Samsung crammed the features of a full sized notebook into the NC10-14GW netbook. The 10.2" screen has a 1024x600 resolution widescreen display. The system is powered by an Intel Atom processor running at 1.6GHz with 1GB of DDR2 800 memory.
Storage is handled by a 160GB hard drive. If you want to add extra storage you can stick an SDHC card into the slot. Or you can attach a drive to one of the three USB 2.0 ports.
Samsung gives you plenty of choices to stay connected to the outside world. There is a Fast Ethernet connection for when you are at home. Or you can use the 802.11b/g wireless connection at your favorite hotspot. Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR capability lets you use your cell phone as a modem when you are on the road.

WAY better than I expected
- Pros: - VERY nice quality exterior
- Great screen, non glare and easily used in high light areas. - Battery life, Battery life, Battery life! - Ability to play semi-old games with less lagg than some larger laptops ( EX: Warcraft 3, Counterstrike, Age of Empires 2, Starcraft, games of this nature) - VERY Light, about the weight of a 10 inch 500 page book. Not very heavy at all - Keyboard is very easy to get used to, due to the fact that it is very close to a normal sized keyboard. - The Price is unbelievable for the quality of this product
- Cons: - Samsung pre-installed software
- Smaller than normal mouse pad ( its NOT THAT BAD, easy to get used to, but it is smaller than most so it is still a con compared to others)
- Other Thoughts: This is a VERY nice quality case. I have owned many other laptops before and this case exceeds the quality of the majority of them. The white is actually an off white, a mix between a white and silver. Its very very nice, and no fingerprints at all. I can attract dirty fingerprints though if you dont have clean hands when handling, so be careful.
I have done alot of research on netbooks before buying this one, and was about to buy the MSI Wind or the Asus N10-J. I am GLAD i waited for Samsung. Some may argue that the ASUS n10-J is good for portable gaming, but if you are wanting a netbook, you arent looking for gaming. Its really pointless to try and play Call of Duty 4 on a 10 inch screen. This little Samsung is more than capable of playing ISO metric RPGs that dont require alot of graphics power, as well as classic RTSs such as Starcraft and Warcraft 3. If anyone is wondering about swapping HDs, I order a Western Digital 500gb Scorpio, and it works perfectly.
NC10 DEF WORTH IT
love it!
- Pros: awesome battery life
comfortable keyboard and screen size very portable great for on-call admins great for web surfing almost anywhere
- Cons: OS came pre-loaded with too much crapware and too many auto-start programs.
touch pad would be better with 2 buttons, but it's still one of the best I have seen on a netbook
- Other Thoughts: I have been waiting for a 10" netbook with great battery life, and at least 1GB of RAM. It was this or the MSI wind. In the reviews I have read, the NC10 had better battery life. Aside from that, I don't see much difference between the two.
I would recommend getting rid of the useless McAfee security "trial" software, and killing many of the unnecessary start-up programs to speed things up. So far, I LOVE the NC10

Awsome Netbook
- Pros: Does just about everything that you need to do on a daily basis. 10.2" screen make a huge difference from the 8.9". Hard to believe that just over an inch make so big of a difference.
- Cons: No cd/dvd drive, but who uses them anymore anyway. We store all of our files on a file server and wireless is available almost everywhere now.
- Other Thoughts: We also have a 8.9" acer and this little thing Samsung just works. The Acer looses it network connection when the lid shuts and you have to reboot to reset everything. The Samsung just works and connects flawlessly just like you never shut the lid.
Best Researched Purchase For a Netbook
- Pros: A workhorse for a netbook. Excellent battery life, I just charge it up at work and I have 5.5 to 6 hours of use at maximum performance when I get home for supper. It is very well built as I have abused it a lot lugging it around in my backpack. The keyboard is very comfortable and I have man hands. It has 3 USB ports, an SD HC port, and a very long power cord which is great for coffee shops and libraries. I can only sum it up as "you will not disappointed."
- Cons: These are not really cons as they are what you should expect with this purchase. The screen size is small but you do get used to it. the Mouse pad is tiny but that's fine as I use a mouse. I wish it had a track point like an IBM Thinkpad that I own (before the Chinese took that over). I want the heavier 9 cell battery included as standard that is not officially certified by Samsung.
- Other Thoughts: You should consider these purchases from Newegg if you buy this product:

paired with:

Yes I did purchase these exact items when I bought this netbook, and I amcompletely satisfied with all the products and Newegg.
Nice netbook
- Pros: *Very nice pearl white chassis; back cover on mine is NOT glossy like I thought, so smudges and scratches aren't a problem.
*Track pad is incredible. It supports Multi Touch (required small extra software piece for me), circular scrolling and pointer momentum (imitates flicking of a track ball). *It's easy to toggle the backlight, track pad and audio with additional functions in the F-* keys. *Keyboard caps' size is very close to that of a laptop. *Screen is super-bright with a good quality web cam. *Runs great on a 6-cell battery for about 4 hours with the LCD brightness on full.
- Cons: *My biggest complaint is that the Page Up/Home and Page Down/End keys are right above the left and right arrows so I keep inadvertently striking them and losing my place. This would not be a problem if Home and End were the primary functions because I use them all the time and I never use Page Up/Down at all. You have to hold "Fn" to use Home and End functions.
*Does not run Windows 7 very well, but that's more of a luxury than a necessity; XP is just fine. *Graphics chipset could be a little faster.
- Other Thoughts: Overall, this netbook is very nice for common tasks and ultra portability. I bought it because it had the best reviews of all the netbooks I read about, and I had an itch for one because my laptop has...become my desktop, with all the peripherals I've hooked up to it. The pros greatly outweigh the cons; you can get used to the Page Up/Down thing after some use.
