Cons: To fully enjoy this, I installed Crouton. This requires some tech savvy and disabling the Chrome OS verification check on boot.

In Ubuntu, you cannot run Wine apps on an Arm processor (nor Skype)

Other Thoughts: I love this Chromebook. I bought it specifically because it uses the latest big.LITTLE Arm processor technology and has 4GB of system RAM. Although this is new technology, it is working better than I expected.

Crouton allows me to chroot into Ubuntu at full screen and pop back to Chrome to open a web page in a heartbeat.

I installed Ubuntu Trusty with XFCE 4 desktop with these packages:
- Libre Office Suite
- Sylpheed e-mail reader
- Evince Document Viewer (incl. PDF)
- Remmina rdp client
- Xiphos Bible Study software
- pySol games
- Netsurf browser (not really used much -- prefer using native Chrome)

These packages are all very light and run "zippy" on Ubuntu Arm

I use a cheap 8GB micro SD card to store large files, documents & downloads I still have plenty of room.

For me, this a great notebook computer that I can use anywhere.

Pros: the screen is the big selling point over other Chromebooks. 1920x1080 on a 13,3" screen is a very high pixel density compared to the vast majority of other monitors or laptop screens resulting in a great picture, easily outclassing any other Chromebook. It was worth the extra money compared to the alternatives with similar technical specs. it's fast, lightweight, quiet and cool, with a long battery life which is what a Chromebook should be

Cons: Integrated graphics.
ARM processor limits what applications you can use, but I can still do most of what I wanted.
Depending on what you want to use it for, these cons may not be cons for you at all. the Chromebook fits a specialized role, and i leave the heavy lifting to my desktop

Other Thoughts: I installed ChrUbuntu, so I can run the native Chrome OS or switch over to Linux which dramatically increases the versatility of this device and the range of applications I can run.

Pros: I'll let you know when I find one

Cons: Useless! Doesn't even do basic functions needed of a laptop. This thing is a joke if you need to do ANYTHING besides basic web browsing

Other Thoughts: Spend an extra $200 and get something useful

Pros: Great speed; easy to use; use mainly for email and internet searches. It's perfect! Extremely satisfied - fits my needs exactly. No more worries about upgrading and security protections! Never have to wait for downloads - netflix movies have great quality resolution. Had two of my co-workers test mine out and they both immediately bought one too! New Egg delivered extremely fast with free shipping! Totally happy with my experience

Cons: Speaker system could be improved - not the best, but adequate.

Pros: Low Cost, Full 1080P resolution.
Light Weight, Good battery life.
Can be loaded with a real Linux OS to make it fully functional.

Cons: Poor support for working on documents off-line.
Angle sensitive display - Not good for picture viewing.
I found it very difficult to move pictures from a phone or camera to the device.
All documents need to be uploaded to Google Drive for conversion.
Google has removed off-line support for all Open Document Formats.

Other Thoughts: I almost gave this Laptop 2 stars because I found out after purchase that Google has removed their app which allowed people to use Open Document Formats. For years I've been using Openoffice and read that the Chromebook would be capable of viewing and editing these files. One can only convert them to Google's DOC format. This is a huge disappointment and I would not recommend anyone purchase a Chromebook if they create .

Pros: Engadet said it best - "this is the best laptop you can purchase for $400.00".

Cons: None - The biggest complaint from reviewers is the display is not IPS. Most Chromebooks are not and most laptops in this price range are not. In my opinion the display is great and displays a true 1080p.

Other Thoughts: Great product!

Pros: Long battery, light, good performance for most things

Cons: Doesn't love flash. For certain applications this really ruins the device.
