4 out of 5 eggsportable

Pros: light, portable, cheap. not a very powerful machine but does everything i need it to do. i use it at business school every day, and it is perfect. i use it mostly for word, excel, and internet. i would recommend it.

Cons: screen borks sometimes when plugged into a second monitor, but is temporary. annoying clicking noise that i think is the hard drive.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome laptop!

Pros: Great laptop. It's very portable. It weights only about 3 pounds. This makes it great to carry to class. And the battery last about 3-5 hours depending what I'm doing. It pack quite a punch for being just a little bit bigger than a netbook.

Cons: The keyboard took a little while to get use to. The touch pad is also took sometime getting use to. No dvd/cd drive. But you can always buy an external one.

Other Thoughts: Overall a great buy. The best $450 I ever spent in my life. It's no Mac but it's gets the job done for less than half the price. I would highly recommend this for college students or anyone who likes netbook size but prefer laptop power.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat specs & value

Pros: Dual core processor
DX 10.1 capable video
3GB RAM instead of the usual 2GB
Win 7 Home Premium

Cons: None yet. We'll see once I open the box. ;)
I expect to see a lot of bloatware and trial software, that is unfortunately pretty standard these days.

Other Thoughts: It has what I was looking for:
o Recent model dual core processor (Neo K325)
o Recent model graphics chip (HD 4225)
I did a lot of shopping. NewEgg has a very good price; at this price you typically get just a single core processor and 2GB of RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Laptop

Pros: *The size and weight of this laptop is about perfect. I'm a college student who is always carrying around my laptop.

*The 11.6" screen is exactly what i was looking for. Big enough to read ebooks on and do homework, but small enough to give me space to work.

*For being such a lightweight notebook, this laptop packs a punch! Easily runs multiple applications, music, firefox, thunderbird, anything I've thrown at it so far.

*I'm dual booting linux distro Ubuntu 10.04 and havent had any major problems

*The keyboard is full size, actually a little bit bigger in my oppinion. It takes some getting used to, but after a week I typing normally.

*Battery life is awesome, on full charge I get around 4.5 -5 hrs.

**The HDMI out is awesome if you like watching movies from your laptop. No drops in frames even on full HD movies.

**Runs Starcraft 2 on low settings

Cons: *As mentioned in another review, the battery charge time is a bit slow..2-2.5 hrs to recharge fully.

*The touchpad took some getting userd to, but its really not too bad after a week. Just a weird texture I thought.

*When working with Ubuntu, I can't get the laptop to Hibernate properly. I'm not sure what the problem is...Hibernating works fine in windows.

**Bloatware :/

Other Thoughts: I would definitely buy this laptop again. Awesome product! Its super thin, yet feels sturdy. A great buy in my opinion!!!

5 out of 5 eggsGood small machine

Pros: Very small, HDMI out, thin and lightweight.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: If you are considering a netbook go ahead and spend the few $100 more and get one of these. Netbook size but has the power to do more if you wish.

5 out of 5 eggsNot bad, not bad at all

Pros: It does what I need, and it does it well. Screen is perfect as well as keyboard. It has has enough "juice" to put most of netbooks to shame. Battery last long enough for my needs, 4+ hours with wi-fi on. And it plays HD movies on TV flawlessly. BD-remux of Avatar with no frame drops at all.

Cons: The touchpad surface is somewhat unusual.
Battery is big disappointment in mater of charging time, 3+ hours to charge completely.

Other Thoughts: I am totally satisfied with this machine, it is smaller than my previous notebook, yet fells as powerful. The only difference is that my old Toshiba recharged its battery in one hour, not three. Make sure to remove McAfee as soon as possible, because it slows down the whole system.
