- Pros: Very light, fast, nice wide screen, resolution ok, keyboard has a nice touch. Love the keypad.
- Cons: The video memory is set for 64 and is not able to be changed in the bios, as confirmed with Acer customer service. Vista Home Premium requires 128. The graphics chipset allows for up to one Gig depending on application, however, the screen saver (photos) will not run its varied program just the basic version, because the system doesn't not have 128 so it will not even start the application. States not enough video memory. Don't upgrade the chipset driver yet or you will drop your Windows experience from 3.1 to 2.6. as I found out the hard way with a Windows Update.
Too much proprietary software.
So far so good!
- Pros: One of the best displays I've seen on a laptop. Great hardware for the price. Full keyboard with numeric keypad. All in all, great package.
- Cons: Glossy black case is a pain to keep clean. I wish the default resolution was a bit higher.
- Other Thoughts: I got this on sale and I couldn't be happier. You can't get this hardware at that price point without it being a refurb.

Greate Machine!
- Pros: I bought this computer for my 10 year old daughter to use for school. So far there is no complaints at all. She is very satisfied with it.
1. screen - 16:9 format, WXGA Screen, very good quality, clear and bright.
2. built-in webcam AND microphone are working just great.
3. keyboard - easy to use key board and number pad.
4. Very powerful configuration with 4GB RAM
250GB HDD and processor T6400 for this money.
- Cons: So far so good
- Other Thoughts: Newegg shipping is outstanding. I would recommend this machine to others.
You can't find this hardware at that price point without it being a refurb.
Great Widescreen Notebook
- Pros: Fast, great hardware, nice durability, reasonably light, nice screen (no dead pixels). The battery life of this is, for my purposes at least, superb. I routinely get 3-4 hours of use (document processing, spreadsheets, nothing especially processor-intensive) out of it in powersaver mode. Doing things like watching movies, playing games, or other processor intensive tasks shortens this obviously, but I think it's very reasonable.
6 months of ownership and no hardware failures to date.
- Cons: The screen is very shiny, which I personally don't like. It can be hard to see in very bright locations, but this is not much of a concern, really.
The stock OS is pretty heavily loaded with useless programs, so plan on removing them before doing much else. It takes some serious time to remove all traces of the software originally installed on this machine. To give an idea of how bad it was, there were originally over 50 programs installed; after cleaning it thoroughly, I was down to under 20 before I began loading my own programs on. This is an annoyance, but ultimately since I was able to completely remove all the bloatware, I'm still giving this a 5-star rating.
- Other Thoughts: Reasonable weight, widescreen is wonderful. I wouldn't recommend this if you're interested in a very light, portable machine; I use this as a desktop replacement while at work and it fulfills that goal, and when I want to go portable, it has that too
Somewhat frustrating
- Pros: Good price, easy to work. Many options for photo, vids, etc.
- Cons: Did not come with Microsoft Office. Asks for an activation key. Had to go for the trial key. Now my understanding is that I am going to have to pay separately for Office. I use this often. I understand why the great price, now.
