5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: Fast
Big Screen
mini HDMI

Cons: Dust under the glass
Not many aftermart products

Other Thoughts: I am a college student and use this every day for taking otes in class with the pen as well as doing homework and about everything else. I have a big desktop in my room but I find myself using the tablet all the time. The performance is excellent, it runs just as fast as most everyones laptop but is much more protable and has the touch and pen that they don't. The battery usually lasts me all day. I love being able to run real programs like office instead of apps so you can actually be productive with it. I even do some programming with it. i left Windows 7 on it and it runs great, I will probably upgrade to 8 when it comes out though. Samsung was thinking ahead with this one, the Windows 8 style home button says they had upgrading in mind. The downside is that you really are limited to Samsung's aftermart prodects which arn't great. The case makes it run hotter and leaves the pen hanging off the side. I am also getting small dust specs under the glass but hardly noticable

3 out of 5 eggsI'm keeping my PC for now...

Pros: It's a tablet that can use Windows and Microsoft Office. Not just a toy.
Core i5-M (Fast)
Gorilla Glass (Tough)
Samsung case fits great (Looks Great!)

Cons: Aftermarket attachments do not fit the ports correctly
Battery life is not great unless screen is very dim
Runs very hot with the Samsung case
Not able to use camera while case is on
No place to set stylus
Not many stylus options out there for Samsung
No 3G

Other Thoughts: I got the slate for onsite mapping and manipulating blue prints on job sites. It's light and easy to carry. It boots up fast and the display is great. I like being able to use Microsoft office on a tablet! I bought a lot of attachments later, in order to get it to operate like a PC. Wireless mouse, wireless keyboard, wireless scanner, VGA adapter (that doesn't work with the OEM dock) and Energizer battery for extended battery life on the road. In the end, it has become more expensive than a comparable laptop.

5 out of 5 eggsRuns Win8 really well

Pros: Nice looking device, good size, like the wide-screen.
Installed Windows 8 customer preview - works like a dream and really brings out the OS.
Oh, and it runs all my apps, connects to bigger screen/keyboard so I can use it like a desktop too.

Cons: needs a case. I worry what willhappen if I drop it.

Other Thoughts: No wonder Samsung is leading the game. Really nice device. Because of what it can do beyond the "reader-pads", well work the money because I saved having to buy a laptop.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Tablet

Pros: Lightweight, Efficient. No Issues with hardware or software. Great for working on the go. Handwriting recognition learns fast and quickly, making it easy to write out notes. Windows 7 works great with this tablet. Have not installed OS 8 Customer Preview though, no plans to. Also has a mini HDMI port, just need a converter. Sound works great, Netflix is awesome.

Cons: Harddrive Space. Had to get a 32 gig SD card to move programs too, and some useless OEM programs. Nothing major though. Also got a 16 gig low profile USB drive to help. Only 1 USB port. The auto adjust brightness is way to sensitive, utilize Gamebooster to help disable that, as I could not find the option within the tablet itself.

Other Thoughts: Dual booting with Backtrack 5, lowered the available memory left by 25 gig to allocate to this. With a micro SD card, I have plenty of space for everything else. Great little tool for doing a security analysis, quick and on the go. With a keyboard installed can even play some of my games on it, such as Eve Online. Norton is a joke, just uninstall and slap your own firewall/antivirus on there.

5 out of 5 eggsAs an Artist - needs tuning, but an Excellent Device

Pros: Portability of a Slate/Tablet
Power of Core i5-M
11.6" Screen
Gorilla Glass
---
Setup was easy breezy. Enter your basic Win install info, and go.
First thing I installed out of the box, was Easy PaintTool SAI, and encountered 0 pressure sensitivity. But was resolved within 10 minutes.
**Solution : download the ISD_DualTouch 702-21 drivers from ASUS for the EP121 (yes, ASUS, the drivers from Wacom [DualTouch 701-8] will not detect).
----
No Lag while watching 720p Video. Haven't loaded any 1080p's tho, since the native resolution is 1366x768.
----
File Transfer over WiFi was decent as well - 4mbs, 20ft away in different rooms. No dropped connections, no problems.
----
Battery Life seems good. For the low power program like SAI, and brightness at about 30% which is plenty bright even in well lit rooms. You'll have tons of time. (4+ hours) Will test playing music on headphones while drawing next.

Cons: Having to hunt drivers for the program I bought the device to use is a bit of a nuisance. Not an egg removal worth of nuisance tho, as the device is exactly as I wanted.
----
Norton and other bloatware I could have done with out.
----
Easier way to auto-disable touch would be nice, its cumbersome to do manually.
----
Be nice to tell/show users right away how to disable features like 'auto-dim on ambient light'. It feels like the sensor for detection is right where my hand rests, when drawing (on the right side near the power button/rotation-lock). So for about 10 minutes I had fun with that before just disabling.
----
Gets hot while outside. I took it out during lunchbreak the other day and it got HOT. Granted it was 80 outside at the time and sun was bright. I recommend drawing in the shade.
----
Others have said - no place to store the pen!! Sigh.

