3 out of 5 eggsIt has grown on me - nice design

Pros: Bigger than my Galaxy S4. Resolution is not "retinal" but still very very good for movie watching. Much easier to read web pages than the 1080p S4. Makes me realize 1080p is kind of silly on anything less than maybe 10.1. Was disappointed by this tablet for 3 weeks but now beginning to appreciate the virtues of this mid-size and now understand the layout and use of the soft and hard buttons. Quality and performance is far beyond much the cheaper low resolution 7 inch tablets sold for less than $150. Wifi reception is good - instant no fuss link - works great in my steel reinforced concrete condo that creates problems for many other devices.

Cons: Others likely disagree as my "Cons" are base on personal preferences and expectation. I should have ordered the Tab 3 for button compatibility with Samsung Galaxy phone. I need the center "button". The 7 inch plastic screen is very prone to finger prints - more so than the gorilla glass of the S4. The volume control orientation does not change with position of the device - unlike the original and more elegant Galaxy 10.1.

Other Thoughts: For me the side mounted buttons are in the wrong places for easy use without accidental turning off but after 1 month am starting to adapt. The 8 or 10.1 inch, earlier versions or as Tab 3 are much easier to handle than the 7 inch. Again, personally, it is the wrong size for me. I have ordered a Tab 3 10.1 to replace the 7 on Black Friday. This Tab 2 7 inch will go to a nephew for Christmas - he loves it.

4 out of 5 eggsIs this item used?

Pros: Seems awesome. Speedy, looks slick, decent sound.

Cons: The protective stickers that were placed on the smooth surfaces were full of lint, dust, and sand. Consequently every where a piece of sand was trapped there is a scratch. I bought this new. I expected it to be like new. Not repackaged.

2 out of 5 eggsGood while it lasted - bricked itself during update

Pros: Good while it worked

Cons: While doing mandatory update (I could only click "OK"), it somehow got trashed. Now the screen will not stay on for more than 2 seconds. Done everything possible, including facotry reset, to fix to no avail.

Other Thoughts: How disappointing. The device was great while it worked, but I've had it 2 1/2 mo, and during a mandatory OS upgrade, it bricked itself. Nothing I have tried for 3 days, including a factory OS reset, has done anything. I have no idea what happened. Changed power settings, did everything I can think of to fix (and I can think of a lot), and the problem remains.

And, of course, it is past warranty.

4 out of 5 eggsOverall great product with minor discrepancies

Pros: The price is right and came with a great case. I'd recommend it over the regular one, the Samsung case is unbeatable. No function problems yet.

Cons: The 8GB internal memory stinks, but a micro SD card fixed that up. I payed for an extended warranty but didn't recieve any paperwork and I don't know how I'd take advantage of it if something did happen..

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Does everything I need it to do. Its light and easy to take anywhere. Watching movies and netfix is a good feature. And you can use it as a remote for your tv I thought that was going to be stupid but I use it all the time now.

Cons: Its a 8 gb but you only get 4 gb to use but not a big deal I just put in a 32 gb micro sd car so now I got 36gb

4 out of 5 eggsNice tablet

Pros: The standard stuff

Cons: Problems connecting to some WiFi.

Other Thoughts: Bought for my girlfriend. For the most part she is happy with it and can do most things herself, however after connecting the first time to her home Belkin N WiFi, it had problems connecting to her home WiFi after that. Works fine everywhere else, just can't use it at home. No other device has problems hooking into this router.

1 out of 5 eggsBuyer beware!

Pros: Not a bad device as long as you don't need much, never drop it, and generally don't expect to much from it.

Cons: Actually only has roughly 4.5 GB of memory for installing apps.

You might be able to install apps on as added SSD Card, but at this point I am unwilling to spend another $18 to find out. Samsung said I would be able to move apps to the SSD card after installing to local storage.

It comes with a cover, but sitting down reading, my son bumped my arm and I dropped it. It fell less than 3 feet, and even with the case on, the screen is now cracked.

With the screen cracked Newegg won't do anything, which is a shame, they used to be a place to help a guy out. Since the screen is obviously my fault from recklessly reading while sitting in a chair in my living room, it is damaged and the only thing Samsung can do is send me to the repair dept to see how much it will cost to repair. Out of frustration I told him I have already spent $219 on this device, I believe it is time to cut my losses and hung up .

Other Thoughts: It seems the physical damage card is being taken advantage of for building an inferior product.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat purchase

Pros: Style - my daughter loves it; nice screen; unobtrusive case folds back nicely

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I'm glad I got this instead of the less expensive tablet w/o case running 4.0 - also, came with free headset and 16 GB, nice combo

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost Perfect

Pros: GPS
Compass
Orientation sensors
IR Blaster
Very complete for use of apps.. lower cost devices often don't support all this

Cons: Proprietary Samsung cable.. instead of standard USB plug on device
The really cool red case that comes with the really cool red tablet blocks the IR blaster feature.. guess who ever they outsourced the case to didn't notice the little window for the IR.
No official FlashPlayer now.. so not all websites will play video.. be careful of Apps saying they will help you get Flash player.. some of them are trojans.

Other Thoughts: Its my first Android device...
Don't like it as much as my Windows Phone UI.. seems OLD and combersom but I like the Access to the android apps for now. In a a year I expect I will replace it with a Windows RT tablet. after the stupid APP developers figure out the market changes..
