5 out of 5 eggsGlad I bought it

Pros: Very quiet, runs cool. I really like the keyboard. Fantastic resolution on screen and movies look wonderful.

Cons: Perhaps a hardrive with faster rpm would have made this even more of a thrill to use.

4 out of 5 eggsA $1200 laptop for $900

Pros: Nice keyboard, quiet, beautiful display. Seems to run smooth when you root out all the bloatware and wrestle Vista into submission. Bought it hoping for easy transition to 7.

Cons: 8GB RAM recommended for Vista 64 bit. You can upgrade the RAM but SODIMM is mad expensive. Should've shipped with 32 bit Vista. I'm sure I'll max this thing out real soon.

Recovery disk program crashes when I try to make a recovery disk. OOPS. Firefox crashes quite a bit.

Other Thoughts: Smooth and quiet, HDMI is a treat (I didn't realize HDMI carried sound too, yay). Pretty.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it!

Pros: Good overall performance. Actually, fantastic performance for everyday use.
The screen is big, resolution is great, colors are good.
Light weight for the size.
Silent and somewhat cool.
The built-in speakers sound quite well.
WiFi and Bluetooth work fine.
Keyboard buttons feel great.
Beautiful design.

Cons: Comes with some Sony media management software, that took time to disable. It didn't seem to degrade performance when I needed it, but I definitely didn't need such functionality.
The onboard video will not let you play sophisticated 3D games.
VAIO update, did not do a single driver update for the past six months, though I see there are some MHD4500 driver updates on the intel site.

Other Thoughts: With its mobility and great picture quality, now we are watching our favorite movies on this machine.
After using this VAIO, I'm sure I'll stay in its camp for years to come.
If you are willing to play 3D games on this machine, you must consider buying another VAIO model that has a sophisticated 3D video card installed. I don't.

3 out of 5 eggsEhhh... overall, not overly pleased

Pros: It's a pretty machine visually.

The display is beautiful and 16.4" monitor is perfect for wide-screen formatted subject, as well as a nice step down from a 17" - I actually like it a bit better!!

4 GB is also great a must these days

Processor is pretty nice, fast, and gives great battery-time, and I never hear a sound from it.

Cons: The BluRay Drive is Read only.. you won't be burning any BluRays on this one.

My first hard drive broke rather easily. I simply bumped it with the AC/DC adapter (the box located middle of the computers cord).

Vista.. ughhh.. not a very sound operating system, escpecially if moving from XP. And it's OS is64-Bit, which a great deal of companies don't make drivers for!!
Even Cisco's VPN client is not updated for the 64-Bit version!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!!

Pros: Amazing visual expereince! Quiet, cool. Sleek design of its looking. Everything feels right!

Cons: If the usb jacks are located at the left side would be better, so that the wire of your mouse won't be always in your way.

Other Thoughts: This Vaio is so cool! It worths every penny.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Nothing DOA. The day I got this I installed windows 7 beta build 7057 and it found almost all of the drives at install witch is amazing for a sony product. Its VARY quick, much faster than what I expected.

Cons: Memory is already maxed out, no hope of upgrading.

Other Thoughts: Havnt had the chance to test out the blueray player and hdmi out on this thing and hope it dosnt give me any problems. Windows 7 its awesome btw and even though its in beta its reliable and SO SO much faster than vista.

4 out of 5 eggsVery slick

Pros: it works quietly, easy to set up and come with all the features u can use. I love it so far and done all the job i need.

Cons: It says here that it's 250 Gb, but i only got 222GB. But that's the way all of them are. It's a good produck.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Quality

Pros: This box has the look of a MacBook Pro with a much greater feature set. It runs fast, silent and cool. This is a great value for the price point. You will not be disappointed. The exterior is a midnight gray flat finish. The keyboard is comfortable and natural and the deck has plenty of room to rest your wrists. The large screen is very nice. BlueRay addition to a TV in minutes.

Cons: The touch pad has an unusual tactility, but in no time feels fine. New laptops are often shipping without any disks in the box and that is the case here. You will find the restore disk creation software in Start -> Programs.

5 out of 5 eggsSolidly Built

Pros: This machine is solidly built. It is quite and fast. This is the first laptop I have been able to use from my lap, as it does not run hot. The machine has the look of a macbook pro with a much more robust feature set. The preinstalled software has everything necessary to utilize the hardware. I have owned or used many laptops and this is as nice as any I have seen. Great quality for the price point.

Cons: none
