5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: light, fast, windows 7 is great, like the back-lit keyboard more than expected, etc.

Cons: scratches easily-got it with gouges, and new dimples and scratches appear with only use being desk, back-pack, desk... etc. The mouse pad used to zoom and scroll sideways, and I could get Adobe to rotate, but that stopped working within a month. :( maybe the dry climate that made sparks every other time I touched my laptop? oh well. Big issue: My back up CD's did not write correctly! Trying to use the hidden partition recovery is also no dice--there is a corruption somewhere. (which explains the CD's) so be very careful and prepared should you try to reformat your computer.

Other Thoughts: I came on to see if I could maybe get a cheap recovery disc. I was being zealous about the reset--the laptop was slowed down after a sketchy download. But the product is very very solid otherwise. ...I just need to get it an OS again. :P And on the bright side, I should shed a lot of bloatware now. (I have not tried any modern games on it, used mostly Office for school, browsing with many tabs, and some Illustrator.)

4 out of 5 eggsupdate

Pros: Updating my previous review. So I received another one of these after having to rma the first one. This time everything worked. Great laptop for the price.

Cons: There are small scratches on it here and there, but they are microscopic and hard to see. I guess thats just something you have to accept when buying refurbished. One design flaw on this laptop is that the main heat vent becomes almost completely covered by the display lid when its opened all the way back, and you pretty much always have to have the display opened all the way back in order to use it. Hopefully that wont cause anything to burn out inside.

2 out of 5 eggsBloatware Gallore

Pros: Decent form-factor, reasonable price point for the performance/components - at $629 it's a pretty solid deal.

Cons: First unit was defective (N key worked about half the time). Had to exchange as an RMA.

Way too much bloatware.

I don't like how the keyboard lighting is set up. Too much bleed-through between the keys makes for a very funky looking keyboard.

The touch pad is activated when I'm just typing sometimes, pretty annoying. It also doesn't work in multi-touch scenarios, so sometimes if I have one finger or a part of my palm on the pad and try to use my other finger to move the pointer, it doesn't work.

Did I mention the massive amount of bloatware?

It also doesn't come with a windows install disc which is pretty annoying.

Other Thoughts: Frankly, I wish I'd gone with a different laptop.

1 out of 5 eggsdamaged

Pros: nice laptop has intel wireless display and a back-lit keyboard

Cons: plastic part of laptop has a crack on the side.
packaging is very bad; it came in a cardboard box wrapped to a a piece of cardboard with cling wrap. no other protections like Styrofoam.
came with the wrong charging cable; the cable that connects to the power-brick and then to the wall socket has wrong prongs so it doesn't fit the power-brick.

Other Thoughts: giving it one star because it came messed up as mentioned above will rma to get another one then will update rating.
seems like this was once sold in best buy or maybe was one of their store display models because it has a bunch of best buy bloatware on it.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: This AP is awesome and has great range. It has many customizable features and a good price tag. I installed this in a story home with the AP in the attic and still had 4 out 5 bars all the way in the basement plus great access outside the home!

Cons: The only real gripe about this product is the initial set up. Kind of lengthy and annoying even from a technician stand point. But worth it in the end. Comes with 5dbi antenna's. Would have been nice with stronger antennas to really maximize the range. Not that its already great out of the box.

Other Thoughts: Buy it!

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Value

Pros: Fast - Multitasking with several applications is no problem (8 gig RAM must help); Beautiful low-glare screen with good viewing angles; Good (not great) 5-hour battery; Quick startup; LOVE the keyboard; 3 USBs with one always powered; R/W Blu-ray drive; Nice looking brushed silver case that doesn't show fingerprints; 3.5 pounds very acceptable given optical drive included; 2-year support from Sony.

Cons: Sound is disappointing.

Other Thoughts: Could not find user or technical reviews on this model, so took a chance. Glad I did.
