1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: Great computer when it works.

Cons: The screen has died 3 times now. It dies after full and complete shutdowns. 2 of these times I have been deployed overseas. I have had to spend over 300$ on a computer that cost almost 2k to begin with. MSI customer service will jerk you around till your warranty ends sending the same broken laptop back again and again.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsHeavy duty Photoshop user

Pros: There is everything to like about this workhorse of a computer. To run Photoshop and all of its various filters, it had to be good and fast. It really is! I can run Photoshop and a special painting program at the same time and it never bogs down.
I expect to install Windows 8 as it comes with the computer within a certain time period, and expect that will run well too.

Cons: Delete key is in a strange place

3 out of 5 eggsBad Keyboard and Touchpad

Pros: Lightweight. Nice form factor. Stays cool. Plenty of inputs.

Cons: The touchpad is awful. Barely works at all. Frustrating to use in those instances when you need it. And the keyboard? It is worse. On average 2-3 keys fail to register per sentence. The left CTRL key fails about 75% of the time, no matter how hard you hit it. Makes it very hard to use the keyboard for work. Less problematic for games, but some games (e.g. Starcraft) still require you to make use of the CTRL key, and its all but impossible to play those games well on the default hardware. Purchased the laptop in April so apparently not all vendors have the new keyboards yet.

Other Thoughts: If I had it to do over again I am not sure if I would buy another MSI. I love the weight of the laptop, and the cooling system, but the lousy keyboard is driving me nuts. Manufacturer authorized an RMA, but I have to send the keyboard in for who knows how long before I will have a working laptop -- unacceptable when I paid more than $2000 for it. Should have gone Alienware or Asus.

2 out of 5 eggsAmazing specs but just as many problems

Pros: -Obviously the specs.

-So far with small adjusting I am getting BF3 on Ultra with around 40 FPS, pretty good.

-Fast, a little over a minute in boot up

-Definitely digging the style of laptop, it's not completely over the top like other gaming laptops.

-Some say it's not impressive but I think this beast has an amazing speaker system

-The cooler boost is amazing... it will cool this thing down in minutes.

-Simple touch interface system

-Easy install

Cons: -This thing is giving me BSOD after a month of usage, nothing too series but it does happen every once in a while

-Can't run certain older games (not a huge issue but hey we all want to throw in something old some times)

-GPU starts giving me errors like green dots on my blacks

-Touchpad is kinda sloppy

-No indicators of Caps Lock or Number Lock, Caps Lock doesn't bother me but Number Lock is pretty useful when it comes to macro settings in competitive games and as a gaming laptop I think this is a pretty large flaw. Yes it takes only 2 seconds to fix it but still, after all these specs, you think they can add an indicator...

-Random crashes... after two weeks of usage...

-A few bloatwares

-Loses a TON of performance when it's not plugged with a A/C

-S-bar at the top is a little ugly but I quickly got used to it

-Keyboard is a little weird settings but easy to get used to.

Other Thoughts: Sorry ran out of room in Cons lol...

My BIGGEST complaint about this laptop is the communication with MSi.

They literately don't answer a single email or phone calls period.

I don't even know what happened to my rebates they so claim to accept online but no answers from a few of my mails (it's been over a month with multiple rebates).

All these hardware problems could be fixed if they actually gave me customer service and helped me.

As much as I like the hardware, these BSOD, crashes, and graphic errors are a HUGE turn off. If they actually answered my desperate cry for help, maybe I would have a good experience, lol.

All I can say is, my thoughts aren't everyone's. I see there are some great reviews and people having a good experience. However there are also a lot of people with the EXACT SAME problems as I do, it's a risk (especially with the price).

I don't deny the specs but there are many flaws.

4 out of 5 eggsGood gaming laptop

Pros: Great laptop! Fast, I like the backlite keyboard, great screen, great audio. Video processing is very quick.

Cons: The keyboard is taking me time to get used too. Many times I will hit a key while typing, and the key does not registrer. The "windows" key is on the right side.

Other Thoughts: I created the recovery discs, but they did not work. I am experiencing one issue with the wireless; the wireless N is not working, but wireless G works fine.

