3 out of 5 eggsBAD touchpad, otherwise good value

Pros: Full numeric keypad at a low price, nice bright screen, exterior finish doesn't show fingerprints as much as others do. Windows 7 OS is verrrry peppy once the Lenovo bloatware and bulky antivirus is replaced with ESET NOD32 product.

Cons: BAD AWFUL TERRIBLE TOUCHPAD! The APLS touch pad does not have it's own controller, so it uses some of the resources of the CPU. If your laptop is under a heavy CPU load the touch pad becomes choppy. On a DAILY basis the touch pad registers clicks I did not make, usually while I am typing, sometimes wiping out entire paragraphs (thank goodness for the UNDO function!). I type about 60 words per minute on average. I had to stop twice while writing this portion of the review due to misinterpreted clicks on the friggin touchpad. Grrrrr. battery life could be better but for the price I can tweak the power settings and get by. Included bloatware and anti-virus really slow down the machine. Included facial recognition software is worthless, can be cheated using a picture of your face held in front of the camera, lol. NO included accessories. NO HDMI output.

Other Thoughts: Ideal laptop if you plan to use an external mouse. Highly recommend disabling touch pad completely. Have read online that support for this model is almost non-existent. Be sure to buy from a retailer like NewEgg who is good about returns in case the touch pad is broken or turns out to be a deal breaker for you.

5 out of 5 eggsLenovo Fan for life!

Pros: I've had this laptop since May. It was referred to me by a friend and I had never heard of the brand before so I just went with it. I've never been happier with a laptop right out of the box. It blows HP and Dell out of the water. Great little processor and memory and with Windows 7 its even quicker. Works great running several apps at once. Love the full keypad as well. I'll be a Lenovo fan for life and I recommend this laptop to anyone who just needs a laptop for basic stuff.

Cons: The only con I could come up with is the battery life. I'd like it if the battery lasted just a bit longer.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor warranty support

Pros: Price, Windows 7

Cons: I've had problems with the battery not taking a charge and later with the system not powering on at all. I was very difficult to obtain warranty replacement for the battery. Shortly afterward the motherboard apparently failed. The laptop has been at the Lenovo "depot" for over three weeks and still not returned. They don't have parts for it available. I first had to buy a second battery and then a second laptop since I could not be without a laptop for so long.

Other Thoughts: I have a long history of working with hundreds of Lenovo computers, both desktop and laptop, since the company bought IBM's PC business. All previous experiences have been excellent. This low priced model line seems to be outside of their usual system offerings. Lenovo dealers will not service this model.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat computer

Pros: I love it! It's lightweight, has a coloful, bright screen, and stays cool on my lap. It was up and running very quickly with very little fuss. The textured case is nice, and the touchpad works just like every other tough pad I have ever used. I still prefer a mouse, but the touchpad works just fine.

Cons: The only con is that there is a lot of bloatware on the machine at startup, but a little deleting takes care of that!

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Computer has a great price tag, good performance, nice features. I rated this product 2 eggs for the cons section. Newegg is great and shipment was fast.

Cons: I purchased this product from newegg, but when i opened the package and started the computer, i discovered it had a dead pixel, i sent it to the repair depot for lenevo and got it back with the same dead pixel, i sent it back to lenovo again, and it came back with the same dead pixel along with a pretty large scratch on the back of the laptop screen. this will be the third time that i am sending the computer back to the repair depot, lets see if it actually gets fixed. I've owned the computer for a little more than a month and it has been at my house a total of 4 days....

Other Thoughts: I've always heard good reviews about lenovo and this computer, but the problems I've been having with their customer service and repair department are outrageous... will not be purchasing from lenovo again.

5 out of 5 eggsFor the money, it's great

Pros: You must consider the price when reviewing this laptop. it is a good value. The screen is not of high quality but overall it works great, just remove all the crapware.

Cons: Screen can be better

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap, Light, Quiet, Windows 7

Cons: Keyboard and trackpad take some getting used to, Tons of Bloatware

Other Thoughts: Bought it for a cheap, email/surfing/writing machine. Don't really intend to use it for anything more than Word or Firefox. Works great for what I need it for. Would never use as a main system or anything, but for the price it's a great buy as far as I'm concerned. No real complaints

4 out of 5 eggsworth the price

Pros: price, weight and an upgrade to windows 7

Cons: keyboard layout...ugh.

Other Thoughts: I picked this up cheap to supplement my aging desktop and to try out windows 7. I'm quiet satisfied with it--quiet, reliable and it seems sturdy enough--I don't haul it around too much. Had to unload a bunch of pre-loaded bloat ware, but that's typical.

I'm put off a bit by the keyboard, which has a number pad on the right side. Great if you need it--I don't. As a result the main keyboard, mouse pad and buttons are off center to the left. I guess I'll adapt eventually, but for now I'm having to consciously check on my hand position on the keyboard, otherwise I right click when I want to left click...minor thing, but annoying.

Otherwise, I'm happy with it.

4 out of 5 eggsNot a bad little laptop!

Pros: Nice and lightweight, bright display, quiet operation, and fast.

Cons: Power cord plug can interfere with disc drive opening if turned the wrong way. Also, Office 2007 trial preload is obsolete according to MS, they want to install Office 2010 instead.

Other Thoughts: I upgraded to this machine from an older laptop running XP, and the difference is like night and day. May not feel like the sturdiest machine for a road warrior, but for home use should be fine.
