4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works well.
Has nice specs for the price.
Missing a few things but at this price point its hard to beat.

Cons: Held back by slower HDD. Ram was 1 stick so thats a huge pro, had a matching stick same day. It may or may not have improved performance.

Lacks USB 3.0

SSD will for sure.

Other Thoughts: Bought this for the girlfriend for christmas.
Spoiled right?
She liked it, she also liked saying "quad core with 8 gigs of ram"
Now she might understand when i buy the FX-8350

4 out of 5 eggsPretty great for the price

Pros: For the low cost, you get the performance of a nice mid-tier laptop, and a 15" screen. Runs most things without a hitch. I'm a gamer with a budget, so it made me happy I could run L4D2 smoothly (though load time in between levels can be long), and even PS1 emulation is pretty great.

Cons: The bumpers on the screen that keep it from squishing closed too tightly don't seem to do anything. Every time I open my laptop, I have keyboard prints all over the screen. I also have marks along the bezel and near the track pad where they touched when closed, and perhaps some sand or random room detritus landed there, and now there are permanent marks and scuffs on both even after a thorough cleaning.

Other Thoughts: As an aside, I remember people recommending upgrading the ram to really see a boost in performance, which I did, but I haven't noticed a difference at all. Not sure who to blame, perhaps my own misunderstanding.

5 out of 5 eggsSick Budget low-mid tier gaming/casual Laptop

Pros: - CPUz shows the Quad Core doesn't even max out for doing normal applications.

- Smooth and runs 7 like a boss.

- Runs quick even before removing some bloatware (not alot preinstalled)

- Has the expanded num pad and directional pad like a full fledged keyboard

- Has its own dedicated GPU for gaming instead of the generic one. It score okay on benchmarks for games and 3d marks

- Runs League of Legends (Max Settings w/minimum shadows)
Max FPS: 60-70 / Min FPS: 25-28

- Runs Call of Duty MW 1 (High settings minimum shadows)
Max FPS: 44-51 / Min 17

Cons: The solid independent RADEON HD 6520G only kicks in on really demanding programs such as games. It runs idle for casual use, thus, the potential for smoother Win 7 usage such as maintaining Win7 Aero and streaming vids could've been better.

Other Thoughts: You pay for what you get. This was a excellent deal for a laptop that can do it all and light/casual gaming smoothly.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PC!

Pros: Great Price.
Solid Performance.
Very quiet fan.

Cons: Loads slow (due to bloatware)

Other Thoughts: I recently purchased this laptop and was glad.
I couldn't upgrade the ram however since i did not see
the option for it on the page :(
Wish newegg would contact me about this...

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing buy.

Pros: The laptop was an amazing buy.

Runs skyrim, new vegas, on high settings easily. renders 720p video very quickly. near silent fan. speakers are very nice, not tinny at all and produce a nice vibrant sound.

Cons: wish the frame had more exhaust ports. the ones it has are small in comparison to my asus a53u

Other Thoughts: added 4 gigs and i suggest that everyone does the same.
wonderful great product, wish i wouldve bought another

2 out of 5 eggsStopped Working 28 Days Old

Pros: I really liked this base level lap top. It was great for slinging to and from the office and on the road. Most of my data is in the cloud so I don't need a big hard drive. Beautiful display. Speedy on the wakening.

Cons: Unfortunately, it stopped powering up on it's 28th day. I contacted Samsung Support and had to send it in for repairs. $60 UPS shipping bill and I'm waiting for the results.

Other Thoughts: I wish I had spent a few hundred dollars more and purchased a better laptop.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat performance for a small investment

Pros: - Easy set up and quick start up time
- The quad core processor works FAST for the price
- Following the recommendations of others I added 4GB ram for faster performance and noticed the difference immediately.
- Windows experience index is 5.7
- Runs newer games (I tested Elder Scrolls Skyrim which worked well on lower graphic settings).
- Easy access to add ram/ swap hard drives
- Quiet fan
- Good battery life (nearly 5 hours running Microsoft Office on a full charge - will vary depending on energy settings)

Cons: - Bloatware is existent, but can be easily removed.
- Hard drive is smaller than most, but still decent for the cost.

Other Thoughts: I've done quite a bit of shopping online before purchasing this laptop. It is a great deal while it's on sale ($369.99).

Adding the additional ram cost about $18.50 and is worth the increase in speed and performance. (Windows Experience Index went from 4.6 to 5.7 with ram upgrade).

If you are looking for a budget laptop that can do all of the basic office work and multitasking (internet, Microsoft Office, Pandora Radio, etc). It's also capable of playing some more advanced games which is awesome considering it's a laptop well under $400.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget Laptop

Pros: Full keyboard, matte screen, and decent sized track pad are all a plus. For me the biggest pro is the Radeon Graphics. I haven't tested it on much else, but it plays Minecraft with HD text packs at 60+ fps. This was my main concern in getting a laptop. I love me some Minecraft. Also unexpectedly, the speakers were pretty loud for such an inexpensive laptop. Looks better than I expected. Many reviews stated the plastic had a cheap feel, I disagree. I think it looks and feels great.

Cons: Heavier than is comfortable, no USB 3.0, arrow keys too small, would have liked a slot loading disc drive, and camera could have been 1.3mp at least

Other Thoughts: Really great for under $400, would highly recommend for mobile mid-range gaming

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Deal!

Pros: Nice, fast computer - excellent construction, much nicer palette regarding the case - like the dark metal look! Comfortable and satisfying keyboard. Nice graphics card (512MB DEDICATED GPU memory - not shared as many people complain about when they say it is 'locked') Very quiet operation and has fans that can be controlled.

Great Windows 8 support, Samsung's driver support is just fantastic for this thing!

Cons: Just like all laptops nowadays, this has a 6-bit screen and they have decided to follow the crowd and dither colors (resulting in faint vertical stripes, most prevalent in reds and light blues) - I'm giving this 5 stars because even $600+ computers display this middling technological workaround and for the scratch I've spent it's still a darn good deal. With a bit of color calibration it is tolerable, but seriously, it's 2012 why are manufacturers still choosing to be cheap and dither colors???

Other Thoughts: Get the 4gb ram upgrade - well worth it!

3 out of 5 eggsUnstable/ Poor RMA response/

Pros: Good price, nice keys, ok performance.

Cons: I bought that laptop as a present and tested it for a bit streaming some videos on. Soon it started to reboot on its own every 30 minutes or so.

Other Thoughts: Given laptop being a present, unstable condition and ify price i decided to return for refund. Turned out that newegg does not provide full refunds on the items that has been opened, more than that they said it was working fine.
I do believe them, but would you drive a car that drives fine in the dealership and not drive when you need it? Best they could do is to give me a store credit taking 50$ off for defective products. So now i am stuck with newegg with possibility of running into another defective product.
