LOL! overheating touchpad
- Pros: D*mn good netbook for the price and function. Best value in all of the netbooks with an Atom processor. LED Backlit screen, XP, 120GB. There will be an update coming soon of a 6-cell battery and a 160GB drive and possible 3G/PCI-e (mini).
- Cons: none!
- Other Thoughts: To the other review:
Why on earth would you install Vista on this PC? Good luck on battery life w/ Windows Search/Indexing and Aero enabled. Also, if you think a driver is going to keep your touchpad from 'overheating' (or that a touchpad can overheat at all) you need to change your technical understanding rating down to 1, or -3. I am guessing you did something wrong when installing the new memory.
Great Net Book - I upgraded memory and to Vista
- Pros: Great Performance, Great Price/Value, Low Power & Weight
- Cons: Difficult to upgrade, Touchpad buttons are ackward
- Other Thoughts: I upgraded to max. Memory 1.5 GB, replacing the .5 GB with a 1 GB Stick (don't try this before viewing the 3 YouTube videos). I upgraded to Vista Bus. Runs great after uninstalling the Synaptic (touchpad) driver - after the Vista upgrade, it was causing the touchpad to overheat and stop working. I also had to download and install the video driver from Intel for Vista, otherwise all else went w/o a hitch. I also uninstalled the trial Office 2007 and installed Office 2007 Enterprise Edition and this rounded out my upgrades. This is one fantastic net book representing the best value today on the market, bar none.

Just Buy It
- Pros: The Keyboarde. It is a small netbook. The y-fi. the webcam. the 3 in one drives. Touchpad and it got XP.
- Cons: ALL THOSE PROGRAMS THAT ARE LOADED ON IT.
- Other Thoughts: I had to reload the Sound back on the note book. I love the notebook. the SD slots work so smooth!
Love it!
- Pros: Portable, portable, portable. Great keyboard. Tried the EeePC 900 and returned it after a few days... traded it in for the Aspire One which is a much better unit. Fast. Wireless works great -- haven't had any problems connecting with most wireless networks.
- Cons: Trackpad is somewhat cumbersome with side clicks. A little too much of unnecessary junk loaded. Battery life isn't great (wasn't expecting much with a 3-cell).
- Other Thoughts: Great for teachers, students, and business travelers. Use mainly for presentations and editing documents. The size takes a little getting used to, but being lightweight, affordable, and VERY portable makes up for it. If you want a gaming or mult-media machine, spend the $1,000. If you an affordable, portable machine.... this would be a great choice.
what did you exspect
- Pros: wow reading the revues of some of these jokers
for 1 it is a $300 pc wow what did you think you where getting a quad core with 2 280's in sli wow ok this pc runs great and after removing the bloat from the os it is a very clean running system and for all of you wanting e-sata or DVI or even more ram go buy a $800 lap top or better bro this is a netbook not a media center pc or a gaming rig on the go. all tho it plays Counterstrke very well and many other 3 year old games just fine i have allot of movie rip's on mine and also itunes for kids shows i got for my little one on the road trips and yes the 3 cell battery only last 1hr 45m so get a $30 power converter for the car or get the 6 cell and now there is a 9cell battery for it for up to 8hr of battery life and over 6hr on 1 battery charge watching movies can find them all day long for $65 so go get one
- Cons: the bloat in the os pre installed
- Other Thoughts: i also have a mini usb 250gig hd for it and the usb port powers the hd just fine and for all of you that want a dvd burner or blue ray burner they do make those that run off usb 2.0 you know so the e-sata just so you can do that is a non problem
ok now i have done allot on this laptop and it will replace any thing you have for on the road use and do it with stile o by the way it has a 8.9" screen so don't gripe about it being small ok !!!! u want a 10.1" go buy a new 10.1" acer with the atom 1.6ghz for just a few $ more and that's no joke a 10.1" acer one for $349 ' well good luck and know that acer support is kinda flaky but i do like the lap tops and if you want to be real creative!!!!look on line and there is a touch screen kit for the acer one its cool check it out but it will void any support from acer
