box. Acer required it to be shipped to TX at my expense ($30 with ins). Three weeks later I received unit which failed the first time on battery power. I have to return it again for service and another three week + wait. Acer refuses to replace the unit. Bottom line, I own an Acer desktop and two monitors, without any problems, however if service is required they are horrific to deal with. I WILL NEVER BUY AN ACER PRODUCT AGAIN AND WARN ANYONE WHO EXPECTS A MINIMAL LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SATISFACTION TO DO THE SAME.

Rating: 2/5Buy a Mac
Pros: I've been trying for the past month to try to get this thing to work the way it's supposed to. So for now, I'd say NONE!
Cons: It comes with Vista installed. Vista could be the worst thing to come along since ME. To downgrade to XP requires that the C: drive be reformatted meaning you lose ALL pre-installed software. There is no CD that comes with the machine that contains all that software, so it's impossible to get it all back without reinstalling Vista.
Other Thoughts: Don't ever buy a PC or Laptop with Vista installed on it. Buy a Mac, instead. Who knows, maybe this is a good Laptop. I'll never know.

Rating: 4/5Works well enough
Pros: New Egg sold it. Fast Shipping. Plenty of memory and processor speed. Attractive. Great price. Bright Display.
Cons: Not a Dell. SD Card Reader loose and does not work well. Keyboard could be a little better, but I can get by with it.
Other Thoughts: Not worth sending back to Acrer to get the card reader replaced.

Pros: had good games for the two days it worked.
Cons: Dont register it- voids warranty with Newegg. Crashed 2 days after received. Newegg cant do anything to fix it. Most expensive paperweight I own.
Other Thoughts: out the money and no product to show for it. Wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

Pros: No malfunctions yet. Great for media. Will run some older games such as Diablo2, KotoR, as well as WoW. Great buy for the $600 I paid for it :)
Cons: Vista. The 250GB HDD is split half and half into the C and D drives.

Rating: 4/5Nice Machine except Vista
Pros: If you like Vista, it is quick to set up and get going. The hard drive is nice and big and there is plenty of RAM. The machine is nice and fast. A great buy for the $600 price.
Cons: Vista. There should be an option to get it with XP installed instead. Netflix Instant Movies doesn't work in Vista, so I had to downgrade the machine to run in XP. It's a royal pain to do, but can be done. Finding all the drivers is the biggest pain. Detailed instructions should be on the Acer website, but they aren't. You can find them elsewhere, however.
No USB ports on the back of the laptop. With them all on the sides, things like the printer and cooler have to use up the convenient ports.
Other Thoughts: I got a Zalman cooler with it. I STRONGLY recommend these for EVERY laptop purchase.

Rating: 1/5Interesting RMA
Pros: Awesome configuration for the money.
Cons: Had to RMA and it took more than two weeks. Also, when I received the notebook back, I noticed that the "d" partition of the hard drive had user files on it. Upon inspection, I discovered that newegg RMA personel must have swapped the hard drive from another notebook as it had the personal financial data from a person I do not know. They should have cast a new image on the drive, not simply swap the drive with another notebook that had been returned. This is not professional.
Oh BTW, the only problem was the exted display port had a flicker. I spoke to ACER after sending in the notebook and they had me drop the ground with a groundless adapter and it took care of the problem. No need for the hard drive switch.

Pros: 3G of RAM is excellent -- running Vista as is and can have a lot of programs running with no noticable problems. Good battery life.
Cons: Touchpad is extremely sensitive, and since it is almost flush with the rest of the surface it is easy to hit. I'm getting used to it, but it's annoying.
Other Thoughts: Fn-F7 toggles the touchpad on and off -- nice when doing a lot of typing (for the reason listed under cons), but it came out of the box with the touchpad off and I thought it was broken. Found the issue on Acer's forums, much to my relief.
