4 out of 5 eggsGreat laptop with some growing pains

Pros: - Extremely light. It feels almost impossibly light. It is something that everyone who ever carries it comments on
- Fantastic battery life. I can get 8+ hours out of it with email and word processing alone, 5 hours with videos, 3 hours with gaming
- Starts up in seconds, even from a total shutdown. Great for carrying around and quickly flipping open to work on
- Great screen quality. Touch screen functionality is basic, but functional. Colors are vivid and brightness is acceptable, even in bright light situations
- Onboard speakers aren't going to blow you away, but get relatively loud at max volume with no distortion
- A small touch, but the charger comes with a USB port, so you can charge an object without using up one of the two USB ports on the computer.

Cons: - Wifi range has improved with updates, but is still a concern. I had to re-locate my router to accommodate
- The webcam is absolutely awful. It is so low resolution that it gives everything a soft of Van Gogh-style squiggly appearance, even in bright light. Disappointing, if you use sykpe often
- The CPU fan is quite small and, as such, gets quite loud when it really spins up. I've found myself embarrassed at how loud it gets, at times.
- The trackpad is in a macbook styling--No distinct buttons, large and "clicks" in when depressed. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue. However, due to the light, thin, carbon frame, the computer flexes slightly when not on a solid, flat surface. When this happens, it can internally depress the track pad. This has never clicked the mouse for me, but has prevented me from clicking the mouse, myself. Kind of a strange phenomenon.

Other Thoughts: Some minor thoughts that are neither pros, nor cons:
- There is no ethernet port. A relatively minor concern, given today's wifi-oriented world, but it can be a concern when you, oh, I don't know, have a spotty wifi card in your product...
- The headphone port is a combined microphone/headphone jack, meaning that a headset with a microphone will take over the on-board microphone when plugged in. Something to be aware of, if you don't want that. Easily rectified via settings in the computer
- Do not think you're going to be playing any 3D games on this thing. It cannot even choke its way through Borderlands 2 on low settings and low resolution.

Overall, a great computer for work/class. I've been very impressed, other than the initial grumbling regarding the WiFi card and the absolutely abysmal webcam.
