  • newegg Exclusive Smart Tracker for Smooth Operation Other tablet brands are hard on the hands and wrists as they require that the tablet be held in one hand, while the other operates the screen. This can cause strain and possibly injury over long periods of time. The WindPad 110W features the exclusive Smart Tracker, which allows you to grip it with two hands as you operate the tablet via the Smart Tracker. Your hands and wrists won't feel discomfort no matter how long you use it.
  • newegg Lock/unlock Rotation Function at Will The WindPad 110W can display contents in landscape or portrait orientation to match various applications and your personal needs. A touch of one button stops screen rotating to make reading e-books, playing games, web browsing, or using office applications more enjoyable.
  • newegg Dual Cameras Two cameras are built in for twice the productivity. The rear-facing camera captures images and video for editing and sharing, and the front-facing camera lets you conduct video conference anytime, anywhere.
  • newegg TPM (Trusted Platform Module) Files can be encrypted for twice the security. This means that you can require a password to open a file and then require that it can only be opened in coordination with the TPM chip. Even if a hacker obtains your file, for example, they can't actually get at the data without the TPM chip, effectively stopping data loss due to hackers and Trojan horses.
  • newegg Smart Media Link The WindPad 110W connects easily with other devices to perform such actions as sharing information and transferring videos/documents.
  • newegg O-Easy Interface MSI's own O-Easy Interface offers three application modes for easier management and use of frequently used functions and software.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Tablet for Windows 8

Pros: Good GPU, decent CPU for what it is. Plenty of RAM.

Cons: Stock SSD is slow. The CPU feels a little slow when it comes to opening things on the desktop (web browsers take a few seconds to open), but Metro apps are very snappy.

Other Thoughts: Windows 8 works great. I installed the latest AMD chipset/graphics drivers and downloaded the rest of the device drivers from MSI's website. You also need the Windows 7 version of MSI's 'O-Easy' software to enable automatic screen rotation.

Upgrading the mSATA SSD is easy, just remove the 6 screws (two at the power jack, 4 under the pop-out rubber feet) and run your fingernails between the grey/black plastic to gently pop the screen off.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have done alot of research on other tablets and this is best i could find within a $500 price range. The main thing is its video card is much better then most in its class its even better then some more pricey ones. It does run some older and a few newer games well i tested: Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Half-Life 1+2, portal, counterstrike source(lowest-med setting some better then others). It would run many more but you only have 8 GB of space when you get windows 7 on it also the stock hard drive is super slow and small room so replace it asap. If you don't want to replace the hard drive you can use the SD card slot to add 32-64GB of extra space(these cards run much slower then the hard drive but you can install to them). I have also heard it can use 8GB of ram vs the 4gb stock, if i ever do the hard drive swap i might do that also and install windows 8. Overall it still does everything i expected and i am very pleased with it.

Cons: Well will start off with why this got 4 eggs and not 5, the first one i got lasted 4 days then got a BSOD error indicating a hardware failure maybe the ram or ssd. After talking with Newegg on the phone and setting up my RMA# they gave me the instructions and a pre-paid postage label to return it to them. About 8 days later i got my new tablet for the 2nd time. The charging cable is a joke, i had to place my surge protector next to it so it can reach. The included cover wont even fit over the tablet... no idea what they were thinking.... And good luck finding accessories for it like an aftermarket cover/case because none are making it for them, you can find cases that will work but never perfectly fit. They do make a 80-100$ docking station for it which i want but they are not always in stock to buy!?(I had to custom make a desk stand for mine), Also having to turn it upside down since the charging port is on the bottom is annoying. Last thing, I like how it has the small touch pad thing on the case BUT where is the mouse buttons for it? Without a mouse input button kinda defies its reason to even be there in the first place.

Other Thoughts: All that aside this is a great little tablet i think anyone could enjoy, but having technical experience for upgrades is recommended otherwise add a 64GB SD card and enjoy it stock.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat PC tablet for Win 8

Pros: Good build quality with decent battery life. Runs Win 8 great with HD upgrade

Cons: Straight out the box its very laggy. Put Mushkins 120HD and Win 8 in it and now it rocks. Case is little freaky to take apart, If your not into taking apart pay the $40 labor
Gave it 4 stars because 32 HD has to replaced for it to work properly

Other Thoughts: Plays COH great at low settings and runs Sketchup And Blender perfect. Get a mini Bluetooth keyboard to use with it

4 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: A great tablet. Highly recommend changing the hard drive. I put in a 128 gb drive and installed win8 rtm. Works perfectly. Very fast with win8 and touch is great with win8!
Boot time is 15 to 20 seconds with win8 and new hard drive.