Other Thoughts: I bought this as a mobile Cintiq 12WX. Drawing on Gorilla Glass has a much different feel than the Cintiq. Light presses can be missed, I mean, light presses. Which isn't a huge deal, the pressure sensitivity does feel nice you've gotten accustom to it.

I miss the shortcuts on the sides of the Cintiq, but since I know where the options are in the menus, its just a slightly slower process.

Pens are not swapable. I tried. Slate does not pick up my tablet pens (Intuos3 or Cintiq).

I can see myself enjoying this for a good long time. Exactly what I wanted...a mobile digital sketchpad.

And all the other stuff it can do? Is bonus. ;) The fact its a genuine Win7 machine is fantastic, don't have to worry about any compatibility with my desktop/programs/games...and isn't just some souped up android/iOS machine. Had it connected to my desktop and pulling files in seconds.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Widi Review

Pros: already done a review

I obviously like the device.

Cons: this one is purely about the widi feature.

Other Thoughts: Was simple to setup and do with netgear push2tv hd adapter.
However, kept losing connection after about 30 min, so I went to Intel site and updated in order as they said.
1. wifi drivers.
2. hd3000 drivers.
3. widi software.
4. widi widget.

In addition, it prompted me to update the netgear firmware 2x during all of this.

After all that, it works great!
You can use it as a second monitor, not just mirror.
The widi widget is very helpful as it allowed me to shove a fullscreen netflix movie to my tv, and left it fullscreen, while i played around on the tab.

Works with or without blockages up to 20 feetish.
its almost fluid, but its like 1 fps lower than what the eye wont notice, so u do occasionally notice a glip, but im very happy with it still.

Widi utilizes about 30% of cpu

back to the slate. this thing does get glitchy playing back full hd, but not non hd.

The slate has a ton of cool features, but widi may be number 1 for me.

Wonder what my next upgrade w

5 out of 5 eggs2nd review

Pros: Widi widi widi

just buy a netgear push2tv, the later version that does 1080p, and you are all set. Look for my review on it in a few days.

Cons: this is carrotguy I have already posted a review, just wanted to add a followup

I stated before, that, while playing hd on netflix it stuttered a little, and that i didnt notice a difference when turned hd off.

what i meant by that was, when i turned hd off, it played smooth and i hardly noticed a difference in quality.

but, in addition I had a poker app in the background running, and with that off, HD plays smooth.

As for getting hot, well it gets very warm, but not quite hot. if there is ANY ambient noise in the room, you will not hear the fan. I have only heard it because online, people mentioned it and I then put my ear to it, and I was like, oh, so there is a fan, wow. didnt know.

I meant to put this next line last but,
This $1070 purchase, plus $150 in acsy I purchased, is worth every penny. Take a 500-600 laptop, with a good cpu, and add an ssd, touchscreen w/ digitizer, w/ gorilla glass, widi, bt3, and cram it into 11" form factor at 1/2" thick? It is totall

Other Thoughts: If this thing could play BF3 at good settings I would chunk my desktop.

A dock or stand is going to be a necessity, because you will still want the traditional keyboard mouse setup at home.

This thing runs great!

Samsung has done something special with it for increased boot times. It boots and restarts faster than my six core desktop with ssd.

I still like most samsung apps on here, which is a surprise for me.

To anyone who knows what they are doing, you can purchase this, and a 128gb msata drive, and install it yourself, cheaper than buying the 128gb version, and still have a spare 64gb ssd!!!

I have horrible handwriting, and while i amstill getting used to the ins and outs,, it does a good job of converting me to text.

one note is fun with a pen.

This is a real deal computer! A computer! it is better than most laptops I encounter, without the ssd.. add the ssd and this is better than anyones laptop i know, and i repair them for a living! It is a blast

5 out of 5 eggsAwesomeness

Pros: 1366x768
bright screen
i5
4gb ddr3
64gb ssd
win 7
widi

Cons: the keyboard app needs some work
expensive accessories.
1 usb (not 3.0)
mini hdmi. (or u hdmi)

no spot for pen, have to keep up with separately.

Other Thoughts: This is the greatest thing ever. Finally a truly portable and actual computer.

Thing is FAST!
In comparison to my desktop, which has a six core and ssd,
this is about 75% as fast in everything, though it did get choppy when playing netflix in hd.

i turned hd streaming off and didnt notice a difference.

The screen is exceptionally bright, first i wont use on full blast.

Battery is about 4 hrs and highly dependent on screen brightness.

I went from 7" android to 10" android back to laptop and now to this over a year, and im finally happy.

cant wait to buy a widi adapter for my tv.

I recommend this to anyone who can afford it and am looking forward to showing it off.
