4 out of 5 eggsNo PS3 Compatability?

Pros: It's fast.
Beautiful display
ICS upgrade out of box
SD card option is great

Cons: I love the remote control option which works great with almost all my gadgets, however, I can't believe it won't interface with the PS3! Sony...really?
Very few options in the PS3 Store.

4 out of 5 eggsReview Update

Pros: See Previous by me but Kierre is "partially" correct about being able to play media directly from the SD card (and you dont need a rooted or third party media player). See Other for Details.

Cons: see previous by me

Other Thoughts: I was *Wrong*... You can play media files supported by the tablet without having to transfer.

When you insert the SD card, it prompts you immediately to transfer the files, if you click ok it will load the Sony File Transfer program. From here you can see any files on the SD card, select the file and click "Open".

The only "catch" is that though it will play, you just can't load the Video player and see media on the SD card. Also while though it plays in the video player, the "cool" features are not enabled (DLNA Push, Slow Skip, Chapter Skip). Also for some reason though WMV's are supported, mine would not play from the SD card, i had to transfer them over.

I'm sorry i couldn't edit my initial posting. As always, feel free to gmail my nickname with questions or comments

3 out of 5 eggsunless your a Sony Fanboy

Pros: Great design and feel. Built in Full SD card for file transfers ONLY (if you use the default player). Its pretty fast too. Oh and the built in remote control app is very functional and was a great trick to play on my wife for a couple of days

Cons: VERY Pricey. For the Same amount you can get the new Quad Core Asus with video out!

NO VIDEO OUT!!!

By using the default video player (that supports the DLNA push) you cannot play media from the external connections (sd slot or usb host cable). You have to transfer to the unit. However you can download free legit video players that will play from any of the standard level access you have.

The cradle is a joke. It offers nothing more than just a stand. Doesn't give you any ports nor does it come with power supply. Would be nice if they gave you a remote that allows you to cycle through your media for presentation purposes.

Other Thoughts: I have NO idea how someone has claimed that they have played media from the SD slot, unless they were using the none default video player, i can only assume they rooted the device

Not Having video out is.. unholy

I purchased this for a specific function, allow me to copy photos and videos take from my sony a77 camera to an external hard drive without the use of a laptop (plus view them on a nice size lcd vs camera screen). I am able to manage this but i had to a find a self powered drive (Seagate Satellite) & root the device to allow mounting of NTFS partitions (i'm told i could have saved rooting if i formatting the seagate to fat32 but then i would lose the wifi function).

If i could start all over, for my needs i would get the Toshiba Thrive, FULL HDMI, SD slot, USB A & B & Cheaper.

As always, feel free to gmail my nickname with questions or comments.

5 out of 5 eggs32GB Sony Tablet

Pros: My first tablet and the apple OS just wasn't really a viable option for me. Most of my devices are windows or android based and I like my devices to be able to talk to each other. Speaking of which, the DLNA option for this device is one of the options I would place high on my list. I could already stream media files to any device in my network, but now I can stream to where ever I might be with the tablet. The universal remote has helped me out of a few pickles as well. Believe it or not, some electronic devices will not work without a remote in this day and age. I'm not going to call them out (Samsung Blu-ray player) but I was about to throw the player away because I thought it was broken. The Sony tablet controlled it with ease, as it does everything else in my household. I also purchased an additional 32GB SD card, and before the rumors start, it does play video directly from it without a hitch. I've also connected my PS joystick to play a few games and works great.

Cons: No real cons for my experience other than the typical Sony effect. They usually miss the mark on their 1st tries, either by product, advertisements or costs. This time it was the cost, and 2 weeks into production they are already dropping the price. I've been telling myself for years to never by Sony products within the 1st month of release, and that logic has never let me down. My failure to follow that logic however has. The price is about 200 bucks better now than it was when I purchased it and while I think it's a good price point... they'll drop it again. Just hope it doesn't drop their support along with it, ala the Sony Mylo :)

Other Thoughts: Product and capability wise, I think you'd be hard pressed to walk away disappointed.

3 out of 5 eggsUpdate

Pros: Hardware specs. Please see my first review.

Cons: Software. Please see my first review.

Other Thoughts: Just want to clarify something from my first review; If you are into Android then there is no other Android tablet out there that is better that we have tried. But before you spend more than five hundreds on a tablet try hard to compare it with an iPad with the iOS. Ask a friend who owns one an Android and an iPad and if possible borrow it for two days or a week for comparison. Alternative is research online for professionals review who really experience working with it for at least a week. Believe me hardware spec comparisons and/or one day use review is a lot different from actually really using it for a week at least.

3 out of 5 eggsRight hardware wrong software.

Pros: The design and weight are almost perfect! Sony delivers outstanding hardware design. The best feel to hold among the other tablets including iPad 2 when we were at a local electonic retail store. Able to play playstation games is just awesome.

Cons: The more you use it the more you realize Android is no match for iOS. This is a gift for my wife and she's longing for the same apps as we have on our iPad 1. Android may be great but not if you are used to iPad's iOS and its apps store.

Other Thoughts: It's like buying a super sleek designed laptop computer but with Linux installed. You're excited at first then realize the software you used to is just as important (or more important) as the hardware itself. It would have been perfect if this comes with iOS 5 :)