Cons: Small, slow drive.. Definitely replace
One usb port, but a mini usb hub works great ( I typically have wireless mouse, usb Ethernet and usb keyboard in hub and all work great).

Other Thoughts: Great device. Everything works great with win8 as long as you replace the HDD.

5 out of 5 eggsWindows 8 and the MSI Windpad 110w

Pros: Price
Great hardware specs - CPU, GPU, Memory..
Low power consumption
Nice bright responsive touch screen
additional ports

Cons: Needs a bigger SSD Drive (32gb) Just don't cut it for Windows
A little heavy
left side gets a little hot near exhaust vent for the fan

Other Thoughts: I purchased my Windpad 110w about a month ago. As like many others the first thing I did was replace the stock 32gb SSD with a nice super fast Mushkin 120GB model (also from Newegg). I then loaded up Windows 8 and all I can say is WOW! This is the little tablet that could. It runs Windows 8 quite well. The OS loads fast from boot (about 7-8 secs). Web pages, music playing and even light gaming are flawless. It does have an issue with the Windows 8 media player but I'm sure this will probably be fixed upon the retail release of Windows 8. Right now I'm using a 3rd part media player for video.. But it worls great. We connect the tablet to our 51" plasma and watch downloaded videos all the time. Very nice and portable. I think anyone would be happy with this setup.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Tablet

Pros: Works as expected. Very powerful, seems like im on a desktop. Installed Office 2010 Pro, Web site design/graphics software and other type software and no issues.

Cons: This specific model absolutly will not work with Windows 8 yet if you upgrade to the Intel 80GB SSD MSata hard drive. Microsoft has stated they will research the driver issue when Windows 8 is fully released.
Per Microsoft its a driver issue between the AMD Processor and the Intel MSata SSD.

Other Thoughts: Other than I am sad I cannot run Win8 with a decent size hard drive.. None at all.

3 out of 5 eggsWindpad

Pros: Excellent graphics
Lightweight and versatile
Easy to use
Windows operating system

Cons: My one gripe with this is the extremely low battery life. Even using as an e-reader, the battery does not last 4 hours. Very disappointed in MSI for this problem. I knocked off 2 eggs for this.

5 out of 5 eggsStill Ahead

Pros: High portability, Great specs for a tablet.

Read the reviews about the initial OS install, you can break out of the BING bar install.

Plan to upgrade and you can turn this into the best tablet around.

Cons: Power cord length. I get the feeling they went with the lowest bid.

Not really a con, but I can't seem to find the docking station anywhere. For an 80$ accessory it's seems oddly elusive.

Other Thoughts: Two things, the specs on the SSD that ships with this unit are dismal. They only went SSD for the power gain apparently. That said a daily deal equipped it with a 64 gig with 5X the performance (mSATA). As the GPU/CPU are coupled it can use a boost and the available PCIe slot can take a HD assist card. It's due tommorow. I'll update after I've checked it out.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Versatile, 64x, Windows based (I hear that with Windows 8 it's even more awesome), amazing for the price. Has an available adapter port for 4G capability. I changed out the small mSATA 32GB with a 128GB one easily and was able to install windows via USB with no hassle. GPS acquires signal rapidly and accurately even here in Japan. Any GPS program installed in your device is compatible with your Broadcom GPS sensor. Video is smooth as ice. The case is made of non slip material making it quite ergonomic to handle.

Cons: The charger... It was too short until I spliced an extra 5 foot cable to it, but even then, the AC plug is as long and straight as a pinky finger and sticks out from the bottom of the device. It makes using a leather case or stand impossible (unless you use it upside down).

You can tie up your one USB port for charging purposes though.

The exhaust vent hardly ever blows hot air on my hands like some other I see complain. And it seldom turns on high enough for me to notice. HD video seems to be what makes the CPU heat up.

Other Thoughts: Overall despite the charger, this tablet is simply amazing and fast. It's no gaming computer, just keep that in mind.

4 out of 5 eggsStill better than most

Pros: Fast and responsive, plenty of RAM, nice capacitive multi-touch screen, decent battery life. Since this tablet runs Windows7 I run regular windows applications on it, including my network scripts I wrote for managing a network at work.

Cons: Been having trouble with the built-in GPS. Gives a read-out of 0degrees long and 0degrees lat. Have a support ticket open with MSI but haven't heard back on it yet. Hoping it's just a temporary issue with the GPS receiver picking up a signal or something.

Other Thoughts: I picked this tablet over others because it was Windows based and because it had better hardware specs. The only thing I wish this had is a better version of Windows 7 other than Home Premium so I could have all the features unlocked, and it would have been nice if they had designed it with an attached keyboard that slides out like ASUS did. Overall though this tablet out does all the other tablets I have played with.
