4 out of 5 eggsNice for the price!

Pros: - Sleek, sexy design
- Very light weight and ultra-portable
- Decent build quality
- Display is bright, sharp, decent colors
- Lots of ports (HDMI, 2 USB, etc.) and well located
- Simple touchpad works well
- Good performance for this class CPU
- 3+ hours on ultra-slim battery

Cons: Mushy keyboard (very noticeable flex)
- No scroll bar or two-finger scroll on touchpad (some may prefer it)
- Processor is single core
- MSI has egregious procedures for Win 7 upgrade and warranty registration (short deadlines for mailing in information, requiring original invoice for both, etc.)

Other Thoughts: I have both X320 and X340. Both very similar except X340 has better graphics chip so plays full screen video better and it has a faster processor, so it performs noticeably better as well. (X320 is acceptable),

Overall I am very pleased with this "super netbook" -- the display is a big step up from my 1024x600 10" screen netbook and very nice. Actually thinner and lighter than my netbook and performs better. Perfect for email and web surfing.

I'm getting used to the keyboard, not a deal breaker for me, might be for some. Bright, sharp display, easy to read text, decent colors, decent contrast. Typical viewing angles OK for this class.

Very nice design, feels sturdy enough to me. I got mine for a very good price, so I'm well pleased with it.

You are paying a premium for the ultra-portable design, you can get more performance cheaper if more weight and size are acceptable for your purposes.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Lightest 13.4" Laptop on the market
Very slim, though MacAir seems much thinner side by side
Screen is Beautiful and seemingly huge for the size/weight
Performance exceeds expectations - Very snappy with Vista and Win7, handles multi-tasking very well, full-screen flash video is smooth
Feature rich - cute OS additions, and has all the latest tech, like bluetooth, webcam etc.
Speaker is acceptable

Cons: Build: Feels cheapy in comparison to MacAir. A lot of flex in monitor
Keyboard: Really bad feel. Flex's bad in center, and feel is just generally bad. Layout of keys is actually very good though
Touchpad: Not a synaptic touchpad! Overly-sensitive, can't change settings, and no scroll features. I would have thought all laptops have a scroll feature by now...

Other Thoughts: Keep paint-thinner away from keyboard!! Will easily rub off the letters!

If you have the money, get a Macbook Air. For the price, this laptop gives the Macbook Air some real competition. Has all the features you need + lighter and costs half the price.

3 out of 5 eggsOkay laptop

Pros: It's very light and slim (obviously) and runs quite fast for an ultra-low voltage CPU. LED backlight. Far, far cheaper than a MacBook Air too, regardless of where you buy it from. Far less bundled crapware than some of the other *ahem* notorious brands.

Cons: When viewed under bright light, you can see random rainbow speckles in the plastic, possibly to give it more of a "shiny" look or something. Unattractive IMO. Rest of the design is plain black. The keyboard is also stiff and flexes to the point where you're afraid it'll snap, and the keys don't seem to depress far down enough compared to other laptops. First-time setup takes WAAAY too long, the setup text is filled with Engrish and hardly makes sense. Don't like the poorly-rescaled MSI logo taking up space in Control Panel either.

All these faults drop from what would be 4 or 5 stars down to 3. It's a good product once you uninstall the crud and optimize the system overall.

Other Thoughts: If you travel frequently, GET IT. If you sit at home or in your office all day then look to slightly more powerful and heavier laptops. This laptop should mainly be for word processing, web browsing, and all that other business-related junk due to its rather slow speed.

5 out of 5 eggsbeautiful on the desk

Pros: Core Solo SU3500. far better than Atom, and still very low power usage.
1366x768 screen is large enough.

Cons: not so tough body, but I know it.

Other Thoughts: replaced HDD to Vertex SSD. running Ubuntu 9.0.4 no trouble.
for keyboard, see the behind of it. If yours are bouncing, apply more sticky tapes.

3 out of 5 eggsFair

Pros: Thin and light. Not too slow. Good screen

Cons: Keyboard is the pits, it sticks up in the middle and is very bouncy. Difficult to type on because it has this flex.
Built in software application for face recognition crashes in Vista (the supplied OS). Can't even register the machine with MSI to get extended hours support, the model number is not listed on their registration pull down. MSI should really replace the keyboard on this machine, Netbooks costing half as much have a much better keyboard.

Other Thoughts: I did not buy this laptop from NewEgg, I was surprised to see it here, I ordered for more $ from another company.
