5 out of 5 eggsQuick Compact and Windows 7

Pros: Wiped windows xp and put windows 7 rc on in under 30 min. Installed great, runs great, not much to complain about yet.

Cons: Lettering on cover won't last, going in and out of a bag or case that isn't extra soft will cause the paint to start chipping. Not going to stop me from buying another one though.

1 out of 5 eggstotal waste

Pros: it looked good on paper

Cons: within one hour of usage the mouse stopped working and we were unable to restore. we checked other forums and found similar complaints and not a single "quick fix". RMA requested and we are going to wait on a netbook for now.

5 out of 5 eggsEXCELLENT MACHINE

Pros: Love this little machine - when you take a look at the specs, it is actually quite the little powerhouse! Runs everything I need it to. I was surprised to see that it runs NetBeans very well, even can play some Dwarf Fortress! It's small, lightweight, perfect to carry to work. The keyboard is perfect size and easy to work on, even with medium size hands. I can touch type perfectly with little to no errors.

Highly recommended for people that aren't trying to find a "laptop" to use in place of a desktop. I consider this unit to be a supplement to my powerhouse desktop, but I often find myself using it more than I do my desktop.

Cons: The battery life could be better, but I cannot expect much from a 3-cell patter. The touchpad is very sensitive and often senses my thumb hitting it when I am typing.

Comes with Windows.

Other Thoughts: Put Ubuntu on the unit the second I got it - runs like a charm, highly recommend it for everybody out there.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect size and capability!

Pros: I decided to buy this and use it for a few months before reviewing. I like the size, screen is ledgible (can zoom in and out) and has no glare when in the sun, weight is feather light, color looks professional, keyboard is good size even for my big pianist hands, its durable, didn't break after dropping it on carpet, even grabbing it consistently from its LCD screen, lol, wow, and it can handle some games and editing, doesn't get too hot like other netbooks. It has plenty of Hard Drive to hold tons of music, programs, movies, files. RAM Memory is sufficient. Web cam looks good on Yahoo Messenger, built in Mic is clear on Ventrilo n Teamspeak. Wifi is solid and speedy. Quick buttons are very convenient in adjusting brightness, volume, mute, battery option, screen option, 10 Keypad, wifi, and webcam.

Cons: My cons are not really fair because I didn't really buy it for these reasons. But it doesn't have bluetooth built-in ($3 dollar fix), the ctrl key is not on the corner like i'm used to (get used to it easy) the 3 cell battery only gives me 2~3 hours of use (buy the bigger battery version or $46 6hour battery, worthy fix) , touch pad sometimes gets in the way when typing (disabled it, get wireless mouse). Does not play HighDef videos too good but they are watchable, Standard Def is no problem. Hard Drive is split into 2 drives so I install and save everything on the bigger D Drive.

Other Thoughts: Games: Played all my fave games, Age of Empires, Command n Conquer Red Alert, Generals, Zero Hour (although a lil choppy but fun). World of warcraft is fun to run around in with this thing. Hehe. But the newest areas are choppy. 1-2fps in Dalaran (not good). 3~10fps in Org. All settings disabled n lowest. :D
Editing: Photoshop Basic, and I even installed ACID Pro 7.0 and it does my basic music editing. I promise.
The more things you install the slower the Boot Time is. Disable unnecessary start up programs using Windows Defender.
Keep your computer clean and it won't be slow like other novices claim.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: This is a great little netbook. I looked around for a long time and did quite a bit of research for my choice.

-perfect size... especially the flush 3 cell battery
-good screen
-didn't have any trouble with getting used to the keyboard
-works great with Windows 7 build 7264
-easily able to upgrade RAM to 2gb
-overclocking with the bios update provided by MSi is awesome (up to 24% OC)
-GMABOOSTER allows the gpu to operate at full potential
-great MSi Wind online community that's very helpful
-ecxellent for simple tasks like web browsing, messaging and email and also listening to music and watching video over my network.

Cons: There are a couple cons with this netbook but a couple are not necessarily cons considering that you see the specs and know what you're buying and this is a great bang-for-your-buck netbook.

-3-cell battery is not very good. I'd say I generally get 2 hours easy with around half brightness, wifi on and not doing much. Luckily there are cheap 6 and 9 cell alternatives.
-like all netbooks it's not brilliantly fast but netbooks are for certain simple tasks not hardcore gaming or anything.
-have to remove entire bottom of casing to upgrade RAM (not a big deal pretty easy but still a con because lots others have a door)
-there's 2 different touchpads you can get with this netbook, the sentelic brand one and the synaptics brand one. Unfortuantely I got the one with the poorer sentelic one which doesnt have slide scrolling on the side of the touchpad.

Other Thoughts: Even though I think this is a great netbook, especially at the price I got it at, I am still regretting not waiting for the 1005ha. When I bought this I had seen the 1005ha and liked it but didn't think it would be coming out for quite some time and I needed something now. Of course with my luck a couple days after I buy this the 1005ha is out for pre-order. The 1005ha really seems worth it (spending a bit more money but getting much more battery life and even the n280 option and the seashell styling is nice)

However, that doesn't mean I can take away any eggs because it is a great buy.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome little notebook

Pros: Great build quality and feature set for the price. When you really think about it, the MSI Wind offers a lot for what it costs.

Others:
-very responsive for normal tasks like internet browsing
-very solid, great build quality
-bright, crisp display (even at 10" the text remains easy to read)
-sharp looks

Cons: -Horrendously short battery life with the 3-cell model

-The price went down ten dollars two days after I purchased this machine...a little miffed about that

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend this machine for any person seeking a cheap, easy way to browse web/check email/use IM clients. However, get a 6-cell battery or greater in order to fully enjoy this computer.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Laptop

Pros: Ultra portable little laptop. I works well for note-taking at school and internet browsing. The full size keyboard is great, you don't feel cramped when typing.

Cons: You have to use an external CD/DVD-it's too small for a built in one.
