Pros: Good value for what it offers. The performance for the cost and size is more than exceptional. Looks very sleek.
Cons: Too many bloatware/unnecessary programs installed. Fan runs at full speed at all times. CPU runs and fan blows hot but it is bearable. Fast forward to 2 weeks of ownership - fan began to make loud clicking and rattling noises (still functional though), left mouse button has sunk into the laptop itself. The laptop finally refused to boot after the 3rd week and is currently at HP for "hardware repairs" which is under warranty.
Other Thoughts: I was satisfied with the laptop before the problems began. I had little to nothing to complain about. I was surprised that the laptop failed so soon even with proper care and usage.

Not Bad after HP RMA
Reviewed By: WiLL on 9/15/2009
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: When I first got this, the unit's fan noise is TERRIBLE. System runs pretty hot and the FAN is just too LOUD. After a week, I just couldn't take this &h!T anymore. So called up HP and complain'd to their TECH guys about the CPU fan & RMA'd the unit. 5 days later, they return the UNIT with a new FAN, it's very QUIET now ^_^ If you have fan issues, call HP.
Cons: FAN, FAN, THE FAN!!! and Of Course, HP's stupid BLOAATTWARE...who needs MY HP GAMES??? LOL

Beautiful system but so-so battery life

Pros: Overall I am very happy with the dv2-1110us - the system is surprisingly slim and sturdy with zero build-quality issues on the laptop itself (the external cdrom has a minor issue). The LCD is bright with saturated colors, the metal LCD housing and casing are very sturdy. The keyboard is a little cramped - but it feels like and looks like high quality - with zero keyboard flex. The external cdrom that came with mine is a DVD/RW writer by the way. And, H-P has finally fixed their SD card readers - the dv2 has a push and click type reader - unlike the cheaper readers on my dv4t and my (sold) dv6500. I am also surprised at how well it runs with just 2-Gb of RAM. That said, I believe it would be snappier with an (expensive) 4-Gb RAM chip.
Cons: I do not regret buying the dv2 - but I am a little unhappy with the battery life and thus only four eggs. I am only getting around 2:45 out of mine using wi-fi and brightness down a couple of notches. And, this is a little nit-picky - but the faceplate on the exernal cdrom rattles and is loose on mine when it is opened.
Other Thoughts: I have not experienced any of over-heating issues mentioned by other reviewers. This dv2 is a well-built and beautiful system - I highly recommend it if you want a highly portable system and if long battery life is not a requirement for you.
