4 out of 5 eggsNice for the price

Pros: Very nice laptop that I can take pretty much everywhere. Screen is nice and bright and surprisingly clear even for the small size.

Fan doesn't get too hot and the power pack is small as well ( 4" x 1" X 1.5" approx.)

Battery life is fantastic at almost half the work day of light duty work.

Video playback is pretty good and I haven't had hiccups on local video, DVDs or on YouTube.

Wifi reception is marginally better than my old Lenovo Z565.

Cons: Bear in mind, these are all in the "will get used to it" category...

Initially, there were some very slow load times during startup and for the applications, but after updates (which took pretty much the whole night and half a day), it runs pretty well.

The fan is louder than my trusty, though considerably heavier, Lenovo, but not too troublesome. Might want to invest in headphones if this is a problem.

The keyboard isn't as comfortable as my Lenovo. Sometimes, I have to press hard to make sure a letter is recognized and until I got used to that, I had quite a few typos. I'm not sure if this will improve with usage, but I was surprised I could type as fast as I did considering the size of the keyboard. The keys (aside from the arrow keys and shift) aren't crowded over all and I have pretty long fingers.

The page up/down, end and home buttons are tied to the function key, so often, I'd have to do Fn+shift+left(or right) to select a line. A bit awkward, but I'm getting used to it.

I wouldn't use this to write a novel while on vacation.

Then, the trackpad... Right click is a bit of an issue. The mouse buttons are under the trackpad, so you press on the lower left and right corners of the trackpad itself. You do have to press with a fair bit of effort. I did notice the corners of the trackpad does bend a bit if you press too far on the corners. There's a bar underneath that's noticeable, which contains the mouse buttons. I was able to see this bar through the gap (about 1-2mm) between the edge of the trackpad and the case. This may also let dust/dirt in.

I'm not sure I'm comfortable putting that much pressure to right click all the time, so I'm getting a small Bluetooth mouse. Considering the light weight of this, it's not such a big deal.

Other Thoughts: Currently using this for a more portable stand-in for my other workhorse since this is *far* more portable and light. Best of all, since it's so small and the bag isn't multi-layer (I.E. power pack + accessories "on top" of the laptop), I don't need to take it out of the bag to put it through the airport scanner like before.

I have Photoshop CS5 + Visual Studio Express 2012 + MS Office 2010 installed and can have multiple word documents open with the other two as well as a couple of browser windows open without too much slow down, but this isn't a gaming rig, so you shouldn't be doing that anyway.

It certainly doesn't have a lot of horsepower, but since I work with a lot of memory intensive stuff (mostly large datasets), I got an 8Gb memory stick for it. Total 12 installed now with 11.5 available. No noticeable slowdowns with regular use now.
