Nice Computer

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: -nice and thin & light for the size -large wide screen display -great high quality keyboard, not a lot of noticeable flex -finger print scanner is convenient (and super fun getting it to work on Ubuntu) -core 2 duo lets me run a bunch of programs at once with no problems -optical drive, I need it for some classes otherwise I would have gone w/o -touch pad works great, nice feel, multi-touch -no problems with wi-fi in Linux or Windows -No problems w/ dual boot with Ubuntu 10.04 -battery charges from 5% power 100% in about 45 min.
Cons: -no blue tooth, but I knew that before I bought it -a lot of bloat-ware on Windows -display has a narrow viewing angle, this is why I only put 4 eggs -comes with Windows installed (sorry couldn't help myself)
Other Thoughts: This is an all around great computer. I am able to get over the minor annoyances pretty easily because of the great quality. I've read some reviews on other sites claiming that the plastic cover felt cheap, but it's plastic so that's what it feels like, not necessarily a cheap feel. I have no problems with it. The real life battery is about 5 hours general use. Not great, but definitely not bad either. O.K. speakers. When all is said and done, I love this computer. Great quality at a good price.

This is the stuff...

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Big screen, light weight, Lenovo quality keyboard, fast (SU7300 Dual Core)
Cons: Keyboard layout not optimal, don't expect any support from Lenovo, though you probably won't need it. Get everything from Newegg.
Other Thoughts: (See my other review on Amaz0n.com) I am still thrilled with this computer for the price. The complaints of lack of speed with the SU4100 processor appear not to be applicable to this version, which uses the SU7300. I find it very quick for all of my daily applications, which are likely the same as most folks. The keyboard layout differences do take some getting used to (Fn key is where I am used to the Ctrl key being, for example). Nice dedicated numerical keyboard. Small arrow keys, though. Note that this version lacks bluetooth -- the one sold on the Lenovo site has bluetooth. It is a brown color, though. Also, there is no Firewire port on this one, which I was not aware of and would have like to connect my video camera to. I am betting that the 14 inch U450 is as good, and in some ways better - this big screen is great, but being widescreen, many web pages do not extend that wide, and the extra width is wasted. Still, it is a pleasure to use this machine. Well worth $
