5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: -Great performance (40 FPS and above on High/Ultra settings in games like Tomb Raider and XCOM: Enemy Unknown). In 3D Mark 11 is scored about 1,000 points higher than the category "Gaming Laptops"
-Great cooling (only had to use CoolerBoost during extremely heavy loads like benchmarking with Heaven)

-CoolerBoost is loud but extremely effective
-Keyboard looks/feels great

-Windows 8 is actually a pretty nice OS, just takes some getting used to.

Cons: -The Killer 1202 wireless seems to have some issues connecting to the 5GHz band but I may just need to install a new driver (just a heads up for people expecting it to connect right out of the box). The problem seems to be intermittent and is just a slight annoyance at the moment.

-Windows 8 apparently has issues with webcams because mine doesn't work and after googling it, it seems to be a pretty common occurrence. This isn't really an issue for me since I probably wouldn't use it even if it did work.

Other Thoughts: First gaming laptop I've purchased and I absolutely love it!

5 out of 5 eggsI love my GT60

Pros: Fast, sweet video card, plenty of RAM, nice big HDD.

*Turbo Fan* mode is extremely effective at cooling when working this laptop hard.

Really nice anti-glare screen.

Really decent audio/speakers for a laptop, very nice.

Cons: SSHD fills up fast, but that's not really the fault of the computer, more my lack of experience with moderatly sized SSHD boot drives, so this shouldn't really even be listed as a con.

Sort of heavy but what would a person reasonably expect, I mean, this baby is freaking LOADED! It SHOULD be a little heavy!

Other Thoughts: I am very happy with this laptop. Lots of bells and whistles, which to be honest, I really like. I mean, the LED lit keyboard is a tad frivolous, but I absolutely love it!

The built in speakers/audio system is surprisingly pleasing, I don't even bother with external speakers.

I actually spilled a cup of coffee right onto the keyboard within my first week of having this badboy (I know, not cool...) and it didn't even hiccup! Not a recommended procedure, but still, that it survived unscathed is a really good sign.

The *Turbo* fan is a little loud, but extremely effective, and the slight noise is, IMHO, a small price to pay for the fantastic cooling efficiency! It drops the temps 10-15 degrees or more almost immediately. Very nice feature.

I am sold on MSI and will gladly continue to recommend and buy their products in the future.

Windows 8 really sucks, but the free 8.1 update cleans up it's shortcomings a *lot*; still a lot to learn, with the tiles and everything, but not nearly as bad as I was expecting from what I had heard and read. When in doubt: SEARCH! :-)

I play MMORPG's a lot, and some shooters, and can use Ultra settings on pretty much everything... she heats up a little, but TurboFan to the rescue! No need for an external cooler, which is a nice way to save 30-95 bucks!

Pros: Pretty much top of the line 15.6" notebook. If you want a gaming laptop there are few options better than this.

Cons: USB ports have failed. The 3 USB ports on the left side have stopped working. Nothing registers or chargers. Now I have to send the laptop in, which could be up to 30 days without a laptop. I'm a 3rd year computer science major that relies heavily on my laptop. Luckily I still have my older laptop, but not everyone will be so lucky. Also the customer is liable for one way shipping for the RMA. So in addition to being out a laptop for 30 days, I'm also out the cost of shipping and insuring a $2000 laptop. You would think for $2000 they would pay shipping when their laptop breaks. What a joke, no wonder Apple is crushing the competition. At least I could just go into an Apple store. Selling this when it's fixed for the new macbook pro. Less performance for the same price, but at least they have a local store.

Other Thoughts: It's a shame. Had lots of potential. Depending on how the rest of the support process goes I may stick with it. But I'm quite disappointed.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great value
Keyboard is nice
Lighter than any gaming laptop I've owned
Excellent speakers
Comes with an awesome pressed-metal dragon sticker

Cons: trackpad buttons only work twoards the outter edges.

The keyboard backlight doesn't do deep/dark colors very well. The darkest green setting is rather yellowish.

The power brick is the size of a real-life brick

Power cord seems a little flimsy. The insulating plastic is quite soft, and the wire is far too malleable.

The back of the laptop is rather bland. Considering what's under the hood, this thing should have more attitude.

As others have mentioned, the windows 8 graphics card/waking up from sleep issue is a concern. Get win7 if you can.

