- Pros: Wow! I have turned it on and been nothing but impressed since. Having a separate Video card really speeds up Vista and the 3GB of Memory are perfect. Veriface Technology is so cool too :) Also, having the keypad on the laptop is awesome for serious data entry.
- Cons: Battery life has yet to yeild even close to three hours, so the projected 4 hours is a joke.
- Other Thoughts: The HD is partitioned into two drives and you will fine out why after you read the forum below. Also, your documents are defaulted to the smaller partition, change it to the larger one and you'll be fine. Don't hestitate to get this computer.

Nice but Vista
- Pros: It has a huge 250GB hard drive that is fairly fast coming in at 5.1 in Vista's performance rating. This is very good for a 5400rpm hard drive. The Veriface password program works great. The onboard camera reads my face instead of me having to type a password. Decent video card rates 4.9 for gaming in Vista. Memory is quicker than than it's little brother the Y510. CPU is rated at 5.1 in Vista. Decent sound for on the road use. Really neat button on the top left of keyboard panel allows switching fomr Performance setting to Power Saver setting and visa-versa. You can add a 2nd Hard Drive! (haven't done it yet)
- Cons: Partitioning of the 250GB drive. It has 2 partitions. C: is 29GB with little space left from Vista. The second partition D: is totally free. Everytime you install new software you will have to manually change the install location to D: as there is very little available space in C: I also wish Notebook manufacturers would more honest battery life time estimates as even on the Power Save setting the battery get barely more than 2 hours.
- Other Thoughts: Get a partition manager and either make the first partition bigger or eliminate it entirely. I plan to make the partitions about equal in size. I want to install a second hard drive and put Windows XP on it. I then plan to clone XP to my original hard drive's D: partition. There is a program that allows you to reboot into a different partition that has your different operating system (XP in my case). I haven't used it yet but it is on Maximim PC's magazine free CD disc. (make sure you buy the mag that has the cd in it because some sell a version that has no free cd) After everything is running smoothly I will clone the original hard drive to my second newer hard drive and pull it and only occasionly back it up if my system is running clean and smoothly. I know alot of people like RAID and mirror there primary hard drive but I am strongly against this as if you get a virus or registry corruption it could mirror onto your back-up hard drive. Hope this helps.
