5 out of 5 eggsGreat Unit! Highly Recommended!

Pros: Nice and highly responsive. Upgraded to 4 Gb RAM, installed OCZ SSD in place of harddisk, and installed Broadcom Crystal HD decoder card. Extremely easy to do all three upgrades. Upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate. The keyboard is a bit easier to use than the Asus 1201N/1201T.

Cons: Would be nice if battery life would be a bit longer than 4 hours.

the screen tilt issue

5 out of 5 eggsNice little machine

Pros: lightweight
gigabit lan
nice keyboard
handles light gaming
price to power ratio is just right.

Cons: Speakers are terrible. Not very loud at full volume and they sound tinny. Kind of have to expect it given what it is, but its worth noting.

The stickers were a pain to peel off.

I have a tendency to unlock the battery when moving it. The slider is a bit loose.

Other Thoughts: Put the additional two gigs of ram in and it just flies. I'm very pleased with this purchase. I searched around for about 2 months before I ordered it and at it's price its hard to beat.

At least it was. The 11.6in. Acer Aspire AS1551-5448 is probably worth the extra bit of money if you want the most power you can get out of a small size. I can honestly say if it was available when I ordered this one, I'd probably be writing a review for that one. But if the extra money isn't worth extra graphics power to you then this one is still a very nice option.

I'd also recommend the Targus TSM043US if you're looking for a bag to carry it around in. Worth every penny.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Netbook!

Pros: Running great on windows 7 ultimate 64 bit! Amazing machine, handles full 1080p video via HDMI to the TV perfectly. Easily overclocked GPU. Shockingly powerful compared to atom netbooks I have used. AutoCAD10 works perfectly. CS Source plays in full settings; looks great when playing on a LCD TV. Experimenting with other games but I am very impressed with performance from the IGP. This really blows the other netbooks out of the water! Can't beat it for the price.

Cons: The only con I could think of is the screen could tilt back slightly further. The laptop still works fine when in the lap and the angle is okay, so there would be very few situations were this would be an issue.

Not really a device con but; Lack of 64 bit driver support. MSI needs to step up and make 64 bit drivers available. *You can find every driver you need* however you will have to download it from the company that makes the part directly.

Other Thoughts: Don't listen to dumb comments about the battery! I Have disabled powernow and powerplay. I run full 1.6 on battery with no issues. The IGP overclocked to 600mhz also! The only thing you may experience is reduced battery life. PLEASE DON"T LEAVE NEGATIVE REVIEWS IF YOU ARE TOTALLY INEPT WITH TECHNOLOGY!

I researched my options and waited a long time for this netbook to become available. I am very impressed with it and would buy it again. It does everything I need and more. Now the only problem is the announcement of the U250 which will feature a newer K325 1.3 dual core (40-45nm) and 512mb of dedicated graphics memory! I may have to buy it when it becomes available haha.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Little Machine

Pros: I have a cabin with limited power (from solar/battery) and I wanted a netbook to take there so I could do some development work on the weekend, listen to music an maybe watch a video. I wanted one that had a bigger screen and I liked that it had a dual processor since I have been fooling around with writing code for parallel processing. For what I am doing I don't mind that it runs at 800Mhz on the battery.
I also use it for my email computer because it is so easy to carry back and forth to work and home.

Cons: I have seen other complaints that the screen doesn't tilt back far enough and I agree with this.

Other Thoughts: I am planning on buying a 9 cell battery and purchaced a DC power attachment that plugs into a cigarette lighter. With these I should be able to run this computer for a long weekend.

1 out of 5 eggsDisabling PowerNow leads to failure because it have a improper design

Pros: Good idea. Many features.

Cons: Good idea, but very poor performance. Disabling PowerNow leads to failure because it have a improper design. But with enabled PowerNow it work on half speed on battery. And you can't get full speed on battery because it is not safe. According MSI: "We have checked this probelm and noticed it.And have confirmed it with engineer .I'm sorry to tell you stays on 800MHz on battrey mode is company design policy of this model. It's for keeping battery life and system temperature. And if CPU keep highest performance and heavy loading ,battery may meet over current protect point and stop provide power.Battery discharge will cause battery temperature rise. If keep discharge with high current the temperature rise very fast and will meet over temperature protect point then stop provide power. So this design won't be changed .Hope you understanding ."

Other Thoughts: I did passmark tests on my U230.
Full speed L335 = 870 points
Half speed L335 = 405 points (On battery with PowerNow)

Pros: windows 7 Home Premium
WD scorpio HDD
12.1" HD screen
X2 core

HDMI (with Audio out)
ATI HD3200

Cons: outside case is finger print collector
keyboard would need to get used to but its good
only 2gb of Ram but windows 7 still Flies with 2gb
didnt come with Sim card slot (would have to purchase separately)
and this isnt a 64bit OS comes with 32bit win 7

Shipping took practically a week when i paid for 3 day shipping. :/

Other Thoughts: added 512mb (had laying around) so 2.5gb Ram with 256mb for graphics
The Processor is about 2 times better then the Atom lol and yeah its a dual core but still.. i would buy this over any atom any day!

5 out of 5 eggsddv is mistaken

Unbelievable, I feel like I have a little powerhouse. I can't wait to get 2 extra gig in here to see what else this thing is capable of. I have been playing games on this little thing as well as video. I lower my resolutions, put everything on lowest setting, L4D, CSS, some indy games, everything is playing well.

Cons: Battery life, with powernow disabled which gives me full CPU ability I get around 3 hours instead of 4. That is fine with me.

Other Thoughts: I just played a 1080p divx file on a plasma screen which was a split file that I had to join meaning it wasn't the easiest file to play. It played perfectly fine on a plasma screen. That previous reviewer is completely mistaken.