The two left-hand side USB ports are too close together. You can't use both at the same time.

While at low speeds the fan makes a faint creaking/grinding noise. Once it gets up to speed, the noise stops.

Other Thoughts: Oddly, whenever I have an external mouse plugged in, the touch pad deactivates. I can't change the setting.

Overall, very satisfied.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat gaming laptop!

Pros: I have been gaming for years, mainly FPS and RPG when it comes to PC. Coming from a HP with the first generation i7, this is the best gaming laptop I've ever owned. Compared to it's many competitors such as Alienware, you're getting a huge bang for your buck! The SSD along with the GTX 780M and i7 make this laptop bring out textures I never knew existed in my current games. I was worried that I would get an abomination considering some of the negative reviews about fan issues and heat. My sister owns last year's GT70 model which she absolutely loves so I knew it was worth getting. The fan and heat don't seem to be an issue for me and I haven't seen the need to use any of the graphics or fan boosters yet. I've been trying every game I have on max settings and they look very smooth. The 15.6" size also makes it very easy to carry around with you, unlike those monstrous 17"+ laptops. I can't wait to see what I can throw at it next!

Cons: I had a few headaches when it came to using laptop with external monitors and my Toshiba Dynadock 3.0 that I purchased specifically for this computer. When I was playing World of Tanks with my Asus VG248 plugged into the dock via HDMI and graphics set to max, I could not achieve the graphics and fps I was expecting out of the 780M. For some reason with games that ran on Steam such as Black Ops 2, I was getting 60 fps and smooth graphics with max settings which puzzled me. I thought this could be Optimus not recognizing my game even after selecting it in the Nvidia settings.

After hours of troubleshooting and talking to the ridiculous MSI tech support, I ended up solving the problem myself. Taking the HDMI cable off of the dock and plugging it directly into the back of the laptop allowed me to get proper fps and the smooth graphics I was wanting. Now this created a new problem for me that I'm currently dealing with. When I wake the computer from sleep mode, it will flash both external monitors and throw and exception causing it to restart automatically. In order for me to wake the computer up properly, I must open the lid, wake it up and then switch the monitors back to Secondary monitor. It's a minor quirk that I believe is with Window's 8's handling of multiple monitors on laptops. I'm just hoping the new 8.1 update will fix this. Some have said to just reformat to Windows 7, but I want to give Windows 8 a shot.

Other Thoughts: If you don't want to spend money on something like an Alienware or Sager and you still want to achieve high graphics, this is the laptop for you!

Windows 8 can get annoying with normal tasks and gaming alike. -1 egg for this and MSI's laughable tech support.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Laptop

Pros: The best laptop I have ever owned! for 2k this is a steal.
I put 3 mushkin msata ssds in raid 0 to achieve super raid 2 and I repasted the cpu and gpu with ic diamond.
This is now just as powerful as the dragon edition in a compact form, I did also purchase a notbook cooler pad that I love for this!

Cons: No cons

Other Thoughts: easy to open and upgrade great cooling fan is superquiet and ultra portable with ultra power.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product!

Pros: So, i got this product yesterday. It came and i was very excited, but worried due to other reviews. I set it up, and it worked great! Runs very very cool, never reached above 50 Celsius. also, the people who are saying the fan sounds like a lawn mower? TURN THE FAN TURBO MODE OFF! (There is a button above the keyboard for fan turbo) Although fan turbo mode is loud, it makes your laptop actually COLD to the touch, so i love having this while gaming. Ran Battlefield 3 maxed out 1080P at about 90 FPS. Overall, this was definitely worth the $2,000, and i will be buying MSI products in the future. :)

Cons: None! :)

Pros: this laptop is awesome couldn't ask for more. it has everything that anyone could need for a powerful gaming laptop. i highly recommend this laptop!

Cons: the only cons about this laptop is that msi doesn't have support or drives for windows 7. i had to find the drivers from the hardware manufactures. like the USB 3.0 drives had to get from intel

Other Thoughts: love this laptop

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Laptop

Pros: The graphics card can't be beat, very quiet when idle or browsing the internet(i.e. facebook, youtube etc.). Nice matte type screen, and the backlit keyboard is a nice touch.

Cons: The webcam on this product was not as good as expected, but i can deal with that.

Other Thoughts: The msata ssd is a bit small for the price, but the extra two slots can be easily used to add more room.
