3 out of 5 eggsPower Supply Failed and CPU fan make a horrible GRINDING Noise.

Pros: Great price, 4GB memory, core i3, nice screen, love the keyboard. This is an Awesome laptop spec wise, but a little on the cheap end build wise. I knew this going in but gave it a shot.. I got burned. You might be ok.

Cons: CPU fan started to fail and I'm 2 months past the 30 day newegg return policy. I'll have to deal with Acer directly. It's a shame because this laptop is SOOO nice. The power supply went today. I actually had an exact matching power supply (many years as a systems admin) I guess Acer hasn't changed the power supply in a few years, good for me I guess.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for my mother in law for her 60th birthday. She Loves it and doesn't mind the grinding noise the cpu fan makes. It is not getting hot, so it must be working even though it sounds horrible.. I guess she'll be without a laptop for a couple months while ACER has it for repair. IF they grant an RMA that is..

4 out of 5 eggsComputer great, Service horrible.

Pros: It is indeed fast, a great jump up from my last laptop, a single-core emachines 1.6ghz sempron. This laptop here won't play Crysis or hit the top of any benchmarks but if you want to dual-boot with linux or windows, it formats things quickly and doesn't afraid of anything. I love the brightness of the screen and the webcam, they seem to be of exceptional quality for this cheap a computer.

Cons: The laptop does feel undeniably cheap though. The first one I got had a dead pixel, which Acer refused to service, luckily Newegg replaced at no charge. Love Newegg! I then sent my laptop to Acer to do the Windows Refund and since it came back I have had nothing but bad luck. It seems the casing has shifted when they sent it back and everything that snaps together feels just off. If I run my thumb up the front of the keyboard, it is not flush at all. The LEDs are bright, so that may be a plus for you but I had to dim them so I can use it at night or keep it on overnight with the lid closed. The CD drive doesn't feel 100% aligned when I push it in too fast but this may be regular with laptops, this is only my second.

Other Thoughts: This is purely from my own experience, but if you get an Acer product, get the newegg support extra because acer is worthless. Not only would they not fix a dead pixel in the screen just because who knows, they borked a simple Windows Refund. I shipped my laptop to them, with the hard drive wiped and Linux already installed and working on it, not to mention a large piece of notebook paper on top of it explaining I already had linux, windows is GONE, just verify it. That is what the Acer Support Lv2 guy Charles said they would do. The tech wiped my hard drive, installed Windows back on to it from somewhere because I know I didn't have any windows there. No one can explain why this tech did what he did. So, now am I out the $8 in shipping for that, I had to wipe it again. Acer said they would pay for shipping back both ways to investigate a memory issue which caused only 2gb of my memory to show up, but that was an issues with their install. Long story short if you go Acer Also go newegg

5 out of 5 eggsWOW

Pros: FAST,FAST,FAST Good keyboard with Numeric Pad, Sharp Picture even outside.

Cons: Mono Internal speaker,

Other Thoughts: This is my second ACER ASPIRE and (5610-4537) a replacement for my 1st. If it holds up as well as the 1st it ia a GREAT Deal. I am still learning it's capabilities.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Laptop

Pros: This made my very picky son's day - all A graduation gift. Fast nice HP like, bright screen. 2 point capacitive touch, THIN and carbon fiber looking black. Nice job Acer. If you didn't get in on this deal memorial day weekend, you missed a nice find.

Cons: Too soon to tell. He is trying Steam.

Other Thoughts: I looked at so many deals and this is as close to the 2nd gen Intel without dropping to 2.1GHz

4 out of 5 eggsJust what I need

Pros: Good price, light weight, enough memory, very quick

Cons: Battery lasts 1 1/2 hours

Other Thoughts: I only need to access the internet and use Excel and M/S Word. It comes with "Starter 2010" which became inaccessible within 24 hours and crashed other M/S programs. They offered no support except to go back to Acer for support. I just restored to factory settings and stay away from Word and Excel.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Laptop

Pros: Fast, Sturdy, Feature-packed, Easy-to-upgrade, Battery lasts about four hours

Cons: Screen not the greatest (certainly not up to Macbook Pro standards), fan might be annoying to some in very quiet environments, keyboard is different, trackpad button left click is smaller than you'd expect, has the usual bloatware, lid has some flex and requires two hands to open, no Bluetooth; this seems like a long list, but most laptops have a much longer list of cons

Other Thoughts: I got this exact model except with a 500GB HDD (also 5400rpm) from a "discount warehouse" for 5 c-bills. I had 90 days to return it if I found something better, but for the price there is nothing better. Upgrading the RAM to 8GB was a cinch -- I even replaced the HDD with an SSD (Crucial C300 64GB, but I'd have gotten an Intel 120GB SSD if I could do it over again) and put the old HDD into a caddy that replaced the DVD burner. After a clean installation of Windows 7 64-bit and the previous upgrades (which cost less than $200), everything was extremely smooth -- CPU and upgraded RAM get 6.8 in the Windows Experience Index, graphics are mid 4s, and SSD is 7.7. Someone complained that it feels cheap, but I disagree-- I think the textured firm plastic feels substantial. If you're looking for an inexpensive laptop that's easily turned into a screamer, then this is it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy for the price

Pros: If your looking for a laptop below $500 this is a great choice. This laptop is fast and includes all the latest essential updates. It seems much more strudy then my previous dell - very comprable to the Macbook in terms how sturdy it feels. It is wide screen - yet it feels very light. Includes a wide keyboard - so it feels like a desktop keyboard.
If your looking for basic - intermediate computing, I would highly recommend this laptop. I am not a gamer - So i can't comment on how it would hold up with gaming.
Very fast shipping - got it in 2 days with the free shipping.(mines shipped from jersey)

Cons: Keyboard is very wide - So it takes a few days to get used to.
Has quite a few software installed - but you can easily uninstall it.
Only had it for a week - So can't give much cons.

3 out of 5 eggsShipped with a bad fan. Bummer!

Pros: You get a lot for your money. 4GB Ram, Core i3, 320 GB HD.

Cons: VERY flimsy. Almost all plastic. Cheap feel. Mine shipped with a bad fan.

Other Thoughts: Mine came with a bad fan. The fan blades must have been hitting something when they spin down. The sound was loud and annoying. Not Neweggs fault. man, they ship fast.. Ordered Sunday night received it on Tuesday morning..
