Samsung crammed the features of a full sized notebook into the NP-NC10-KA03US netbook. The 10.2" screen has a 1024x600 resolution and with SuperBright LED backlit technology, the display enables you enjoy up to 33% more brightness than normal screens. The system is powered by an Intel Atom processor running at 1.6GHz with 1GB of DDR2 memory.
160GB hard drive gives you all the room you need. If you want to add extra storage you can stick an SD, SDHC or MMC card into the 3-in-1 card slot. Or you can attach a drive to one of the three USB 2.0 ports.
Samsung gives you plenty of choices to stay connected to the outside world. There is a Fast Ethernet connection for when you are at home. Or you can use the 802.11b/g wireless connection at your favorite hotspot. Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR capability lets you use your cell phone as a modem when you are on the road.

Everything just works folks!!!
- Pros: Small, light, good on power. Typical netbook
Excellent keyboard size and feel. Will require little adjustment.
WinXP ***NOT VISTA*** This is a big plus for me, especially with an Atom CPU
HD partitioned in half makes it bonehead easy to install Linux or OSX
No oddball parts requiring wizbang windows only drivers. Solid engineering.
Fedora10 works straight out of the box. Everything just works.
Matte screen treatment. Little if any glare.
Trim back power consumption, and I can get 8 hours 42 minutes of real runtime.
Runs faster than my 2GHz P4 full size laptop.
160GB HD
- Cons: Shiny top cover is a fingerprint and scratch magnet. You will want to get a skin.
Glidepoint mouse is oddly shaped and a little fussy. Could use a small ridge to define borders and scroll area.
Mouse buttons could use a tactile reminder where the right and left click areas are.
No serial port.
- Other Thoughts: It had me at hello. This is a solid contender and has replaced my 10 pound Panasonic Toughbook for field work. I have installed Linux to the second drive which I partitioned at 100GB. This thing just works. All the cons are either things I can live with, or are easily solved.
The serial port was necessary to connect to a network tester, and I have purchased a Serial to USB dongle. I permanently installed it to the tester's serial cable.
I will likely use faux leather contact paper to make a skin for the top, and the mouse I can live with. I'll get used to it.

- Other Thoughts: Bought the NC-10 for the office after reading lots of reviews of all the netbooks. This is widely considered the best in the 10" class, and my initial impressions back that up. The machine has great styling and delivers huge battery life, up to 8 hours depending on screen brightness and usage. The other key factor is the keyboard layout, which is the best of all netbooks so far--the shift key is in the correct place, arrow keys are where they should be, full F key layout, relatively large keys, etc.
All the netbooks have the same processor--1.6 270 Atom, so the variables are upgradability, battery, and ergonomics. The NC-10 is the best, worth the extra $50-75 Samsung charges.

Light/quick
- Pros: Long battery life

Durable
- Cons: Samsung ships the NC10 with a recovery partition. Not really a con for all, but I'll never use it and it's still gigs of space.
- Other Thoughts: Good linux support.

- Pros: Excellent Buy. Purchased 1 month ago. upgraded to2GB of memory before even cutting the unit on. Purchased the samsung DVD external Burner(usb type). Purchased longitec corless keyboard and mouse. Purchased longitec mini stan from the longitec websit. Computer is the bomb...battery life is great...screen is absolutley beatiful. All is well and Purchased a colorful skin to cover the top od my NC10($14.00) from decalgirl.com....My computer is the Bomb....Peace Out!!

Well Worth the Amazing Price
- Pros: Everything is a pro! The size, the weight, the feel of the keys (they arent dinky like some laptops) and it is small enough to carry anywhere but not too small that you can't type or see the screen properly. It fits in my purse no problem and you barely feel the weight difference. And it works really well with a outside monitor plugged in. I got a 23" flatscreen and it still looks perfect! The pictures look great (although you have to play with the settings to adjust with the small screen). I use the laptop as my main computer and just plug the monitor, speakers, mouse and keyboard, and external dvd drive in and it still works really well. The extra battery life is amazing and the extra memory is just a dream. And the extra warranty is not expensive at all for an extra 2 years. Overall it is an amazing laptop to get! Now that I got one, all my friends are begging their parents to get them one! :) I would have no hesitation to buy another one....
- Cons: Nothing really... The sound could be better but its not bad. Im just used to really nice speakers and its no problem hooking speakers up. Some people consider the no dvd drive a problem but just getting a external dvd drive is really easy. They are only about $100 and compared to a laptop with a dvd drive, its around a $800 dollar difference. :)
- Other Thoughts: I wish that they have a hard case to buy that would go with this. I am constantly carrying my laptop around and I am freaked that it might break by some freak accident.
