5 out of 5 eggsValue for money that cannot be denied

Pros: Unbeatable for travel. Looks great -- big performance in a thin package, too. I can do 90% of what I need to do... email, surf the web, work on MS Word and Excel documents. With things like Google Docs, Dropbox, and tons of apps, as long as you have a wi-fi connection (and sometimes I even use my phone as a 3G or LTE hotspot when required), this little Chromebook absolutely gets it done. Great keyboard, responsive touchpad, good screen (though not true HD, it's pretty close), and fast performance. In sleep mode, just open the screen and you're working a few seconds later, literally. Good stamina -- battery lasts 6+ hours with no problem. Probably longer, but I've never pushed it.

Cons: 32GB would have been much nicer than 16GB, but for the price, zero complaints. Runs a little warm if you leave it on your lap for a while... only slightly, though. Adapter is a little annoying (it's not small and compact... long cables, too).

Other Thoughts: Bought two refurb/scratch & dent units for under $100 each, and really, the only thing that betrayed the "scratch & dent" designation was the bottom of the chassis. Keyboard, touchpad, and screen were both flawless on both units. Simply no complaint at all. Manage your expectations and you can't help but be thrilled with this sweet little Chromebook.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little chromebook

Pros: Unit was listed as B refurb. The unit I received was more like an A- at worst. The unit had a few minor abrasions in the one place you don't care about, the bottom of the unit. Otherwise the unit was spotless. No scratches or anything. Very pleased with the performance. I'm using it to type this review.

Cons: Cannot upgrade but then most chromebooks in this price range are, what they are. Besides, not sure it really needs any more performance.

Other Thoughts: I loaded linux xfce for the fun of it. Both chrome OS and xfce run well together.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Little Chromebook

Pros: Great condition for a grade B refurb. Purchased two (2) as gifts for my Godsons. They love them. They are able to take care of business (research, homework, email, shopping, lite gaming).

Cons: The ARM architecture makes it more difficult to install Linux. I think there is a way to install Ubuntu via Crouton but not sure how difficult it is and if I will be able to easily switch between OSs.

Other Thoughts: Overall, it is an excellent value for the price. It does what it's supposed to do. Very light weight weight.

4 out of 5 eggsGood deal for a good unit

Pros: Only minor scratches on the on the LCD cover, otherwise can't tell it's a refurb.

Cons: A little sluggish but still very usable

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value for the price

Pros: My second Chromebook ... this unit was originally manufactured in May 2013 (making it 30 months old). Works well, battery seems to be fine, slight blemishes but in otherwise nice , clean shape. Well packed ... but no documentation at all (so if you never had a Chromebook before, you'll want to read up on the internet about it before you first turn it on)

Cons: My expectations were for a grade B refurb, so I didn't expect brand new factory fresh condition. Just keep that in mind.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent - After an "adjustment"

Pros: This is an excellent value for surfing the web, watching videos, letting the kids use, and taking places without too much paranoia that it will get stolen.

Cons: My new Chromebook arrived in great shape, but the mouse tracking pad didn't have a positive "click" to it. After a quick search I discovered that if you (1) place a warm pack over the track pad to loosen the adhesive, (2) peel off the trackpad cover from its adhesive backing, then(3) re-position the trackpad cover so that it's not rubbing against anything, the trackpad will be fixed. It appears this is a common issue, but now I'm happy!

5 out of 5 eggsUnbeatable Deal!

Pros: Great Display, screen resolution. Nice keyboard. How can you possibly beat the price? New egg delivers as promised. For a class B refurbished model arrived in good shape. just some light scuff marks and a few very minor scratches on the lid and the back. Monitor and screen along with keyboard in excellent condition. Boots fast, holds charge. Very happy with this purchase.

Cons: Not as fast loading pages as my Acer C720 Chromebook. Maybe because of Acer's Haswell Architecture or intel processor. I haven't compared the specs.

Other Thoughts: Well worth the price. Look at how much you would pay for a decent tablet. New egg customer service is the best. Helped place order and apply discount code. Shipping time is always incredible. I would not hesitate on this deal. New egg delivers again!

5 out of 5 eggsBest deal I have found!

Pros: I can detect NO wear and tear.

Cons: Know what you are getting. This is not a PC that you will install programs on. This is a fast Linux machine running Chrome a variant of Android.

That said, you can do most of what people want to do on it by using online programs. Fast and secure. No problems with viruses.

Other Thoughts: Comes in a bare box with the power supply. No documentation, but that is fine with me.

4 out of 5 eggsKiller deal!

Pros: Can't beat this price for what you get and Newegg Rocks...ordered on Wednesday and in my hands on Friday. Outside of a very small nick on the back (and I mean small) the Chromebook looks brand new and runs like a champ. Being a Linux guru, I was even able to install Linux on it (specifically KDE) in a side-to-side basis and was impressed as to how fast it runs...switching between Linux and Chrome OS is a breeze. And while there is a false notion that Chrome OS is limited, I find that I can get 90% of my work done using just Chrome OS. The only time I pop over to Linux is I find using ssh and some other apps a bit easier in Linux than Chrome.

Cons: No lighted keyboard, this really is something needed by the road warrior when traveling and siting on a red-eye flight...dinged an egg because of that. Also while I understand the concept of Chrombooks, unfortunately in today's word of multimedia, being able to watch a locally stored movie when traveling makes life a bit easier. While the Chromebook seems to have no problem with youtube videos and the likes including Netflix, it's a challenge to get videos to play locally with your ripped movies. I was able to do so using an application called Handbrake, but the quality was a bit disappointing (maybe I need to experiment more)but for now I prefer my Nexus5 cell phone with its 5" screen to watch movies than the Chromebook.

Other Thoughts: Overall though, no complaints and very happy I picked this up...and you can beat this refurb price!
