2 out of 5 eggsDied after 2 years

Pros: Nice low-cost personal laptop. Lightweight, deceptively sturdy for the quality of components used.

Cons: Unit died after just after 2 years of service. Will have to disassemble to diagnose. Fan startup but no POST (maybe video or power module issue).

Other Thoughts: Figures that this unit fails just months after the extended 1-year warranty expired. I trust Lenovo laptops, but would never buy one of the low-end units again.

1 out of 5 eggsDead after 14 Months

Pros: The Laptop was cheap, and though now discontinued by the Egg it can still be had online. (though for inflated prices) It ran reasonably well, and never had any problems until....

Cons: Constantly erasing everything I type when I accidently touch the touchpad while typing. Very frustrating.

After 14 months it finally died. I was using it on a lapdesk while on the couch and I heard "pop." Next thing I know I have a dead laptop in my lap that will not turn back on. The only way to fix this is to purchase a new motherboard (currently running around $240-$300, obviously not worth it)

It amazes me that it died only TWO MONTHS out of warrenty, alright to be fair...two months 13 days :/

Other Thoughts: This was mine and my wife's first laptop. I usually stick to desktops for everything. It just seemed a bit more convenient than powering up the beast for light web browsing.

We are now in the market for a new web browsing laptop. I feel really ripped off after only 14 months of usage. I was really expecting at least 3 years.

I spend quite a bit yearly on computer electronics, now I am looking to purchase a new laptop. This was however my first experience with Lenovo, unfortunately for them this will also be my last. Quality concerns trump cost in my book any day. I would rather spend another $50-$75 and have something that will last rather than purchase another defective product.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat laptop for the price

Pros: First this not a gaming machine but it was not built to be one. But what it was built for it does most excellently.

Cons: 1.5 hour battery life. Not bad for me because I mostly use it at my study desk.

Other Thoughts: I have had this for 10 months and it does everything that I bought it for, internet, biblical studies, and email.
10 months and still going strong. Bought it for <400$ and have zero problems. Connect to my cisco router with one or two clicks, easy install. Dont't forget to click the wifi on switch, easy to miss. VOE

4 out of 5 eggsRelatively solid workstation

Pros: Spec'd well. Seems to perform well. Has good hand feel and users comfortable with it.

Cons: Have had some keys pop off one of the 3 that I bought. Easy to replace & have stayed on, but this concerns me. (-1 egg!)

Other Thoughts: We immediately wipe all new machines & reimage with W7Pro & volume licenses. This went easily with these machines & we were able to find the drivers needed for any of the special features.

5 out of 5 eggsGets the job done!

Pros: CHEAP- Look for a deal, I've bought two, one at $350 and the other at $299

Decent Graphics- Radeon HD4200 has good performance, runs most 1080p video without a hitch

Linux Support- Ubuntu 10.04 runs nearly flawless, only the headphone/microphone ports are unsupported

Cons: Battery is poor- gives about 2-3 hours worth of charge at max

Speakers aren't as loud as they could be

Trackpad is not multitouch, and edge scrolling is not supported under linux

Other Thoughts: For the price, it can't be beat. If you're looking for a cheap laptop for general use around the house where it can be plugged in if necessary, this is a great solution.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: plenty of good stuff for the price at the time(~$300), see other reviews

Cons: not very sturdy- two of three of the usb port broke from the micro usb dongle i left inside and the support for the earphone outlet is damaged so it falls out
static shock from the charge area. ouch.
fn key where ctrl should be- got used to it but still noticeably cumbersome
monitor is black when i switch it back out of sleep- have to flip screen panel until it decides to show up.
battery life not as long as in the product description
loud

Other Thoughts: some cons were inpart from my own negligence though i expected better.. was my fist laptop and im pleased with it

5 out of 5 eggsGood Laptop!

Pros: Rugged like case
Low Price
Solid Construction
---> Great Performance! <---
Great battery life!

Cons: Had to replace HD to 320GB
Original 160GB HD is not good
Only 3GB and not DDR3
All drivers not compatible with 64bit Windows 7
Original Installed software makes computer VERY SLOW!

Other Thoughts: Double your battery life with SSD!
Did fresh install of Windows 7 32bit, made it 20 TIMES FASTER!!!
Should be 4gb DDR3!

MANUFACTURERS SHOULD NOT INSTALL TRASH ON THEIR COMPUTERS TO AVOID LOOSING ALOT OF CUSTOMERS!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

Pros: Great, reliable brand. Dual core and 3GB of RAM allows for easy multitasking. Windows 7 runs great and is super fast and stable.

Cons: battery life could be better, but then again, if I wanted to spend more money on an extended life battery I could.