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost Perfect

Pros: 12 Gigs of ram, a interesting keyboard, beautiful display, absoluetly amazing speakers, and the gtx 570m

Cons: My only problem is that the KLM feature of the laptop. That is the led manager for the backlit keyboard. It doesnt work like it should. The soft button at the top of the laptop is suppose to open the menu to change the colors and on this laptop all it does is turn the lights on or off. Even double clicking the KLM shortcut on the desktop doesnt open it. MSI tech support didnt help me too much either

Other Thoughts: If this problem can be fixed ill write another review and give it 5 eggs until then I leave it at 4

3 out of 5 eggsDon't Count on That Rebate...

Pros: 1. Ultra video quality from anything thrown at it.
2. No other laptop could ever come close to matching the dynamic sound coming from this portable gaming machine.
3. Cooling system is a nice little bonus.
4. Dazzling keyboard display.

Cons: 1. Don't count on that MSI rebate, you won't get it. It won't matter how many times you correctly fill out and complete all paperwork needed for your rebate, MSI will continue to blow you off. MSI said I was missing my invoice, what's funny about that was not only did I make several copies of eerything, they sent me a PDF that showed my invoice and later a email that said I had indeed sent my invoice, and yet I was still rejected. I wrote this review more as a warning to all those would-be-future-MSI-customers.
2. Cost... After throwing down $1600 you would think they would honor their rebates.
3. Keys rarely miss keystrokes.

Other Thoughts: End Point- Great product, Poor Customer Service, Deceptive Advertising. Buyer Beware!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued MSI Customer,
“Please contact MSI customer service representative Tom at tomh@msi.com, or call Tom at 626-913-0828 ext 216 with your case details so we can check the rebate status. Thank you.”

1 out of 5 eggsGreat Machine, until you have a problem.

Pros: Overall the machine has been great. Has run anything I can throw at it on high settings with fast processing. I used it for both work and play and had very few issues untill the power addapter in the computer started haveing issues.

Cons: Bloatwear!!!

My biggest issue has been the lack of customer support. My unit had a bad power connector so it wont recieve a charge. It was an off an on thing for a while until it finally recieves no charge at all from the power supply. So this has rendered my "awesome" machine irrelivant for more almost a month now. E-mailed tech suport which sent me a number that no one aswers. Eventually goes to an aswering machine and as of this afternoon was "dissconnected".

Other Thoughts: Overal I'd say the computer itself is quite impressive and has promise to be one of the better macines on the market at a good price. But the lack of customer support has all but ruined what started as a very possitive experience.

5 out of 5 eggsHigh Class Laptop

Pros: - Very high resolution screen
- Very fast machine
- Runs any game on High settings flawlessly, so far I've tried: FSX, Crysis 1 & 2, BF3 and CODMW3
- Very good gaming capabilities
- Fancy keyboard lighting
- Fancy touch-sensitive shortcut keys
- Surprisingly kick-a** speakers

Cons: - Unusual keyboard (some keys are awkwardly places but nothing that you can't get used to)
- You can't tell if the CAPS lock is on or off
- Does come with some bloatware (some of which you can get rid of and some of which is necessary to keep for the laptop to work so make sure you do your research before deleting everything foreign)

Other Thoughts: ALL IN ALL, very good for gaming. Runs what you want where you want it. Maybe not so great to type essays on but no one buys this laptop to write essays... You get VERY good specs in a machine that should be more expensive compared to other companies. I'm happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this laptop :D

2 out of 5 eggsBad All Around

Pros: High hardware specs - that's what you pay for.

Cons: The keyboard is abysmal. It misses keys constantly, has keys in non-standard positions (like the backslash next to the ALT key - WHAT?), and is all around worthless aside from WSAD. The Fn key and common combos are not near each other, so you need to use two hands to do things like raise volume. There are no lights for caps lock, num lock, or scroll lock.

The machine comes with horrible built in software that puts a (very) annoying bar at the top of your desktop. If you remove this software, the soft buttons on the laptop stop working.

There is no physical ejection button for the optical media, only a soft button which does not work unless you are booted into Windows.

*Most annoying issue
This is supposed to be a gaming rig, however the software that comes built in pops up little animations when you use the soft buttons on the system. THESE ANIMATIONS WILL TAB YOU OUT OF YOUR GAME AND BACK TO THE DESKTOP. Changing volume, brightness, disabling touchpad, all drop you to the

Other Thoughts: Stay away from this machine. Like others giving reviews I had a bad experience with getting a lemon from MSI, got it replaced by Newegg, and after 3 months I've had 3 bluescreens in the past week. This thing has hardware flaws like none other.

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid.
