Who said that you get what you pay for? Lenovo will fix that notion! The 3000 N series has the features you crave, and remains an outstanding value. Starting with a bright 15.4" WSXGA+ monitor backed by an NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 graphics card, you might need to be careful to avoid being seduced by this sweet system's mad multimedia skills. The dual layer DVD burner will use that screen to good effect as it for your movies and games, not to mention playing music and running word processing programs.
Don't just think of this as just another glorified portable DVD player. This system brings home the goods with 2GB of DDR2 memory just like the big kids. The 2.0GHz processor can cope with even a demanding user’s needs. Don't forget the 120 GB storage capacity crammed into its compact case. With that kind of storage, you need the integrated fingerprint reader to protect all that precious information.
Try figuring out how they put all these amazing features in to this tiny titan and still make a profit. It's uncanny.

excellent buy
- Pros: This laptop has an excellent screen, sturdy keyboard and construction, plenty of usb ports, and a great buy. This laptop comes with just everything that is packed into a high-end Dell latitude, but the Lenovo is a far better laptop. It carries the reputation of the IBM Thinkpads, and I'm expecting this laptop to stand up to wear and tear very well. The wireless connectivity is great with 802.11 b/g AND n. You can't beat this deal.
- Cons: Wired LAN is only 100 MB/sec, no DVI output, lid surface scratch very easily, and the speakers aren't made for listening to music (you have to use headphones). I don't care for Vista, so uninstalled it and set up XP on it and it runs fine. Fingerprint reader isn't working yet with XP, but I should be able to fix that soon. I can hear the fan every now and then (and I'm really picky about noise), but it's not as bad as my old Toshiba.
- Other Thoughts: Most of the mainstream laptops out there are second rate, and I'm talking about HP, Compag, and Toshiba. Don't waste your money; spend a few extra bucks and go with Lenovo or IBM. If you're purchasing a Sony or Dell, you're probably paying way too much.
Nice build quality
- Pros: Thinkpad quality, but at an outstanding price. Solid keyboard, solid case; doesn't flex. Had all the features I wanted: 1680x1050, Core2Duo, 2GB RAM. It's very fast with Windows XP. Pretty light too.
- Cons: It's from China. I would have bought a Taiwanese brand but the client objected to the several hundred dollars difference in price. Can't fault the quality though.

The Price is ok, but....
- Pros: I found this laptop to be somewhat sturdy, with the features listed, and is pretty easy to use. Good Keyboard, and the mouse has yet to have a problem. Screen has pretty good colors.
- Cons: Needs more memory to run Vista HP! It came with 1 GB, and i thought that would be enough. NOT AT ALL. I just ordered two GB of Corsair for it. Also: battery life is marginal, Pretty heavy, and really thick! watch out for the battery clips, they can break on you. I am a high school student, and its hard to carry this thing around, even with my 6 foot 3 frame.
- Other Thoughts: I should have waited and saved my money on something that was sturdier, and lighter... the thing has started my shoulders to hurt. There was a ASus that caught my eye... and a fugitzu. both cost about double, but they have magneszium cases.
