Great Product, Great value
- Pros: It is tiny, portable, and looks really good. The screen displays well and it picks up wireless signals fine. It is generally fast, and it comes with a bunch of free trials for different programs. Charges fast, stays charged for a while, and has a great webcam and microphone built in. Has a really small power adapter which goes along well with the overall small design. The keyboard is easy enough to type on, it just takes some time to figure out where all the buttons are supposed to be. Touch pad is nice, and the click bar on the bottom instead of on the sides is a reason I got the 10.1 model. Speakers are good enough to watch movies, etc, as long as you're in a quiet enough room. Goes into sleep mode and starts back up super fast, along with booting it up. The three USB drives are also a plus along with the six-cell battery.
- Cons: The biggest thing I saw was that it was really easy to make the little spirally thing pop up when using the touch pad, so a USB mouse is something to definitely consider buying along with it. The keys on the keyboard were sometimes smaller than usual, making typing just a tiny bit of a thing to get used to, but nothing to take an egg of for. The single click bar on the touch pad isn't very sensitive, but I just needed to get used to hitting it on the far end of the bar. It looks a little cramped when using a tabbed internet browser, but it's nothing big. Speakers are near/on the bottom of the unit, so when using on a bed or something, it can be muffled, but it's fine on a flat surface or with headphones. It could have used an extra gig of RAM, but it is fine for daily use.
- Other Thoughts: Overall: Great value for the price, some minor inconveniences, but definitely worth buying for the extra battery and monitor size, along with the four different colors.
No support,unless you pay!
- Pros: Nice little computer if it worked
- Cons: Could not make a back got absolutely no help from ACER. I guess they don't understand what warranty means,,,They kept asking me for a credit card number and to get a cd backup they wanr $19.99 and shipping for something that should be included. I bought a ton of stuff for this nice lookin junk and now I just want to be compensated for all of it! Dogs. Stay away from ACER if you want any support as it is non existant. Too bad a company ruined by something simple as service.
- Other Thoughts: I won't have anything do with them just like OCZ

Small and Light - I LIKE IT !!!
- Pros: Its small, light and fast for what it costs. I immediately pulled the 1GB stick and installed a 2GB stick that I also purchased here on newegg. Yanked all the trialware and installed MS Office and a basic antivirus/firewall. Wireless works better than my Dell laptop and connects every time. Worked with the XP Home for the first 3 weeks and after making the recovery DVD's I waxed it and installed Win 7 Business. Didn't notice any slowdown compared to XP Home and all the drivers were available. Didn't have to hunt around on the Acer site to download anything.
- Cons: Screen is only 600 pixels high so some web pages are pretty hard to read. Display is crystal clear and impressive for the price. I use the trackpad, but its small and I have fat fingers. I carry a USB trackball with me in the case and hook it up for more than quick email checking.
Bottom of the unit runs hot on the left side, so I would suggest keeping it on a hard surface that allows ventilation for the internal fan. Fan is quiet and does not bug me at all. All the ports are on the sides, which makes it hard to plug in an external mouse if you actually have the thing on your lap. Would have been nice to have the power, usb and network on the back of the unit but others would probably complain about those locations as well.
- Other Thoughts: Wish these vendors would stop installing all this trialware junk. Nobody ever buys it and we all end up just de-installing it. Problem is its never totally gone and leaves junk in the registry to slow you down. I fixed that problem by reformatting the entire HD and installing Windows 7 Business with no noticed slowdown compared to the XP Home that was installed.
I would not even try messing with Vista as its such a known resource hog. I didn't even debate going that route.
Awesome
- Pros: Very easy to use. Keyboard is just big enough to make typing feel normal. Hardware hot keys are easy to work with when watching/ listening to multimedia. It is perfect for carrying around the house as an instant internet reference tool. I use it all the time to look stuff up that I see on TV or think about at random. Battery life is easily 7 hours of use with a full charge. The graphics processor/ CPU combo is plenty for full screen streaming across a wireless G network. boots and resumes from sleep quite acceptably. Only comes with a couple of crapware programs that were easy to uninstall. Ran TuneXP and got it humming in no time.
Mine came with the Atom N280... shhhh!
- Cons: It get a little warm on the bottom. It has XP and I want to put 7 on it...
- Other Thoughts: I plan on upgrading the ram to 2GB. This unit has a convenient door with 2 Phillips head screws that lets you access the RAM and another door to get to the hard drive. Very upgradeable.
ACER IS DEAD
- Pros: SMALL, COMPACT EASY TO TAKE ANYWHERE.
- Cons: SLOW TO RESPOND, MOUSE PAD DOES NOT TRACK WELL. SCREEN EASILY SCRATCHED AND SO SMALL ITS HARD TO SEE WHEN TYPING.
- Other Thoughts: I BOUGHT THIS FOR MY SON, WHO USES IS VERY LITTLE, MOSTLY FOR SURFING THE WEB AND CHECKING E-MAIL. LESS THAN 1 MONTH AFTER RECIEVING IT IT SIPLY WOULD NOT TURN ON, AND WOULD NOT CHARGE. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I BOUGHT THE EXTENDED COVERAGE BUT NOW HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE HASSEL OF RETURNING IT AND WILL PROBABLY LOSE ALL THE COOL PICTURES HE HAS STORED ON IT.
